Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson was able to rack up 91 scrimmage yards on Sunday night, but like the rest of the Seattle offense, he was unable to find the end zone. Carson was forced to pick up the slack after backfield-mate Rashaad Penny went down with a significant knee injury early in the first quarter, but offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer seemed uninterested in leaning on Seattle's run game. Carson only carried the ball 15 times, his second-fewest times in the last 10 games, even though he was averaging more than five yards per carry. Hopefully, the team will get back to giving him the rock next week when they head to Carolina.

Dec 9 2:33am ET

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson carried the ball 15 times for 76 yards against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, Dec. 8. Carson also caught three passes for 15 yards.

Fantasy Spin: Despite a middling performance, Carson's value will go skyward following the unfortunate injury to Rashaad Penny, who appeared to suffer a serious knee injury on Sunday night. Assuming Penny misses the remainder of the season, Carson should be a RB1/RB2 the rest of the way as Seattle is in position to play for a division crown in Week 17, assuming they take of business with Carolina and Arizona.

From TheHuddle

Dec 7 8:30pm ET

Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson was one of the team's strongest weapons when they beat the Rams at home earlier this year, and he'll need to bring that same fire to LA if Seattle is going to come out on top again. Carson has been a beastly back this year, even if the recent surge of carries for Rashaad Penny has hurt fantasy owners. Carson has shown that he welcomes the addition of Penny to the mix, so expect him to share the load once again, but Carson remains the No. 1 option for the team. Any owner isn't going to turn away from him at this point, and Carson should easily clear the 1,000-yard hurdle in 2019 by putting up another strong game against his division rival.

From RotoBaller

Dec 3 4:03pm ET

Seattle Seahawks RBs Chris Carson played 39 snaps versus 35 for Rashaad Penny in Week 13 against the Minnesota Vikings. In Week 12 versus the Philadelphia Eagles, Carson logged 31 snaps and Penny finished with 30.

Fantasy Spin: It would appear Carson's fantasy owners must deal with the reality he is going to be splitting work for the foreseeable future, at least until Penny blows his latest chance. The good news for fantasy owners of either running back is the remaining fantasy schedule shapes up well for both players to produce, as there should be plenty of positive game script against the Los Angeles Rams, Carolina Panthers and Arizona Cardinals over the final three weeks of the fantasy season. Both players should be considered RB2s now.

Dec 3 2:50am ET

Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson split carries with Rashaad Penny once again, but this time, Carson got the lion's share and made hay with the chances. Carson carried the ball 23 times for 102 yards, a massive upswing from his forgettable showing last week. Carson also took in an early touchdown, and he regularly gashed the Minnesota defense for chunks of yards throughout the night. Carson now sits at 981 rushing yards on the season, and he's garnered a rushing touchdown in every other game for the last seven weeks. He also didn't fumble for the first time in four games. Carson is the bell cow on a top-three rushing offense in the league.

From RotoBaller

Dec 3 12:33am ET

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson rushed 23 times for 102 yards and a touchdown in the Week 13 game against the Minnesota Vikings and he had a seven-yard grab.

Fantasy Spin: Carson carries the mail, while Rashaad Penny was also very effective. He remains a strong RB2 in most fantasy leagues heading into Week 14 against the Los Angeles Rams.

From TheHuddle

Dec 2 4:40pm ET

Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Linval Joseph (knee) will be available to play on Monday night against the Seahawks just three weeks removed from surgery on the meniscus in his right knee. Joseph has 31 total tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble in his nine games with Minnesota this year. His presence in the trenches on Monday is bad news for both Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny. Carson fumbled two more times in Week 13 and comes into this one as more of a risky RB2 in danger of losing more touches to Penny.

From RotoBaller

Nov 30 11:30am ET

Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson ended up seeing more bench time than anything last week when the team shifted focus to Rashaad Penny instead. Penny exploded against the Eagles as the team notched their ninth win, and questions now linger about how the running back situation will play out for the rest of the season. Fortunately, there are a lot of good signs in Carson's corner. Carson has still averaged 4.2 YPC this season and is just shy of 900 yards rushing. He's also shown great hands out of the backfield and added another 220 receiving yards. Lastly, Penny has shown flashes before while returning to Earth quickly. Expect Carson to still be the main man moving forward, but a dominant game on Monday against a mediocre Minnesota rush defense could help solidify that spot.

From RotoBaller

Nov 29 11:33pm ET

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson is still going to the lead the backfield rotation despite his fumbling issues, according to offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer. 'Chris is our guy,' Schottenheimer said.

Fantasy Spin: Despite the vote of confidence, Rashaad Penny likely earned a few more touches with his 129-yard performance in Week 12. Meanwhile, Carson could find himself on the sidelines if he fumbles again, making him a boom-or-bust RB2 candidate against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 13.

