2024 RTSports Outlook

Allen had another big season, finishing second overall in fantasy quarterback scoring. He had seven games with 30-plus fantasy points. Allen had 42 total touchdowns and threw for more than 4,200 yards. He even battled an elbow injury much of the second half of the season, which likely impacted his play. A healthy Allen could improve his numbers from last year. Allen has three straight seasons with 4,200-plus passing yards and 40-plus touchdowns. He is one of the best in the game right now and should be for years to come. He plays in a great offense that caters to his talents. Allen has a huge arm, great size and moves around well for a man of his size. Allen has all the tools needed to be an elite NFL quarterback. His accuracy has improved but isn't that of some of the other top quarterbacks in football. And his decision making continues to get better, but can be an issue at times. He will force some throws. Allen runs very well, posting big rushing numbers on almost a weekly basis.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: You can make a case for Allen to be the first quarterback off the board. He posts big numbers on a weekly basis and is in the prime of his career. We would not be surprised if his numbers improve after battling an elbow injury last year. He might have a career best season this year. Look for Allen to throw for around 4,500 yards with 40 total scores and around 600-rushing yards.

The Buffalo Bills are signing veteran center Will Clapp, according to Ari Meirov of the 33rd Team. The 2018 seventh-round pick out of LSU began his career with the New Orleans Saints before spending two seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers. He has 65 games of NFL experience (21 starts). The Bills recently released Pro Bowl center Mitch Morse, so Clapp will add depth to the position. Connor McGovern is likely the favorite to start at center in Josh Allen's offense this year, but Clapp could make a push for extra reps during training camp.

Three-time Pro Bowl left tackle Dion Dawkins signed a three-year, $60.5 million contract extension with the Buffalo Bills on Monday, according to sources. The deal makes Dawkins the fourth highest-paid offensive tackle in the NFL. The 29-year-old former second-round pick by Buffalo out of Temple in 2017 has been a rock since landing in the NFL for the organization and has started 106 of his 112 games. He's made the Pro Bowl each of the last three seasons and has been a strong blind-side protector for Pro Bowl quarterback Josh Allen. Dawkins finished with the best pass-block win rate of his career in 2023 at 93.3 percent, and Allen was sacked the fewest times in his career (24) behind an offensive line that saw five starters start every game. Dawkins will continue to anchor on O-line in Buffalo that will look a little different at other positions.

The Buffalo Bills restructured the contract of quarterback Josh Allen on Monday, converting much of his 2024 compensation into a signing bonus to create $16.7 million in 2024 salary cap space. Allen's updated 2024 cap charge is now $30.356 million. The Bills are in a slightly better situation salary cap-wise, although they did lose receiver Gabe Davis in free agency to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday. Salary cap issues for the Bills aside, the 27-year-old Allen dealt with a right-shoulder issue midway through the 2023 season but never missed a game and finished as the most valuable fantasy QB with 4,306 passing yards, 29 touchdowns and 18 interceptions, but what made him elite were his 524 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns in 17 regular-season games. He'll be one of the first signal-callers to be selected in the early rounds of fantasy drafts this fall.

Dynasty | The Bills have signed quarterback Mitch Trubisky. Dynasty Analysis: The Truth Biscuit gets $5.25 million to once again be the backup to Josh Allen. Trubisky had one more chance to prove he was capable of being a high-level starter in the league but he struggled in his short-time with Pittsburgh. He'll be one injury away from relevance again but hardly worth a dynasty roster spot at this point in his career. It turns out Patrick Mahomes was indeed a better draft choice that season.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are expected to place the franchise tag on pass-rusher Josh Allen on Tuesday by the deadline, according to a source. The team has expressed confidence in getting a long-term deal done with Allen by the deadline in mid-July, but if they can't, he'll be on the books for 2024 at $24 million. The 26-year-old has quickly become one of the best pass-rushers in football. Since being selected with the seventh overall pick in 2019 out of Kentucky, he has accumulated 45 sacks, 251 tackles (162 solo), 53 tackles for loss, 103 QB hits, two interceptions, eight passes defensed, nine forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries (one returned for a touchdown) in five seasons. Allen was the No. 5 defensive lineman in IDP fantasy leagues in 2023 with a career-high 17.5 sacks in 17 starts.

From TheHuddle

Feb 17 10:13pm ET

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen has scored 42 or more touchdowns in each of the last four seasons.

Fantasy Spin: Allen has become of the top dual-threat weapons in the NFL, and he is probably the safest bet as the No. 1 fantasy option at the quarterback spot.

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen (shoulder) said his right shoulder felt much better in the final month of play. 'It just felt like it kept getting better as the season went on. And especially these last probably four weeks, felt like it didn't bother me at all,' Allen said. 'So yeah, I don't think there's anything.'

Fantasy Spin: Allen basically confirmed what the team's management had said, which is that he doesn't require offseason shoulder surgery. Allen is a tremendous option in dynasty leagues, and he'll once again be a top-tier fantasy option in 2024, with serious consideration as the first quarterback off of the draft board.

