New Orleans Saints CB Marshon Lattimore is not a candidate to be traded at this time even though the team drafted CB Kool-Aid McKinstry, according to general manager Mickey Loomis.

The New Orleans Saints signed free-agent cornerback Will Harris on Wednesday, according to NFL.com. Harris spent the first five seasons of his professional career with the Detroit Lions after being selected in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Through the first 81 games (40 starts) of his career, Harris has racked up 246 tackles, 1.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, two interceptions, and 14 pass deflections. Marshon Lattimore, Paulson Adebo, Alontae Taylor, and second-round rookie Kool-Aid McKinstry form a strong two-deep depth chart at cornerback, but Harrison also has experience as a safety. He could be a primary backup for Jordan Howden or Tyrann Mathieu if he makes the team's 53-man roster.

The Cleveland Browns signed veteran center Brian Allen, according to his agency. The 28-year-old was selected with the No. 111 overall pick (fourth round) by the Los Angeles Rams in the 2018 NFL Draft and played in 50 games (32 starts) for the organization. However, his role in L.A. faded over the last two seasons, as he started just seven games in 2022 due to injuries and did not log a start in 2023 after losing the position battle to Coleman Shelton. He'll likely compete with third-year center Dawson Deaton for the backup center job behind Ethan Pocic in Cleveland this year.

Longtime NFL defensive back Chris Harris Jr. is retiring after 12 seasons. The 34-year-old was originally undrafted out of Kansas in the class of 2011 and played nine years with the Denver Broncos, two years with the Los Angeles Chargers, and one year with the New Orleans Saints. The four-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro selection compiled 621 tackles, six sacks, seven forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, 22 interceptions, and 101 pass deflections in 172 career games. He started opposite Aqib Talib for the legendary 2015 Broncos' defense that won Super Bowl 50 in Peyton Manning's final year in the NFL. Harris is not a Hall of Fame candidate on paper, but he enjoyed a spectacular career, especially considering he went undrafted.

With the No. 41 pick of the 2024 NFL Draft, the Saints selected Alabama cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry. New Orleans traded with Green Bay for this pick, so the 21-year-old will fill a void on the defensive side of the ball. McKinstry, a 2023 All-American, played three seasons at Alabama. He totaled 93 tackles (62 solo), adding two picks, two sacks, and 23 passes defensed. With the Saints looking to finish atop the NFC South in 2024-25, McKinstry should play a pivotal role right out of the gate.

The New Orleans Saints re-signed cornerback Shemar Jean-Charles on Monday after not tendering him as a restricted free agent. Jean-Charles spent the 2023 campaign with the San Francisco 49ers and Saints and will now return to the Big Easy in 2024 after finishing last year with a combined four tackles (three solo) in eight games (zero starts) with both teams. The 25-year-old Florida native was originally a fifth-round selection by the Green Bay Packers in 2021 out of Appalachian State and spent the first two seasons of his NFL career in Green Bay, recording just seven solo tackles in 20 games played (zero starts). Jean-Charles will merely be hoping to make New Orleans' active roster this summer out of training camp.

The New Orleans Saints are signing former Washington Commanders linebacker and special teamer Khaleke Hudson to an undisclosed one-year deal on Thursday, according to a source. Before deciding to sign with New Orleans, Hudson visited with the Pittsburgh Steelers recently. The 26-year-old was originally a fifth-round selection (162nd overall) by the Commanders in 2020 out of Michigan. In his first four years in the NFL in D.C., Hudson tallied 108 tackles (60 solo), one sack, seven tackles for loss and five QB hits in 58 games played (12 starts). He had a career-high 74 tackles (44 solo), his first career sack and five tackles for loss in 17 games (eight starts) for Washington in 2023. Hudson will most likely serve in a special teams role for the Saints in 2024 and can be avoided in IDP fantasy formats.

New Orleans Saints DE Cameron Jordan (ankle) will be a limited participant during offseason workouts because he is recovering from ankle surgery, according to head coach Dennis Allen.

