Player Notes
Jan 5 3:40pm ET

New England Patriots wide receiver Mohamed Sanu caught only one pass for 11 yards in the team's loss to the Titans in the Wild Card Round. Sanu was targeted five times but connected with quarterback Tom Brady only once. Sanu was acquired midseason to provide a big, veteran target for Brady to throw to. But an ankle injury, combined with Sanu's struggles in a new offense, made the trade a non-factor down the stretch. Sanu has mostly enjoyed fringe streaming status in 12-team fantasy formats but his status moving forward is a bit murky heading into the offseason.

Jan 5 12:03am ET

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady completed 20 of his 37 passes for 209 yards and an interception in a 20-13 loss to the Tennessee Titans in the Wild Card round Saturday, Jan. 4. RB Sony Michel rushed 14 times for 61 yards and caught two passes for nine yards, and RB James White caught five passes for 62 yards and rushed once for 14 yards. WR Julian Edelman caught three of his five passes for 30 yards and rushed twice for 12 yards and a touchdown, WR N'Keal Harry caught two of his seven targets for 21 yards, WR Mohamed Sanu caught one of his four passes for 11 yards, WR Phillip Dorsett caught one of his four targets for six yards, and TE Benjamin Watson caught three of his four targets for 38 yards. LB Dont'a Hightower led the team with nine tackles, including eight solo stops and one tackle for loss.

From TheHuddle

Jan 4 3:00pm ET

New England Patriots receiver Mohamed Sanu has limited upside in the wildcard matchup against the Tennessee Titans this weekend. Despite playing more snaps than any other receiver in recent weeks he has struggled to really make any highlight plays. Sanu has been more involved in the offense in the past few weeks with 18 targets over that span. Sanu's limited upside means he is more likely to be involved in cash games, given his stable floor, but his price means you can open up more options in tournaments.

From RotoBaller

Dec 29 4:50pm ET

New England Patriots wide receiver Mohamed Sanu caught three passes for 32 yards in the Patriots loss to the Dolphins in Week 17. Sanu has been dealing with an ankle injury but has been looking more like himself the past few games. This has not translated to more production, however, and has struggled to acclimate into the Patriots passing attack. After posting a career-high 838 receiving yards last season, Sanu will finish 2019 with only 485 yards split between the Falcons and Patriots. Sanu has the moxie to be a difference maker in the playoffs but will be a high-risk gamble in fantasy next weekend.

From RotoBaller

Dec 22 2:40am ET

New England Patriots wide receiver Mohamed Sanu caught three passes for 24 yards in the Patriots 24-17 victory over the Bills. The veteran receiver was not a huge part of the offensive attack but Sanu has been dealing with an ankle injury. But the veteran looked healthier in his cuts and route-running on the field and is still working his way into the offensive flow. Sanu could certainly prove to have value in the playoffs but currently is a risky play in DFS tournaments heading into Week 17.

From RotoBaller

Dec 21 9:03pm ET

New England Patriots WR Mohamed Sanu caught three passes for 24 yards on five targets vs. the Buffalo Bills in Week 16 on Saturday, Dec. 21.

Fantasy Spin: New England plays Miami next week, which automatically puts Sanu into the conversation of being lineup-worthy for gamers still participating in the final stanza of the regular season.

From TheHuddle

Dec 18 4:00pm ET

New England Patriots wide receiver Mohamed Sanu will face a Bills Defense that is allowing the fourth fewest fantasy points to opposing receivers. Sanu has battled injuries and ineffectiveness since being acquired by the Patriots, racking up only eight receptions over his last four games played. Sanu will need a touchdown to be fantasy relevant but will face a Bills defense that has allowed only four touchdowns to opposing receivers since Week 7. Sanu cannot be trusted to help fantasy rosters in Week 16.

From RotoBaller

Dec 15 5:53pm ET

New England Patriots WR Mohamed Sanu posted two receptions for just 13 yards despite eight targets in Week 15 against the Cincinnati Bengals, his original NFL team.

Fantasy Spin: Sanu was targeted frequently by Tom Brady, but the two could get together just twice for minimal production. He remains more of a WR5 in most fantasy leagues heading into Week 16 against the Buffalo Bills on Saturday.

From TheHuddle

Dec 15 5:50pm ET

New England Patriots wide receiver Mohamed Sanu caught two passes for only 13 yards in the Patriots 34-13 win over the Bengals. Sanu has been battling an ankle injury over the past few weeks and does not look 100%. Add to that the fact that Sanu is acclimating himself into a new offense and his fantasy value has fallen off the map. The veteran has very little value at present with only two games remaining in the season.

From RotoBaller

Dec 15 12:03pm ET

New England Patriots WR Mohamed Sanu (ankle) is officially active for the team's Week 15 game.

