2019 RTSports Outlook

Fitzgerald was the top receiver in the Cardinals offense once again last season, catching 69 passes on 112 targets. His yardage total (734) was the lowest of his career, though. He had just one 100-yard game on the season and 10 of 16 games with fewer than 50 yards. His numbers suffered as the offense was a mess much of the year with rookie quarterback Josh Rosen struggling. Fitzgerald is back for another year and should see his fair share of targets in an offense that can be much better with an offensive guru now the head coach. Fitzgerald has 1,000-yard seasons three of four. He doesn't have elite speed, but runs great routes and has plus hands. Fitzgerald is as athletic as any receiver in the game and just has a knack for getting open. He catches nearly everything thrown his way and gets tons of targets. Fantasy Outlook: Fitzgerald finally saw his dip in production last year, but it wouldn't surprise to see him rebound from that some this year. A new coach and offense should be a big plus for Fitzgerald. He still has risk at his age and after last year, but his price tag should make him intriguing for fantasy teams. He can get around 80 receptions for 900 yard and seven touchdowns.

RotoBaller's Outlook

With 1,303 receptions for 16,279 yards and 116 touchdowns,Larry Fitzgerald is a first ballot Hall of Famer as soon as he decides to hang up his cleats. But what does he have in the tank for 2019?In a terrible offense in 2018, the entire Arizona offense was a dud. The offense ran the second fewest plays of any team in the league, and whether it be Sam Bradford or eventually Josh Rosen at the helm, the offensive line could not give either of them the time needed to have a solid season. This manifested itself in the stats of nearly all of their offensive weapons. Fitzgerald for example only managed a measly 69 receptions for 734 yards and six touchdowns, having put up three consecutive seasons of at least 100 receptions. Not only did fantasy owners have enough of the Wilkes and McCoy debacle but so did ownership. Enter Kliff Kingsbury and the air raid offense. However, it is not just the offensive scheme changes but also the addition of Kyler Murray, a quarterback seemingly built for the offense, which will help Fitzgerald attempt to bounce back from the WR28 finish in 2018. After a career of elite play, it would be beyond reprehensible for him to go out any other way than with a stellar final season. He is currently going off draft boards at WR44, as the last pick in the ninth round. Getting him here is an absolute steal as, even a simple repeat of last year would be an improvement, but he should far outperform that draft position in the new system. He is still going to be the slot receiver, but there is still value in that role. Will he finish as a top-12 WR as he did in 2015-2017? No. But a top-25 finish is well within reach for the best receiver of all-time not named Jerry Rice.

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald has been impressed by the quick learning by rookie quarterback Kyler Murray and his familiarity with the offense. "I know him running (Oklahoma head coach) Lincoln Riley's offense is very similar to what Coach Kliff (Kingsbury) runs," Fitzgerald says, "but on the first day he's calling audibles and getting us in plays that are favorable to the offense. So I was really impressed by his ability to take a leadership position first day at the offense." Fitzgerald also remarked that the Arizona offense will be much faster in tempo, with players expected to process pre-snap adjustments considerably faster. Fitzgerald is getting a little long in the tooth, but the up-tempo style should keep him rather productive heading into 2019. He's a reliable WR3/4 or flex fantasy option in most formats.

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald has been impressed with the tempo of new head coach Kliff Kingsbury's offense. The Cardinals ranked 20th in the league in pace (time between plays) in neutral situations last year, but that is expected to change drastically in 2019. Fitzgerald said the new offense contains less verbiage that when Bruce Arians was the head coach, and players are expected to process pre-snap adjustments faster. It means that Arizona's skill players should see more bulk this year, which is good for their fantasy value. The offense will ebb and flow based on how rookie quarterback Kyler Murray fares, but the early returns are very promising.

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald will move around the offensive formation this season so the team can keep defenses honest, according to head coach Kliff Kingsbury.

Fantasy Spin: Fitzgerald had a disappointing season in 2018 but should continue to have a solid role in the passing game. He has been a consistent contributor in fantasy leagues during his career and can still be considered a No. 3 receiver in most leagues.

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald has shown up to almost every voluntary workout so far during his 16th NFL offseason. 'I am hoping he enjoys the process and enjoys what the offense turns into and gives him a reason to stick around a few more years,' head coach Kliff Kingsbury said. 'But he practices and he plays like he's trying to make the team, and that's the biggest compliment I can give him. He doesn't need it, and you'd think he's starving out there. It's impressive to watch.'

Fantasy Spin: Fitzgerald is learning a new offense, and he is working with rookie Kyler Murray trying to develop a rapport. The veteran remains a freak of nature who refuses to allow Father Time to catch up to him. He had 69 grabs for 734 yards and six touchdowns in 2018, but the lower production was more due to a poor offense than anything on him. He remains a decent WR3/4 or flex fantasy option heading into 2019.

Arizona Cardinals RB David Johnson and WR Larry Fitzgerald were not present during practice Monday, May 20.

Fantasy Spin: Both Johnson and Fitzgerald could participate in practice later this offseason and should be on the field for mandatory minicamp. Johnson will be a No. 1 running back in fantasy leagues this upcoming season, while Fitzgerald could be a No. 3 receiver.

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald could reach 100 catches because of all the 'quick-rhythm throws' in head coach Kliff Kingsbury's offense, in the opinion of Bucky Brooks of NFL.com.

Fantasy Spin: Fitzgerald is coming off a down year, but with Kyler Murray under center and a pass-happy offense being installed, he could see an uptick in his numbers. While 100 catches may be a little optimistic, Fitzgerald is Arizona's most dependable receiver. It wouldn't be a shock to see him finish as a solid WR3.

Mar 7 1:13am ET

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald didn't want to wrap up his career after a poor 2018 season. 'We had a really bad season last year and I just didn't want to go out on that level,' Fitzgerald said on a podcast via the team's official website. 'You've got to live the rest of your life knowing you went out on that level.'

Fantasy Spin: Fitzgerald showed he still has plenty left in the tank, posting 69 grabs for 734 yards and six touchdowns in his 15th NFL season. However, his yardage total did mark a career low. He is more of a WR4 or WR5 in most fantasy leagues heading into 2019.

From TheHuddle

Jan 24 8:33am ET

Updating previous reports, Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald's one-year deal is worth nearly $16 million. He'll have an $11 million base salary and received a $4.85 million signing bonus.

Fantasy Spin: Fitz took a step back in fantasy last season, albeit the quarterback issues had something to do with it. That may not change in 2019, and he's a PPR WR3 target with minimal upside.
