2024 RTSports Outlook

Everett had a solid first season with the Chargers, finishing with career highs in receptions (58) and yards (555). He was 13th overall in fantasy tight end scoring, having six games with double-digit fantasy points. He was a consistent option in the Chargers passing attack. Everett has three straight seasons with 40-plus receptions. Everett has good speed, is a willing blocker and has the athleticism to make big plays in the passing game. His route running has improved since entering the league. Drops can be a concern for Everett, having 19 his last three seasons.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Everett is not the most exciting fantasy option but should be considered a solid No. 2 for fantasy teams. He will get his catches and have decent yardage totals for the position. Expect around 50 receptions for 500 yards and four touchdowns.

Updating a previous report, Free-agent TE Gerald Everett (Chargers) officially agreed to terms on a two-year contract with the Chicago Bears Wednesday, March 13. Financial terms were not disclosed, but an earlier report stated the deal is worth $12 million.

Mar 12 3:23pm ET

Updating a previous report, impending free-agent TE Gerald Everett (Chargers) reportedly agreed to terms on a two-year contract worth $12 million with the Chicago Bears on Tuesday, March 12. The deal could be worth up to $14 million including incentives and includes $6.1 million fully guaranteed.

Fantasy Spin: Everett's money is not exactly chump change, which means he figures to see plenty of playing time. That means Cole Kmet's fantasy value will take a hit even if new offensive coordinator Shane Waldron utilizes a lot of 12 personnel looks. Both tight ends could fall into the TE2 range if Chicago ends up adding a quality receiver in the first or second round of the draft. For now, consider Kmet a low-end TE1 and Everett a decent TE2 in fantasy.

Impending free-agent TE Gerald Everett (Chargers) reportedly agreed to terms on a contract with the Chicago Bears on Tuesday, March 12. Terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.

Fantasy Spin: The deal figures to be on the team-friendly side since Chicago just did a four-year extension worth $50 million with Cole Kmet last summer. The Seattle Seahawks always seemed to load up on tight ends under offensive coordinator Shane Waldron, so it is possible he is asking for the same now that he is in Chicago. Perhaps this move is more about adding quality depth and nothing more. Either way, Everett's addition figures to hurt Kmet's fantasy value at least a little bit. Perhaps Kmet becomes more of a low-end fantasy TE1 now instead of a mid-tier TE1.

From TheHuddle

Mar 12 3:00pm ET

The Chicago Bears have agreed to undisclosed terms with veteran free-agent tight end Gerald Everett on Tuesday, according to a source. Everett is heading into his age-30 season in 2024 and is coming off a year in which he caught a modest 51 passes on 70 targets for 411 receiving yards and three touchdowns in his second season with the Los Angeles Chargers in 15 games (12 starts). With the move to Chicago, where he's expected to play second fiddle to Cole Kmet, Everett can no longer be considered in the TE1 grouping in fantasy. In his seven-year career, Everett has never had more than 58 receptions, 478 yards or four touchdowns in a single season. There's basically no upside here for fantasy managers, especially with Chicago expected to be using a rookie quarterback in 2024. UPDATE: Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Everett will receive a two-year, $12 million base value deal from the Bears with a maximum value up to $14 million that includes $6.1 million fully guaranteed.

Los Angeles Chargers TE Gerald Everett (knee) exited the Week 18 game against the Kansas City Chiefs with a knee injury.

From TheHuddle

Jan 7 5:20pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers tight end Gerald Everett (knee) has been downgraded to out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He initially exited the game during the first quarter. At the time of his departure, Everett had caught one pass for 14 yards. The 29-year-old has recently emerged as one of the Chargers' top weapons, commanding 33 targets over his last four games, so losing him will hurt Los Angeles. Donald Parham Jr. should step up as the top tight end for Los Angeles. Everett finishes 2023 having caught 51 passes for 411 yards and three touchdowns.

Los Angeles Chargers tight end Gerald Everett (knee) exited during the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs and is officially questionable to return. At the time of his departure, he had caught one pass for 14 yards. The 29-year-old has recently emerged as one of the Chargers' top weapons, commanding 33 targets over his last four games. Donald Parham Jr. will step up as the top tight end for Los Angeles until Everett is able to return.

From RotoBaller

Jan 4 6:30pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers tight end Gerald Everett could have a strong end to his season in a Week 18 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Everett has taken on a larger role in the second half of the season with injuries striking several LA pass catchers. With Keenan Allen (heel) likely out and Joshua Palmer (concussion) questionable at best, Everett should have another big role on Sunday afternoon. He has a solid floor and some touchdown upside, making him a solid TE1 for the final week of the season.