Fantasy Spin: Sanu has posted disappointing numbers since joining the Patriots but should have a favorable matchup this week. He could be a flex option in some deeper leagues but can also be benched if fantasy players have better options available.

From TheHuddle

Dec 13 4:53pm ET

New England Patriots WR Mohamed Sanu (ankle) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 13, and is listed as questionable for Week 15.

Fantasy Spin: Sanu will have a favorable matchup if he is able to play this week. He has not been a big factor since joining the Patriots but could be at least a flex option in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Dec 13 3:30pm ET

New England Patriots wide receivers Julian Edelman and Mohamed Sanu have both picked up questionable designations ahead of Sundays game versus the Cincinnati Bengals. Edelman does not appear to be in any danger of missing the contest, as he has traditionally been tagged as questionable on numerous occasions throughout the year and managed to play each time. Also limited at practice Friday was Sanu, who is dealing with an ankle injury. Sanus production has tapered off over the last three weeks, which makes him a difficult fantasy play, even against a porous Bengals defensive unit that has allowed the second-most yards in the league this season. Barring a downturn in health, quarterback Tom Brady should have his full allotment of targets at his disposal, but both Edelman and Sanu are worth checking on ahead of kickoff.

Dec 13 3:23pm ET

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (knee, shoulder), LB Ja'Whaun Bentley (knee), DL Byron Cowart (concussion), OL Ted Karras (knee), CB Jason McCourty (groin), WR Mohamed Sanu (ankle) and DL Danny Shelton (ankle) were limited in practice Friday, Dec. 13, and are listed as questionable for Week 15 against the Cincinnati Bengals. QB Tom Brady (elbow), WR N'Keal Harry (hip) and OL Isaiah Wynn (eye) practiced in full Friday and have been removed from the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Dec 12 5:53pm ET

New England Patriots WR Mohamed Sanu (ankle) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 12.

Fantasy Spin: Sanu has posted only six receptions and 31 yards over the last three games. He should have more success against the Cincinnati Bengals this week and has a chance to be a flex option in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Dec 12 5:03pm ET

New England Patriots OT Isaiah Wynn (eye) did not practice Thursday, Dec. 12. WR Julian Edelman (knee, shoulder), LB Ja'Whaun Bentley (knee), DL Byron Cowart (concussion), OL Ted Karras (knee), CB Jason McCourty (groin), WR Mohamed Sanu (ankle) and DL Danny Shelton (shoulder) were limited. QB Tom Brady (elbow) and WR N'Keal Harry (hip) practiced in full.

From TheHuddle

Dec 11 5:30pm ET

New England Patriots wide receiver Mohamed Sanu (ankle) was listed as limited at practice on Wednesday. Sanu returned to the field last week but caught only one pass and it is clear that the ankle injury is hampering his ability to play at full speed. The Patriots will take on a Bengals Defense that is allowing the 10th fewest fantasy points to opposing receivers this season and have allowed only two touchdowns to receivers since Week 10. Sanu should be considered on course to suit up in Week 15 but the injury, combined with the state of the Patriots offense, makes him unusable in most fantasy formats.

From RotoBaller

Dec 11 4:13pm ET

New England Patriots WR Mohamed Sanu (ankle) was limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 11.

Fantasy Spin: Sanu started against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 14, but he received just one target. He has topped 25 receiving yards in just one of his five games with the Patriots and he isn't worth starting in 12-team leagues.

From TheHuddle

Dec 9 1:53am ET

New England Patriots WR Mohamed Sanu (ankle) had one reception for 13 yards against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, Dec. 8.

Fantasy Spin: Considering how little Sanu has been involved (outside of Week 9), it's fair to wonder why the Patriots were compelled to surrender a second-round pick to secure his services. Perhaps the ankle injury is hampering him more than the team is acknowledging. Whatever the circumstance, Sanu shouldn't be in your lineup for his return to Cincinnati.

From TheHuddle

Dec 8 9:50pm ET

New England Patriots wide receiver Mohamed Sanu caught only one pass for 13 yards in the Patriots 23-17 loss to the Chiefs in Week 14. The veteran receiver was targeted only once and was a complete non-factor in the game. Sanu has been dealing with an ankle injury and it is fair to question whether he can truly contribute the rest of the fantasy season. He simply is struggling to get on the same page with quarterback Tom Brady and is learning a new offense on the fly. Sanu should ride the fantasy bench in Week 15.

From RotoBaller

Dec 8 3:23pm ET

New England Patriots WR Mohamed Sanu (ankle) is officially active for the team's Week 14 game.

Fantasy Spin: Sanu has had one good game since joining the Patriots but has been dealing with the ankle injury. He should see a solid amount of targets and can be a No. 3 receiver or flex option in fantasy leagues.