The Bills named Joe Brady their full-time offensive coordinator on Sunday. Buffalo began the 2023-24 campaign with Ken Dorsey holding the position. However, the team's offense struggled under Dorsey this season, resulting in his dismissal in November. But things improved when Brady took over, eventually resulting in the Bills capturing the AFC East title. Nonetheless, Brady's presence could continue to have a positive impact on Buffalo's offense, especially on Josh Allen, who was the best fantasy signal-caller throughout the year.

Jan 28 2:20pm ET

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen (shoulder) popped up on the injury report in week 7 with a right-shoulder injury but never missed a game the entire season despite staying on the injury report with the shoulder issue until Week 16. At his season-ending press conference, Allen said he's not planning to have any type of surgery on his shoulder. "It just felt like it kept getting better as the season went on," Allen said. "And especially these last probably four weeks, felt like it didn't bother me at all. So yeah, I don't think there's anything." While his shoulder affected him at times, Allen said he's feeling good now and is looking forward to having a normal offseason. The 27-year-old was the QB1 overall for fantasy during the regular season and will be one of the first few signal-callers off the board in 2024 drafts.

Jan 25 12:50pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars general manager Trent Baalke said that pass-rusher Josh Allen, who is set to be an unrestricted free agent this March after posting 17.5 sacks (third in the NFL) in 2023, will be back in 2024. "Josh Allen is going to be a Jaguar next year," Baalke said. Negotiations between the two sides haven't started yet, but it's definitive Allen isn't going anywhere, and the franchise tag is available if the Jaguars need to use it. The former No. 7 overall pick now has 45 sacks in 74 career games for Jacksonville and has become of the best pass-rushers in the league, so it makes sense why the Jags are so adamant about not letting him hit the open market. The two-time Pro Bowler will most likely become one of the highest-paid pass-rushers in the NFL and will also be a high-end defensive lineman in IDP leagues in 2024.

Jan 23 6:30pm ET

Buffalo's QB Josh Allen scored an impressive 32.50 fantasy points in Sunday's playoff loss against the Chiefs. Allen threw for 186 yards on 26-of-39 with one touchdown. Allen scored at least 25 fantasy points a stunning 12 times during the regular season.

Jan 23 12:10pm ET

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen wants offensive coordinator Joe Brady to return in 2024. Brady took over the offensive-coordinator role after head coach Sean McDermott fired Ken Dorsey in the middle of the 2023 season. Brady is a candidate for the Atlanta Falcons' head-coaching job, and it's unclear if Buffalo will offer the offensive coordinator job full time. "I would fully embrace it," Allen said when asked about keeping Brady in place. "I love Joe. I love what he brings to this team, to our offense, the juice that he has, the passion that he has for football. How much preparation he's put into a tough situation these last seven to eight weeks." The Bills became more of a running team with Brady calling the plays, which would certainly benefit running back James Cook next season if Brady sticks around.

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen (shoulder) said he does not need surgery on his injured shoulder at this point.

Fantasy Spin: Allen may be limited during offseason workouts but should be fine for the start of training camp. He played very well during the second half of the season and should be a No. 1 quarterback in all fantasy leagues next season.

From TheHuddle

Jan 22 12:00am ET

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen totaled three touchdowns as his team was eliminated from the postseason in Sunday's 27-24 Divisional Round loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, completing 26-of-39 for 186 yards and adding 72 yards on 12 carries. The Bills imposed their will in the trenches during the first half, which was punctuated by short Allen rushing scores on two QB keepers. Allen found Khalil Shakir from 13 yards out to continue Sunday's seesaw affair, putting Buffalo up temporarily in the third quarter. With the loss, the Bills fell in the Divisional Round at home in back-to-back years. And after the Chiefs held Allen to a season-low 5.5 yards per attempt in Week 14, they doubled down to allow 4.8 YPA on Sunday. Buffalo's offseason moves remain to be seen, but it's clear that impending free agent Gabe Davis' (knee) absence was felt with Stefon Diggs scuffling down the stretch. Regardless, Allen will be a top-two QB1 in 2024 fantasy drafts.

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen completed 26 of his 39 passes for 186 yards and a touchdown and rushed 12 times for 72 yards and two scores in a 27-24 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in their AFC Divisional Round playoff game.

Jan 20 12:40am ET

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen finished as the wild-card weekend's overall QB1 with 33.5 fantasy points in Monday's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. For the third time in the last four postseasons, Allen will lock up with fellow superstar signal-caller Patrick Mahomes in Sunday's Divisional Round versus the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs held opposing QBs to the second-fewest yards per attempt (5.4) in the regular season, and Allen felt their wrath back when these teams met in Week 14 for his single-game low in YPA (5.5). Luckily for Allen, his dual-threat prowess should come in handy against a man-heavy K.C. defense that allowed an NFL-high 91 carries to QBs as well as the ninth-most rushing yards (342) to the position this year. In six matchups all told with the Chiefs since 2020, Allen is averaging 269.1 passing yards with an overall 15:3 TD:INT alongside 53.5 rushing yards and two total rushing scores.

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen (neck) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 19, and is not on the injury report for the Divisional Round playoff game. The Bills did not hold a practice Friday, so his practice participation is an estimation.
