Nov 14 10:10am ET

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Vance McDonald scored his second touchdown of the season in Week 10 and will look to build upon that performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 11. Of all of Pittsburgh's pass-catchers, McDonald draws the easiest matchup against a talented Jacksonville defense. While the Jaguars have clamped down on enemy wide receivers, they are allowing the sixth-most fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends. As a result, McDonald could see some extra work in the passing game this weekend. Treat him as a low-end TE1 for his Week 11 matchup against Jacksonville.

Nov 8 11:50pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Vance McDonald caught four passes for 44 yards and a touchdown in his team's 52-21 win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 10. McDonald got off to a slow start in the game but came to life in the second half, catching a 12-yard touchdown to kick off the scoring in the third quarter. McDonald has been a solid fantasy tight end this season, despite scoring just two touchdowns on the year. He will look to keep it going in Week 11 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Nov 8 11:23pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Vance McDonald caught all four of his targets for 44 yards and a touchdown in a 52-21 win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 10.

Nov 7 9:50am ET

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Vance McDonald has been performing below expectations over the past two weeks, racking up just six catches for 72 yards over that span. That being said, there's reason to strongly consider him for fantasy lineups in Week 10. McDonald will take on a Carolina Panthers defense that has been one of the best fantasy matchups in the league for tight ends. Carolina is allowing the most fantasy points per game to the position and ranks just 27th in pass defense DVOA against tight ends. McDonald can be treated as a low-end TE1 with plenty of upside for this week's game.

From RotoBaller

Nov 4 9:30pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Vance McDonald caught three of six targets for 25 yards in his team's 23-16 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9. McDonald didn't impress in the game but he remains a solid fantasy tight end, mostly due to the sorry state of the position. He also continues to outproduce Jesse James, who began the season as the starter while McDonald was injured. McDonald will look to bounce back on Thursday night against the Carolina Panthers at home.

Nov 4 5:13pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Vance McDonald caught three passes for 25 yards against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9.

Fantasy Spin: McDonald has been targeted at least six times in two of the last three games but has seen a drop in yards in each of those games. He can be owned in most leagues but should be seen as a No. 2 tight end.

Oct 31 8:30am ET

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Vance McDonald has enjoyed a mini-breakout this season as he has racked up 23 receptions for 321 yards and one touchdown in six games. McDonald draws a favorable Week 9 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. While Baltimore has been tough on opposing offenses this season, they have been vulnerable to enemy tight ends, ranking 23rd in pass defense DVOA to the position. McDonald could see a larger role than normal if the Ravens are able to take away Pittsburgh's primary options in the passing game. Treat McDonald as a low-end TE1 with upside.

Oct 28 9:50pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Vance McDonald caught all three of his targets for 47 yards in a 33-18 win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 8. McDonald has been a solid part of the Pittsburgh passing game this season, reaching at least 47 receiving yards in four of his six games played. McDonald will draw a tough matchup against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9 but the nature of the tight end position in fantasy leaves him as a low-end TE1 for that contest.

From RotoBaller

Oct 28 5:33pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Vance McDonald caught three passes for 47 yards against the Cleveland Browns in Week 8.

Fantasy Spin: McDonald caught all three of his targets against the Browns but was held to under 50 yards for the second time in three weeks. He has some success against the Baltimore Ravens earlier this season but may only be a low-end No. 1 tight end in deeper leagues next week.

Oct 24 9:40am ET

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Vance McDonald will take on the Cleveland Browns in Week 8 for the first time in 2018 after he missed the two teams' Week 1 contest due to injury. Since then, McDonald has emerged as the team's preferred passing game tight end and has put up at least 62 receiving yards in three of his last four games played. McDonald will be put to the test in Week 8 as the Browns have been stingy against opposing tight ends this season. Treat McDonald as a high-end TE2 for Week 8.

From RotoBaller

Oct 14 9:40pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Vance McDonald had another big game for his team in Week 6. McDonald caught seven passes for 68 yards in a 28-21 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. The veteran tight end has been prominently involved in the offense since getting fully healthy back in Week 3, thus overtaking Jesse James as the team's primary pass-catching tight end. Overall, McDonald has 20 catches for 274 yards and a touchdown in five games played. He will remain a decent TE1 after his team's Week 7 bye.

From RotoBaller

Oct 14 5:33pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Vance McDonald absorbed seven of his eight targets for 68 yards in the Week 6 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fantasy Spin: McDonald had seven of the 14 receptions gathered by Pittsburgh tight ends in a busy day. He has emerged as a decent low-end TE1 in most fantasy leagues, especially at a position with very little depth. However, Pittsburgh is off in Week 7 so you'll need to make other plans.

