New England Patriots LB Dont'a Hightower recorded 13 tackles (nine solo, one for loss) against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9.

From TheHuddle

Nov 4 12:40am ET

The New England Patriots Defense is a mortal unit after all, recording only one sack in the Patriots 37-20 loss to the Ravens. Baltimore's offense was a problem from the first snap of the game and the Patriots defense allowed 210 rushing yards in the game. For a unit that allowed only 43 points all season, the Patriots defense surrendered 30 in this surprisingly poor effort. New England's defense still is the highest scoring fantasy defense this season but vulnerabilities were exposed. The team will regroup during their bye week and return to action in Week 11.

New England Patriots SS Patrick Chung (chest, heel), TE Ryan Izzo (concussion), TE Matt LaCosse (knee), OG Shaq Mason (ankle) and WR Gunner Olszewski (ankle, hamstring) were limited during practice Friday, Nov. 1, and are listed as questionable for Week 9.

From TheHuddle

Nov 1 4:40pm ET

The New England Patriots Defense is shattering fantasy records this season but will face their toughest test of the season against a Ravens offense in Week 9. Baltimore is allowing the seventh fewest fantasy points to opposing defenses this season and have turned the ball over only seven times this season. The Patriots defense has been fantastic this season, racking up six fumble recoveries, six touchdowns, 19 interceptions and 31 sacks through the first eight games. They have allowed only 43 points all season and currently have the eighth highest fantasy score among all players this season. Despite the tough matchup, the Patriots are a top defensive play in Week 9.

Oct 28 12:03am ET

New England Patriots LB Jamie Collins recorded 13 tackles, including 12 total stops, 1.5 sacks and a tackle for loss in a 27-13 win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 8.

Fantasy Spin: After a few quiet weeks, Collins turned in a monster performance. There are steadier IDP options out there, but Collins' ability to stuff the stat sheet gives him a lot of upside.

From TheHuddle

Oct 27 8:10pm ET

The New England Patriots Defense recorded one interception, two fumble recoveries and five sacks in the team's 27-13 domination of the Browns in Week 8. Another week, another fantastic performance for New England's defense. The Patriots defense rattled the Browns offense early and often, building up an early 10-0 lead thanks to a fumble recovery touchdown by Dont'a Hightower. The Browns passing game totaled only 151 yards as quarterback Baker Mayfield was sacked five times. The Patriots defense now has not allowed more than 14 points all season and the team is now 8-0. The vaunted unit will continue to be the top play among fantasy defenses heading into Week 9.

OL Shaquille Mason (ankle), RB Rex Burkhead (foot), S Patrick Chung (heel, chest), WR Julian Edelman (chest) and WR Gunner Olszewski (ankle, hamstring) were limited. WR Phillip Dorsett (hamstring) was upgraded to a full practice.

From TheHuddle

Oct 24 4:40pm ET

The New England Patriots Defense has emerged as the dominant unit in the NFL and now will have a juicy matchup against the turnover-prone Browns in Week 8. The Patriots already have 15 interceptions on the season and now will go up against a quarterback in Baker Mayfield who has thrown 11 interceptions in only six games. The Patriots have allowed only 48 points all season and now will face a Browns offense that is allowing the sixth most fantasy points to the defenses they face. The Patriots defense is a sure-fire fantasy play in Week 8.

Free-agent DB Justin Bethel (Ravens) visited with the New England Patriots on Tuesday, Oct. 22.

From TheHuddle

Oct 22 3:20am ET

The New England Patriots Defense stifled the Jets from the opening drive as the team cruised to a 33-0 win on Monday Night Football. The Jets offense rarely stood a chance as the Patriots held Jets quarterback Sam Darnold to a 34% completion percentage, 86 passing yards and a quarterback rating of 3.6. New England also intercepted Darnold four times and the unit now has two shutouts on the season. The Patriots defense has quickly emerged as, by far, the best defense in the NFL and will be the top fantasy option at the position heading into Week 8's action.

From RotoBaller

Oct 22 12:23am ET

New England Patriots FS Devin McCourty and CB Stephon Gilmore each had interceptions in the Week 7 game against the New York Jets, as did FS Terrence Brooks and CB Duron Harmon. Special teams maven WR Matthew Slater and LB Kyle Van Noy also had fumble recoveries, as the Patriots won the turnover battle 6-0.

From TheHuddle

Oct 22 12:23am ET

New England Patriots LB Kyle Van Noy registered five total tackles with a fumble recovery in the Week 7 game against the New York Jets. It appeared he had a scoop and score, but it was ruled his leg was grazed by a Jets player when he was down on the ground, so the touchdown was taken off of the board.
