Indianapolis Colts QB Chad Kelly and WR Marcus Johnson on Saturday, Nov. 9, were elevated from the practice squad to the active roster. In corresponding moves, WR Deon Cain and DT Kyle Peko were waived.

Nov 3 4:53pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Deon Cain did not have a catch on two targets in Week 9 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Fantasy Spin: Cain was unable to break through despite the fact T.Y. Hilton was inactive. Of course, it didn't help that Jacoby Brissett went down early with an injury. Still, if Cain wasn't able to shine this week, he isn't going to do it anytime soon. Avoid him for fantasy purposes in Week 10 and beyond.

Oct 21 11:13pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Deon Cain was targeted zero times in the Week 7 against the Houston Texans, and he saw the fourth-most offensive snaps among the wide receivers.

From TheHuddle

Sep 13 7:33pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Deon Cain (illness) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 13, and is not on the injury report for Week 2.

Fantasy Spin: Cain caught both of his targets in Week 1 and finished with 35 yards. He may receive more targets in the passing game this week but can probably be avoided in most fantasy leagues.

Indianapolis Colts DE Jabaal Sheard (knee) did not participate in practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 2 against the Tennessee Titans. RB Jonathan Williams (rib) practiced on a limited basis for a second straight day Friday, Sept. 13, but has also been ruled out. DE Kemoko Turay (neck) did not practice all week and is listed as doubtful. DL Denico Autry (rest), OT Anthony Castonzo (rest), WR T.Y. Hilton (rest) and DE Justin Houston (rest) did not practice Friday but were left off the injury report. LB Zaire Franklin (hip), S Clayton Geathers (rest), WR Deon Cain (heat-related) and CB Ryan Lewis (heat-related) fully participated in practice Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.

Indianapolis Colts DE Jabaal Sheard (knee), DE Kemoko Turay (neck), LB Zaire Franklin (hip) and S Clayton Geathers (rest) did not practice Thursday, Sept. 12. RB Jonathan Williams (rib) was upgraded to limited participation, while WR Deon Cain (heat-related) and CB Ryan Lewis (heat-related) were limited as well.

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Deon Cain saw his stock rise earlier this week when fellow wideout Devin Funchess (Collarbone) was placed on injured reserve. Throughout the preseason and training camp, Cain steadily saw his stock rise with his crisp route running and professionalism. In Week 1, he recorded just two catches, but it was on just two targets. He averaged 17.5 yards per reception on the day. The Tennessee Titans in Week 2 don't have a particularly elite secondary. As long as Cain gets increased volume, he could have some interesting Flex appeal in Week 2.

Sep 3 9:30pm ET

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Deon Cain has had a great preseason after returning from last season's torn ACL. On Tuesday, the team released their first official depth chart of the year, and he was listed as the third wide receiver of the bench. Cain does a lot of his damage close to the line of scrimmage, which is where quarterback Jacoby Brissett likes to throw. If he can quickly establish a role, he can have a ton of upside this season.

Aug 24 10:03pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Deon Cain caught three of his four targets for 74 yards and a touchdown against the Chicago Bears in the preseason Saturday, Aug. 24.

Fantasy Spin: Cain continues to shine in the preseason, but he was already dealing with a crowded receiving corps as he works his way back from a knee injury, and now Andrew Luck is reportedly retiring. He's still worth stashing in keeper formats, but without Luck running the offense, the fantasy ceiling for any receiver in Indianapolis isn't as high.

Aug 18 1:50am ET

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Deon Cain has been showing out throughout training camp. That remained true during the team's Week 2 of the preseason game against the Cleveland Browns. He was their best offensive player with seven catches for 80 yards. Behind wide receiver T.Y. Hilton and Devin Funchess, there is a role available for someone to capture, and Cain is doing his best to make his case. If he's able to maintain similar levels of performance moving forward, he can become a great weapon for this offense.

Aug 17 9:43pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Deon Cain caught seven of his nine targets for a game-high 80 yards in a 21-18 preseason loss to the Cleveland Browns Saturday, Aug. 18.

Fantasy Spin: Cain lost his rookie season to a knee injury, but he has started to generate some buzz once again. The offseason addition of Devin Funchess will make it tough for Cain to have value in redraft leagues, but he is an intriguing stash candidate in keeper formats.

Aug 16 11:10pm ET

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Deon Cain has recovered from a torn ACL during last year's training camp. He's a quiet sleeper for the Colts, but, with the injury to fellow wideout Daurice Fountain (ankle) his stock is on the rise. On an offense that should be one of the best in football, he can quickly gain a regular role if he keeps making consistent plays as he has during the preseason.

From RotoBaller

Aug 9 12:10am ET

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Deon Cain effectively took a redshirt during his first NFL season after he tore his ACL during training camp. During this year's training camp, he's been receiving glowing reviews from everyone on the team's staff. On Thursday, he made his NFL debut against the Buffalo Bills in preseason action with a rather quiet night. On four targets, he had just two catches for 15 yards. His workload will likely increase throughout the preseason, but the team will be looking to see more from him as he tries to snag a roster spot.

From RotoBaller

Aug 7 11:43pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Deon Cain (knee) will likely play a quarter or longer in the team's preseason opener Thursday, Aug. 8 against the Buffalo Bills. 'I think it's important for him, and he's ready,' head coach Frank Reich said Wednesday, Aug. 7. 'It's that time, and (we're) looking forward to getting him out there.'

From TheHuddle

Aug 7 12:53am ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Deon Cain (knee) will play in the preseason opener Thursday, Aug. 8, according to head coach Frank Reich.

Fantasy Spin: Cain continues to make progress from last year's ACL tear. He can be left on the waiver wire in redraft leagues for now, but he is a great stash candidate in keeper formats. Cain could eventually become the starter across from T.Y. Hilton.

From TheHuddle

Aug 6 4:20pm ET

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Deon Cain (ACL), who missed all of last season after he tore his ACL in training camp, is expected to make his Colts debut on Thursday during the team's first preseason game against the Buffalo Bills. This will be his first live-game action in over a year. He's been receiving positive reviews throughout training camp, so it will be exciting to see what he's able to do against live defenders as he fights for a roster spot.

From RotoBaller

Aug 2 9:23pm ET

Indianapolis Colts WR Deon Cain (knee) admitted to being rusty during training camp, but he has had no issues with his surgically repaired knee.

Fantasy Spin: Cain was generating a lot of buzz last preseason prior to the injury, and he's a quality stash candidate in keeper formats. He has the upside to become the starter across from T.Y. Hilton.

From TheHuddle

Jul 24 1:50pm ET

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Deon Cain suffered a torn ACL during training camp last season. Through the first couple days of the 2019 camp, he's been getting positive reviews. GM Chris Ballard singled him out saying that he's grown a lot over the last year, and the former sixth-round pick should have the opportunity to make some noise during camp this year. Behind fellow wideouts T.Y. Hilton and Devin Funchess, no one has locked down their role within the offense. If Cain can stay healthy, he may be able to carve out a set role for himself during the season.
