Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Devin Smith could be back in the starting lineup for a key Week 7 contest against the Philadelphia Eagles. With Amari Cooper (quad) and Randall Cobb (back) both questionable at best for Sunday Night Football, Smith could play the biggest role he's played all season against an Eagles pass defense that barely exists. Smith, as usual, will be a boom-or-bust play in fantasy, but could be a solid DFS value if Cooper and Cobb are both out.

The Dallas Cowboys have declared OG Adam Redmond, WR Devin Smith, OT La'el Collins, DT Trysten Hill, OT Tyron Smith, DE Joe Jackson and WR Randall Cobb inactive for Week 6.

From TheHuddle

Oct 9 3:00pm ET

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Devin Smith is no longer a fantasy option in most formats. With Michael Gallup back and playing well, Smith will be relegated to maybe one or two deep balls per game. That's a far too inconsistent role to trot a guy out in a standard lineup. Smith could still be worth something in best ball formats, but outside of those leagues, he should be on most waiver wires.

The Dallas Cowboys have declared OG Adam Redmond, WR Devin Smith, DL Antwaun Woods, OT Tyron Smith, DL Tyrone Crawford, WR Cedrick Wilson and DE Joe Jackson inactive for Week 5.

From TheHuddle

Oct 2 12:00pm ET

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Devin Smith is not a starting option in almost any format for Week 5. The Cowboys will be fighting against a strong Green Bay Packers pass defense, and Smith's game simply doesn't match well with the Packers defensive game plan. Smith has been serving as Dak Prescott's deep threat, but with an excellent pass rush and a strong secondary coming up on the other side of the ball, it's not likely that the Cowboys will play the deep game well. Smith's fantasy value is hanging by a thread in standard leagues, he was always a better option in best ball formats.

Sep 30 12:40am ET

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Devin Smith wasn't able to catch his only target in a Week 4 loss. Smith had a larger role last week and was expected to serve as the deep threat with Michael Gallup (knee) out, but the Cowboys couldn't get much of anything going against a strong Saints Defense. Smith's fantasy value is hanging by a thread and that thread will be cut as soon as Gallup returns.

From RotoBaller

Sep 25 1:00pm ET

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Devin Smith is a low-floor albeit high-ceiling play in Week 4. The Cowboys travel to New Orleans to take on the Saints in what should be a close game. With Michael Gallup (knee) out again, Smith should serve the deep threat/seam stretcher role and could come down with another long touchdown. Playing in a role similar to that of DeSean Jackson's Washington days, Smith is just as likely to have a huge fantasy day as he is to put up a total of zero points. He's better for DFS and best ball formats than for weekly lineups because of that risk.

From RotoBaller

Sep 22 7:43pm ET

Dallas Cowboys WR Devin Smith was good for two receptions for 39 yards on five targets in Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins.

Fantasy Spin: Smith was expected to see an uptick in production with Michael Gallup sidelined, but his workload was curtailed with more of a ground-based attack once the game started getting out of hand. Smith has some fantasy appeal heading into Week 4 against the New Orleans Saints in a game which is expected to be much closer.

From TheHuddle

Sep 22 7:20pm ET

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Devin Smith caught two passes in Week 3, gaining 39 yards. Smith was expected to have an expanded role with Michael Gallup (knee) out, but with the Cowboys easily coasting against the Miami Dolphins, the passing game was mostly not needed. Smith should have a decent role next week, but will take a back seat as soon as Gallup returns.

From RotoBaller

Sep 21 12:23pm ET

Dallas Cowboys WR Devin Smith is feeling comfortable with the team and his health after recovering from two major knee injuries. 'Everything that I've been doing has helped me get to this point,' said Smith, who had 74 yards receiving Sunday, Sept. 15 against the Washington Redskins after entering the game with 135 career yards and one TD from 14 games over his first two seasons in 2015-16 with the New York Jets. 'So I don't really want to change anything. I don't want to overhype myself or overthink anything. I just want to stay even keel and just go out here, just work hard every single day and try to have a great performance on Sunday.'

Fantasy Spin: Smith is an intriguing deep-league WR consideration over the next few weeks with fellow wideout Michael Gallup out with a knee injury.

From TheHuddle

Sep 18 3:10pm ET

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Devin Smith will potentially be working in a starting role in Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins. Smith hauled in all three of his targets for 74 yards and a touchdown in Week 2. With Michael Gallup (knee) out for this game and Randall Cobb likely sticking to the slot, Smith could jump into Gallup's role and make significant noise in fantasy leagues. He's a risky start, but could pay off in a big way, especially in DFS formats. Coach Jason Garrett has already said that Smith, "obviously will play more" in Week 3.

From RotoBaller

Sep 16 11:13pm ET

Dallas Cowboys WR Devin Smith is expected to see a larger role in the offense following the injury to WR Michael Gallup (knee). 'Devin obviously will play more,' head coach Jason Garrett said Monday, Sept. 16.

Fantasy Spin: Smith went for three receptions and 74 yards, including a 51-yard touchdown, in Week 2 against the Washington Redskins. He is worth a look as a WR5 in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams heading into Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins. Just the fact the Cowboys are facing the hapless Dolphins might mean a huge week of production.

From TheHuddle

Sep 16 5:50pm ET

Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said that wide receiver Devin Smith "will play more" with Michael Gallup (knee) being out two to four weeks. Smith will be in on three-receiver sets alongside Amari Cooper and Randall Cobb, beginning with a great matchup in Week 3 at home against the hapless Dolphins. The 27-year-old caught all three of his targets in Week 2 for 74 yards, including a 51-yard touchdown. He has sleeper appeal in DFS as a boom-or-bust deep threat until Gallup returns, and Week 3 against Miami might be his best chance to help fantasy owners.