Oct 10 9:40am ET

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Vance McDonald burned a lot of his fantasy owners in Week 5 when he caught just one pass for six yards in a game against the Atlanta Falcons. This game after a two-game stretch which saw McDonald rack up nine catches for 174 yards and a touchdown. The veteran tight end will look to bounce back in Week 6 against a Cincinnati Bengals defense that has struggled to contain enemy tight ends this season. Cincinnati is allowing the ninth-most fantasy points per game to the position. McDonald is the team's fourth option, at best, in the passing game, which is going to lead to some down weeks. That being said, the sad state of the tight end position in fantasy makes him a high-end TE2 going into Week 6.

From RotoBaller

Oct 8 12:20am ET

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Vance McDonald turned in a slow performance against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 5. McDonald caught just one pass for six yards in the game. It was a huge departure from his output in Weeks 3 and 4, where he combined for nine catches, 174 yards, and one touchdown. McDonald is going to have some slow games like this but he remains the team's preferred pass-catching tight end, which gives him fantasy value. He will look to bounce back against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 6.

From RotoBaller

Oct 3 9:10pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Vance McDonald has been on an impressive run over his past two games. The veteran tight end has caught nine of his 10 targets for 174 yards and one touchdown over that span. He has overtaken Jesse James as the team's primary tight end and should continue to be productive in Week 5 against the Atlanta Falcons. Atlanta's pass defense has struggled this season, ranking 27th in the league in DVOA. That being said, they have been relatively stout against tight ends this season but the general ugliness of the position in fantasy puts him on the radar as a low-end TE1 for fantasy in Week 5.

From RotoBaller

Oct 1 9:30am ET

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Vance McDonald turned in a second straight quality outing in Week 4 against the Baltimore Ravens. McDonald finished with five catches for 62 yards, tying with Antonio Brown for the team lead in receiving yardage. McDonald has been red-hot over the past two weeks, racking up 10 catches for 174 yards and a touchdown. He has emerged as a trusted target for Ben Roethlisberger and should hold low-end TE1 value in fantasy going forward. He will be in a prime spot in Week 5 in a potential shootout with the Atlanta Falcons. Playing for an explosive offense, McDonald should be owned in all leagues.

From RotoBaller

Oct 1 2:43am ET

Steelers TE Vance McDonald caught all five of his targets for 62 yards in Week 4 against the Baltimore Ravens.

Fantasy Spin: McDonald was a popular target for Ben Roethlisberger early and did all of his damage in the first half, including a 33-yard catch-and-run in which he broke at least three tackles and seemed to inspire the offense. The Pittsburgh offense pretty much went into the tank after that, and the defense struggled to get Baltimore off the field. McDonald will be on the TE1 radar in Week 5 as the Steelers draw the sieve that has become the Atlanta Falcons defense.

Sep 26 2:20pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Vance McDonald broke out in a big way in Week 3, picking up 112 receiving yards and a touchdown on Monday night. The veteran tight end will look to build upon that success in Week 4 when the Baltimore Ravens come to town. McDonald has moved ahead of Jesse James as the Steelers' preferred pass-catching tight end and could return low-end TE1 numbers if he continues to see work in the passing game. The Ravens have been stingy against enemy tight ends this season, allowing the seventh-fewest fantasy points per game to the position, but they will not be able to focus on Pittsburgh's tight end with Antonio Brown and Juju Smith-Schuster on the field. McDonald is a solid waiver add in all leagues and is fine to deploy as a high-end streamer this weekend.

Sep 26 12:30pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Chris Conte (knee) played through a torn PCL in his knee on Monday night, according to a source. Conte said he "gutted it out and honestly shouldn't have played." He will be out the next six weeks. Conte was embarrassed on a ferocious stiff arm from Steelers tight end Vance McDonald on a 70-yard touchdown in the loss on Monday, and this literally adds injury to insult. An already weak and ineffective Tampa defense just got worse. The Bucs defense is a good one to stream against on a weekly basis.

Sep 25 8:00am ET

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Vance McDonald turned in an exceptional game on Monday night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. McDonald finished with four catches for 112 yards and a touchdown. The veteran tight end ripped off a 75-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter which saw him level a Tampa Bay defender with a fierce stiff-arm on his way to the end zone. McDonald appears to be fully healthy after missing most of the preseason and Week 1. He has moved ahead of Jesse James in the tight end rotation and could return low-end TE1 numbers if he remains involved in the game plan going forward.