Dec 31 8:10pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers tight end Gerald Everett made four catches in a Week 17 loss to the Denver Broncos. Everett saw a team-high nine targets, making the four catches for 31 yards including a long gain of 22 yards. Everett has turned into one of the top two receiving targets on this awful version of the Chargers offense and has turned in a decently high TE floor each week. He'll wrap up the season in Week 18 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Dec 31 7:53pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers TE Gerald Everett was good for four receptions for 31 yards on nine targets in Week 17 against the Denver Broncos, while also rushing once for six yards.

From TheHuddle

Dec 28 6:10pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers tight end Gerald Everett could see a few extra targets this week in a Week 17 game against the Denver Broncos. Everett has taken on a large role in the passing game in the second half of the season, and with wide receivers Keenan Allen (heel) and Joshua Palmer (concussion) both questionable to suit up at best, Everett could end up as the top receiving option for the Bolts. It's still a bad offense, possibly the leagues worst right now, but Everett has a decent floor and a little bit of upside, leaving him somewhere in the top-15 fantasy tight ends for this week's games.

From RotoBaller

Dec 24 12:20am ET

Los Angeles Chargers tight end Gerald Everett made a team-high seven catches in a Week 16 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Everett tied for the team lead in targets with eight, and made the most catches with his seven. He was second on the team in receiving yards with 42. In a dilapidated Chargers offense, Everett has essentially become the WR2, and may continue in that role if Keenan Allen (heel) doesn't suit up next week against the Denver Broncos.

From RotoBaller

Dec 23 11:33pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers TE Gerald Everett caught seven of his eight targets for 42 yards in a 24-22 loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 16.

From TheHuddle

Dec 21 4:50pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers tight end Gerald Everett has seen his fantasy arrow pointing up lately and has a decent matchup in a Week 16 game against the Buffalo Bills. Everett has been the fantasy TE13 in the past four weeks, even with Easton Stick in there for two of those games. The Bills have allowed the 13th-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends, and it's one of the few ways their defense can be exploited. Everett doesn't have a ton of upside with Stick under center, but he has a decent floor and should be in starting lineups in most 2TE formats.

From RotoBaller

Dec 15 1:33am ET

Los Angeles Chargers TE Gerald Everett was targeted a team-high eight times against the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday, Dec. 14. He caught five passes for 41 yards.

Los Angeles Chargers tight end Gerald Everett made five catches in a 63-21 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 15. Everett was targeted a team-high eight times, making an also team-high five catches for 41 yards. Everett remains heavily involved in the Chargers passing game, but this offense will be among the worst in the NFL to close out the season, making him a TE2 at best going forward.

From RotoBaller

Dec 13 6:03pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers TE Gerald Everett (hip) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Dec. 13, and is not on the injury report for Week 15. The Chargers did not hold a practice Wednesday, so his practice participation is an estimation.

Fantasy Spin: Everett may see more targets this week since Easton Stick will be the starting quarterback and Keenan Allen has been ruled out. He can be a low-end No. 1 tight end in deeper leagues this week.

From TheHuddle

Dec 13 5:50pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers tight end Gerald Everett (hip) is off the injury report and good to go for Thursday night's Week 15 game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Everett was limited in practice earlier in the week, but he was able to practice in full on Wednesday and will go into the game with no injury designation. With Keenan Allen (heel) ruled out, there may be a few more targets heading Everett's way, although they'll be thrown by backup quarterback Easton Stick, leaving Everett as a TE2 at best.

From RotoBaller

Dec 12 7:23pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers TE Gerald Everett (hip) was limited at practice for the second consecutive day on Tuesday, Dec. 12. The practice report was an estimate after the Chargers only conducted a walkthrough.

Fantasy Spin: Everett has had three of his best games of the season the last three weeks, ranking as TE9 overall in that span. But there's concern this week with all Chargers pass-catchers after Justin Herbert (finger) was ruled out for the season, which forces Easton Stick into the lineup. Consider Everett a shaky TE2 play in Week 15.

From TheHuddle

Dec 12 3:53pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers WR Keenan Allen (heel) and DB Deane Leonard (ankle, heel) did not practice on Tuesday, Dec. 12. TE Gerald Everett (hip), OG Zion Johnson (ankle), DL Sebastian Joseph-Day (ankle), LB Amen Ogbongbemiga (hamstring), DL Otito Ogbonnia (knee), TE Donald Parham (shoulder) and DL Nick Williams (shoulder) were limited. LB Justin Hollins (knee), LB Kenneth Murray (shoulder) and WR Joshua Palmer (knee) practiced in full. The Chargers held a walk-through on Tuesday, so the report is an estimation.