New Orleans Saints linebacker Nephi Sewell (knee), who tore his ACL in Week 17, is not expected to be ready to go for training camp this summer, according to head coach Dennis Allen. Given the timing of Sewell's injury late last year, nobody should be expecting him to be ready for training camp, let alone the start of the 2024 regular season. The 25-year-old was a depth linebacker for the Saints last year while also contributing on special teams. In the 16 games he appeared in, Sewell didn't make any starts and finished with 15 tackles (11 solo) and one forced fumble. He entered the NFL with the Saints in 2022 as an undrafted free agent after playing college ball at both Nevada and Utah.

The New Orleans Saints re-signed safety Johnathan Abram to an undisclosed deal on Wednesday after re-signing defensive back Ugo Amadi on Tuesday. The Saints lost some depth in their secondary this year by releasing safety Marcus Maye and letting cornerbacks Isaac Yiadom and Lonnie Johnson Jr. to move on in free agency, so keeping both Abram and Amadi allows them to keep some of their depth intact. Abram, a 27-year-old former 27th overall pick by the Las Vegas Raiders in 2019 out of Mississippi State, played in just nine games (three starts) for the Saints last year and had 26 tackles (14 solo), an interception and a forced fumble. He hasn't lived up to his first-round draft stock in his five NFL seasons, mainly because of injuries.

Recently signed New Orleans Saints edge defender Chase Young (neck) is scheduled to undergo a neck procedure that is expected to sideline him for training camp, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. This was announced after he reached a one-year, $13 million deal with New Orleans, but the teams he spoke to apparently knew about it. Nonetheless, the Saints were comfortable with signing him under these conditions. Young, the former No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, has posted 16.5 sacks through his first 43 games with the Washington Commanders and San Francisco 49ers. With Cameron Jordan and Carl Granderson already in the edge rotation, Young has the upside to make this a strong pass-rushing unit in 2024. He is expected to be ready for the start of the regular season.

Mar 18 6:10pm ET

The New Orleans Saints are expected to sign former San Francisco 49ers pass-rusher Chase Young to an undisclosed deal, according to a source. The 2020 No. 2 overall pick out of Ohio State will get a fresh start in New Orleans in 2024. Young was named the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2020 with the Washington Commanders when he had a career-high 44 tackles (32 solo), 7.5 sacks, 10 tackles for loss, 12 QB hits, four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries (one returned for a touchdowns) in 15 starts, but he played in just 12 games in the next two seasons, which is why the Commanders moved on. The 24-year-old combined for another 7.5 sacks last year with Washington and San Fran, though, and another bounce-back year could be in store for him in the Big Easy if he's able to stay healthy.

Former New Orleans Saints safety Marcus Maye (shoulder) is drawing interest from several teams in free agency and will visit with the Tennessee Titans on Monday, according to a source. Maye was released by the Saints to begin the new league year after playing in only seven games last year while picking up 37 tackles (27 solo), one sack and two interceptions. The 31-year-old has played in only 31 combined games over the last three seasons due to various injuries. The New York Jets originally took Maye in the second round of the 2017 draft out of Florida. He's going to need to prove that he's healthy for another team to take a chance on him as secondary depth. Maye has started all 77 games that he's appeared in over seven NFL seasons and has racked up 409 tackles (288 solo), 4.5 sacks, 12 tackles for loss, eight interceptions, 28 passes defended, five forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.

Free-agent pass-rusher Chase Young is expected to visit with the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints this week, according to a source. The 2020 Defensive Rookie of the Year is still only 24 years old and is receiving interest from a handful of teams. Young, the second overall pick by the Washington Commanders in 2020 out of Ohio State, made the Pro Bowl in his first NFL season and recorded 7.5 sacks in 15 games. However, injuries limited him to a combined 12 games in 2021 and 2022 before he bounced back with 7.5 sacks in 16 games (six starts) with the Commanders and San Francisco 49ers last year. San Fran has already added two defensive linemen in free agency, so it's unlikely that Young will be returning to the Bay Area in 2024. Another year removed from injury, Young could be a sleeper defensive lineman in IDP fantasy leagues.

The New Orleans Saints signed safety Tyrann Mathieu to a restructured two-year, $13 million contract extension on Thursday. Mathieu, one of the Saints' leaders on defense, will remain with the team for the next two seasons at the minimum. The veteran safety logged 75 total tackles and four interceptions while appearing in all 17 games for the Saints in 2023.
