2019 RTSports Outlook

Lockett had his best season as a pro, leading the Seahawks at receiver many weeks. He was just 35 yards shy of a 1,000-yard season and scored a career-high 10 touchdowns. He also had a career-high 57 receptions. He ran for 69 yards, giving him 1,034 total yards on the season. Lockett was 16th overall in fantasy receiver scoring. He had just one 100-yard game but at least three receptions all but four games. Lockett will continue to start and play a big role in the Sea-hawks passing game. Lockett isn't the biggest receiver but runs great routes and makes plays with the ball in his hands. He can turn a short pass into a big play. He also is a great return man and can do well rushing the ball. Fantasy Outlook: Lockett might have reached his ceiling last year. He could have a hard time besting that, especially since his reception totals aren't off the charts. But even with that said, he should be considered a top No. 3 fantasy receiver. He has big-game potential. Look for around 60 receptions for 900 yards and seven touchdowns.

RotoBaller's Outlook

Coming off a career season in 2018, Seattle Seahawks receiver Tyler Lockett is poised to make even more noise in 2019 following the sudden retirement of slot receiver Doug Baldwin. Lockett had taken over as Seattle's No. 1 receiver last year, when he hauled in 57 receptions for 965 yards and 10 touchdowns, all career highs. Now, with Baldwin out of the picture, Lockett should continue to see the majority of targets from Russell Wilson. The big question is whether Lockett will line up in the slot to replace Baldwin, or if he will stay on the outside. If hes in the slot, hell get a boost in PPR formats thanks to more targets, but his overall yards per catch will go down, and it could have a negative impact on his touchdown totals as well. Reports have indicated he will be in the slot, but that depends on how rookie Gary Jennings looks for Seattle in training camp. If he stays outside, he will be competing for touches with hulking rookie DK Metcalf. Either way, Lockett possesses the speed and reliable hands to make him a receiver target in the late fifth or early sixth round of standard 10-team leagues. If he ends up in the slot, he gets a boost in PPR formats as well.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett will have plenty of pressure on him once the regular season starts and he's the No. 1 target, but for now, he's still just working the kinks out and letting the young DBs see what it's like to guard a big-time receiver. Along that line, it's pretty clear that he can run them ragged. While the secondary has been putting on a clinic, as most Pete Carroll secondaries do, once the combination of Russell Wilson and Tyler Lockett step on the field, the whole game changes. Wilson regularly completes shots all over the field to Lockett, especially downfield if he gets some time. Lockett is poised for a huge season if he can keep this level of connection with Wilson.

The Seattle Seahawks see big things in wide receiver Tyler Lockett, even if he's not very large. With the retirement of their steady No. 1 receiver Doug Baldwin over the offseason, Seattle will be trying to fill big shoes in the passing game. It all begins with Lockett. Lockett had a breakout season in 2018 as Baldwin dealt with injuries that would eventually end his career, and it looks like the torch can be passed in most ways. Both are small, quick receivers who run excellent routes and have steady hands, so the feel of the offense shouldn't change dramatically. The real question will be how much use Lockett will get, even if he is the go-to guy. Seattle is notorious for spreading the ball around and not letting Russell Wilson do too much of the work, but there's no clear-cut No. 2 receiver behind Lockett, so he will likely see the vast majority of the looks, especially on third down.

Seattle Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett led the league with a perfect 158.3 passer rating when targeted 20 or more yards downfield (minimum 15 targets) in 2018.

Fantasy Spin: Lockett will be counted on to be much more than just a deep threat this season with Doug Baldwin now out of the picture and should be valued as a low-end WR2.

Jun 6 10:03pm ET

Seattle Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett has been working out of the slot in three-receiver sets during spring practices.

Fantasy Spin: Lockett was a dangerous weapon down the field last year, and working out of the slot could put the ball in his hands more often and create even more big-play opportunities. For now, consider him a high-risk, high-reward WR3.

From TheHuddle

Jun 5 4:40pm ET

Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer said that wide receiver Tyler Lockett will be moved around a lot this year. With Doug Baldwin retired, the 26-year-old will be Seattle's unquestioned No. 1 wideout in 2019. That'll give him the chance to top his career highs across the board last year in receptions (57), yards (965) and touchdowns (10). Lockett also posted a career-high 16.9 yards per catch as an explosive home run threat every time he touches the football. Expect Lockett to be in high demand as his stock continues to rise.
