Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz is just an okay option in Week 11. With the New England Patriots bringing their elite defense into the Eagles home on Sunday, the entire Eagles offense is expected to struggle. While the Eagles could have a hard time moving the ball against the New England defense, Ertz should be the focus of whatever passing game the Eagles are able to get going. His upside is limited, but his floor should still be about the same as usual. He will get a slight bump in value if Alshon Jeffery (ankle) is forced to miss the game.
Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz finished with nine receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown on 11 targets in Week 9 against the Chicago Bears.
Fantasy Spin: Ertz finally had a giant stat line that fantasy owners expect on a regular basis. The good news is his catches, targets and yards were each season bests. The bad news is Ertz and the Eagles are off in Week 10.
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz broke out of a season-long slump in Week 9, catching nine passes for 103 yards and a touchdown. Ertz's score came on a 25-yard pass from Carson Wentz near the end of the first half. Ertz had looked like he was about to get passed on the depth chart by sophomore Dallas Goedert, but he played a vintage Zach Ertz game today and should remain an elite TE1 this season.
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz is having a very disappointing season and seems somewhat at risk of falling behind Dallas Goedert in Philly. Ertz has seen 17 targets and put up 19.2 PPR points since Week 6, while Goedert has seen 16 targets and compiled 37.9 points. For the season, Ertz has a mediocre 37/424/1 line. It's looking more and more like a changing of the guard in Philly, making Ertz a sell candidate while his name still carries more value than his performance. He could do well in Week 9, as the only exploitable weakness in the Chicago Bears pass defense seems to be at the tight end position.
Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz finished with just two grabs for 20 yards on four targets in Week 8 against the Buffalo Bills.
Fantasy Spin: Ertz was outproduced by Dallas Goedert (3-22-1), who had one more target and the score. It's been a recurring theme, as Ertz hasn't produced like a TE1 over the past three games. He has just one touchdown all season, and eight grabs for 112 yards and no scores in the past three. You have to stick with him, as you know what is capable of doing, but he is looking like a TE2 lately.
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz only caught two passes in Week 8, gaining 20 yards. Ertz was only targeted four times, falling one behind his "backup" Dallas Goedert. It's been a very disappointing season for Ertz so far, as he's now made just eight catches in his past three games combined. He still has the talent to be a top-tier TE1, but until he shows the kind of involvement he did last season, he'll be more of a mid to low-end TE1.
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz is looking at another tough matchup in Week 8. The Eagles will be in Buffalo to take on the Bills and their difficult defense. Ertz is coming off a disappointing two-catch, 38 yard performance in Week 7 and could put up a similar performance this week. With the Eagles offense struggling to move the ball in general and especially struggling to stretch the field, opposing defenses have been able to zone in on Ertz and remove him from a lot of plays. He's still a TE1 this week, but that speaks more to the lack of depth at the position.
Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz was held to two catches for 38 yards on five targets in Week 7 versus the Dallas Cowboys.
Fantasy Spin: Ertz was not targeted in the first half and took a back seat to backup Dallas Goedert in this one. While regression was certain to hit Ertz this year after just about everything fell into place for him in 2018, he's not currently living up to his status as the top-three tight end he was drafted to be this summer. Things are unlikely to get any easier in Week 8 versus the Buffalo Bills, who once again boast one of the stingier defenses against tight ends.
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz came down with just two passes in Week 7, gaining 38 yards. Ertz was targeted five times but he was soundly outplayed by Dallas Goedert, who scored the only Eagles touchdown. Ertz has been mostly disappointing this season so far, and next week against the Buffalo Bills Defense doesn't look like a likely get-right spot. He's a TE1 no doubt, but perhaps moving slowly out of the top tier.
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz is set up for a big game in Week 7. The Eagles will be on the road facing the Dallas Cowboys and their stout pass defense. Their one weak spot this season has been opposing tight ends. With the Philly wide receivers likely to be covered up by the Dallas secondary, Ertz could take on an even bigger role than usual on Sunday Night Football. He's been somewhat of a letdown this season for fantasy owners with lofty expectations, but everything is lined up for Week 7 to be his best game of the season so far. Trust Ertz as your TE1 and perhaps the overall TE1 for the week.
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz caught four passes in Week 6, gaining 54 scoreless yards and losing a fumble. Ertz was targeted nine times, but has now scored just one touchdown through six weeks of the season. He hasn't gone over 72 yards receiving yet either. In a position as shallow as tight end, Ertz is very much still a weekly TE1, but he seems to be working with much less upside than in previous seasons. We'll see if the Eagles start getting Ertz more involved going forward.
Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz caught four passes for 54 yards against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 6. He was targeted nine times during the game.
Fantasy Spin: Ertz has been targeted at least seven times in every game this season and has been a reliable option for fantasy players. He should continue to be considered a No. 1 tight end in leagues next week.
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz will face a tough Minnesota Vikings Defense in Week 6. Still, he is one of the few matchup-proof tight ends in the league and will remain a top-half TE1. Ertz scored his first touchdown last week but has remained heavily involved in the passing game and could have a "blow up" game at any point. Week 6 on the road against a strong defense is unlikely to be it, but you can't put anything past someone with Ertz's talent.
Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz posted five receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown on seven targets in Week 5 against the New York Jets.
Fantasy Spin: Believe it or not, and his fantasy owners know all too well, it was Ertz's first visit to the end zone in 2019 through five games. Hopefully it's the first of many. He'll try to add to his scoring totals in Week 6 at Minnesota.
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz caught the only offensive touchdown for the Eagles in Week 5. He ended up with five catches for 57 yards on the day. His touchdown was an 11-yard strike from Carson Wentz in the second quarter. Ertz was solid in this one, but he hasn't seen the monster-share of targets his fantasy owners likely expected, especially with DeSean Jackson (abdomen) out. Still, Ertz can have a blow-up game at any point and will be a top-tier TE1 any time he's on the field.
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz should be a top-three tight end option in Week 5. The Eagles will host the New York Jets, and while the Jets Defense has been soft in the passing game, they've actually defended opposing tight ends quite well. Still, Ertz is not just any tight end and it looks like he may get another game without DeSean Jackson (abdomen) out wide, giving Ertz an extra look or two. He's a threat to score every time he's on the field, and he should have enough of the target share to give him a solid floor and tons of upside. He's a TE1 this week as he is every week.
Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz caught seven passes for 65 yards against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday, Sept. 26.
Fantasy Spin: Ertz has been steady but unspectacular this year, catching at least four passes and gaining between 50 and 75 yards in all four games this season. After scoring eight times in each of the last two seasons, however, Ertz has yet to record a TD in 2019. Still, he remains an integral part of Philly's passing game and should be locked into fantasy lineups as a TE1.
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz made seven catches in Week 4, gaining 65 yards. Ertz led the team in catches by a wide margin, but was unable to come down with a touchdown. That's two straight somewhat pedestrian efforts from Ertz, but his usage shows that he's due for a breakout performance very soon.
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz is an easy TE1 option in Week 4, as always. Ertz was double-covered for most of Week 3 and was still able to catch four passes for 64 yards. With Alshon Jeffery (calf) back in the lineup and likely to draw at least some attention away from Ertz, Ertz should be back to his target-monster games. The Packers have defended tight ends fairly well, but Zach Ertz is nothing like a regular tight end. He'll be a TE1 with overall TE1 upside on Thursday Night Football.
Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz caught four of his seven targets for 64 yards in a 27-24 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 3.
Fantasy Spin: Ertz still hasn't had a breakout performance this year, but he has topped 50 yards in all three games. He has one of the safest floors of any tight end in the league.
