2020 RTSports Outlook

Robinson had a huge game in Week 2, catching six passes for 172 yards and two touchdowns. He topped 50 yards just once more time the rest of the season. He got sporadic work in a depth role, catching 32 passes for 449 yards and four touchdowns. His numbers are all career highs. Robinson has 20-plus receptions all three seasons in the NFL. Robinson likely plays a similar role this year, serving as a deep reserve receiver. He will get a few chances on a weekly basis to make a big play. Robinson is an explosive player that does a good job of getting in and out of his breaks. He makes plays in space and runs pretty good routes. He remains a bit raw, though, and has been a little inconsistent since joining the league.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Robinson could get some more chances this year but probably not enough to warrant a fantasy draft pick. He could finish with around 35 receptions for 400 yards and a couple scores.

RotoBaller's Outlook

With Tyreek Hill missing some games last year due to injury, Demarcus Robinson stepped in and was able to post career highs in targets (55), receptions (32) and receiving yards (449), while also tying his career high with four touchdowns in 16 games (10 starts). His best game came in Week 2 against the Raiders, when he went for six catches, 172 yards and two scores. It was his only 100-yard contest. If everyone is healthy in this high-flying offense, Robinson is fifth on the totem pole behind Hill, Travis Kelce, Sammy Watkins and Mecole Hardman as a boom-or-bust receiver. With targets hard to come by, the 25-year-old should go undrafted in most single-year formats and will only become a waiver-wire target if an injury thrusts him into a starting role again.

The Kansas City Chiefs are re-signing wide receiver Demarcus Robinson to an undisclosed one-year deal on Saturday, according to a source. Robinson had the best season of his career in 2019, catching 32 passes for 449 yards (14 yards per catch) and four touchdowns in 16 games (10 starts). The former fourth-round pick in 2016 plays in one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL with Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes throwing him the ball, but he's also behind Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, Sammy Watkins and Mecole Hardman in the receiving pecking order. Watkins may not be back and Robinson can provide some big games, but those games will continue to be hard to predict as a fantasy owner. He'll be most useful as receiver depth in deeper leagues.

Unrestricted free-agent WR Demarcus Robinson (Chiefs) will re-sign with the Kansas City Chiefs on a one-year deal, a source said Saturday, March 28. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Fantasy Spin: It seemed like Robinson, 25, may have had a market elsewhere, but returning to the Chiefs on a one-year deal could position him for a better run at free agency in 2021. Robinson showed capable of being a capable fill-in for the Chiefs early in the year when Tyreek Hill was injured. A Week 2 explosion vs. the Oakland Raiders (6-172-2) accounted for 38 percent of his total receiving yardage on the year and half of Robinson's touchdown production. The chances to flash will be there, but his fantasy football worth is zero without an injury to Hill or Sammy Watkins. It is still possible the latter is released due to carrying a $21 million cap hit, which would make Robinson a draftable option. Monitor how KC handles Watkins' contract situation in the coming weeks.

The Philadelphia Eagles will have Kansas City Chiefs impending free-agent wide receiver Demarcus Robinson in their sights when he officially becomes a free agent in March, according to NFL sources. The Eagles had a pre-draft visit with Robinson before the 2016 draft, and they could have another chance to land him in free agency. The 25-year-old could be retained by the Chiefs, too, especially if they let Sammy Watkins go. In four seasons with KC, Robinson has 75 catches for 949 yards and eight touchdowns. He caught 16 passes for 281 yards and four TDs when Tyreek Hill missed four games due to injury in 2019. The Eagles have questions at receiver and could look to add Robinson as a deep threat.