From TheHuddle

Nov 29 8:50pm ET

Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer said that "Chris Carson is our guy" heading into Week 13 against the Vikings on Monday night. However, the OC did say he liked seeing backup Rashaad Penny get rewarded with a big game last week after Carson's fumbling issues resurfaced. Penny finally had a good game for fantasy owners, running for 129 yards and a touchdown while getting 14 carries to Carson's eight. Schottenheimer said Seattle wants to get Penny his touches, but they won't force it. After last week's developments, Carson has to been seen as a risky RB2 in a tough matchup with Minnesota, while Penny is now more attractive as an RB3/flex in PPR leagues.

From RotoBaller

Nov 25 1:53pm ET

Seattle Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny has apparently worked his way back into the good graces of head coach Pete Carroll, who told reporters Monday, Nov. 25, there is 'no reason not to get (Penny) back in there' after he ran for 129 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries in Week 12 against the Philadelphia Eagles. 'Chris (Carson) is a guy who is a big part of our team and we'll do everything we can (for him). ... Competition is a beautiful thing and no reason not to get (Penny) back in there next week. We'll get those guys hammering away,' Carroll said.

Fantasy Spin: Carson and Penny pretty much split snaps in Week 12 after the former's ball-security issues popped up again. To be fair, Carson recovered the one fumble charged to him. It's hard to believe one game would have changed Carroll's thinking in regards to the playing time of his running backs, but Penny should see a few more carries as a result of his Week 12 effort. Consider Penny a risky but high-upside RB3 in Week 13 against the Minnesota Vikings.

From TheHuddle

Nov 25 2:30am ET

Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson has been a workhorse for Seattle this year, and discussions about his workload abounded this week. Sunday took care of managing that. Rashaad Penny absolutely exploded in some of his first carries while Carson struggled, so head coach Pete Carroll switched it up and leaned heavily on the younger backup for the day. Penny amassed 129 yards on 14 carries while Carson only hauled the ball eight times on the ground for just 26 yards. Carson still caught four passes for 31 yards, and there's no reason to think this is a changing of the guard or anything. Carroll mixed up a bunch of the offense on Sunday, giving bigger pieces of the pie to a lot of backups. Hopefully, Carson will be back to his normal carries next Monday against the Vikings.

From RotoBaller

Nov 24 9:33pm ET

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson rushed eight times for 26 yards in Week 12 against the Philadelphia Eagles and he added three grabs for 31 yards on four targets.

Fantasy Spin: Carson couldn't get it going in the run game, so Rashaad Penny saw an uptick in production and workload. It's a situation fantasy owners certainly do not want to see. The Seahawks run game faces another tough matchup in Week 13 against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night.

From TheHuddle

Nov 22 9:30pm ET

Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson should be plenty rested after getting a week off for the bye, but he's still putting in an unheard of amount of work this season. Carson is on pace for 320 carries this year, the most by a Seattle running back in nearly 15 years. While that's great for fantasy owners so far, there's some lingering concern that the Seahawks may start to step his workload back a little before the playoffs. Rashaad Penny barely saw the field in SF, but if a game starts to get out of hand, don't be surprised if Penny is the guy who sees the rock instead of Carson. For now though, playoff spots are still up in the air enough that Carson should be banging plenty of heads on Sunday in Philly.

From RotoBaller

Nov 21 7:43pm ET

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson (non-injury) was upgraded to a full participant in practice Thursday, Nov. 21.

Fantasy Spin: Chris Carson has frequently been allowed to rest in the early-week practices and the recipe seems to be working. He hasn't gained fewer than 60 rushing yards in a game since Week 3. He's a top-end RB2.

From TheHuddle

Nov 20 7:43pm ET

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson (non-injury) was limited during practice Wednesday, Nov. 20.

Fantasy Spin: Carson has rushed for at least 85 yards in six of the last seven games and has received at least 20 carries in six games this season. He is a focal point of the Seahawks offense and should be a starting option in all leagues.

From TheHuddle

Nov 12 3:10am ET

In one of the toughest games of his career, Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson bashed and bounced his way to 89 yards and a touchdown in Seattle's win over the 49ers on Monday night. Tallying just 3.6 YPC, it seemed like Carson was constantly being hit. His long rush for the night was just nine yards, and he truly fought for every inch he gained. Carson contributed one of five Seahawks fumbles on the evening, but his was actually recovered, so it likely won't be the focus of this week's conversations about fumbling. Carson continues to be one of Seattle's focal points on offense, though he's probably going to be taking a lot of painkillers this week. Good thing they have a bye next week.

From RotoBaller

Nov 12 12:23am ET

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson rushed 25 times for 89 yards and a touchdown in the Week 10 win against the San Francisco 49ers in overtime.

Fantasy Spin: Carson was impressive against the suffocating defense of the 49ers, and he has now rushed for 89 or more yards in six of the past seven outings while scoring a touchdown in four of the past six (three rushing, one receiving). Fantasy owners will need to make alternate plans in Week 11, as the team is on a bye.

From TheHuddle

Nov 9 6:13pm ET

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson (non-injury) remained a full participant in practice Saturday, Nov. 9.

Fantasy Spin: Carson is good to go for Week 10, albeit in a tough matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. Typically a high-end RB2, he should be viewed as an RB3/flex option this week.

From TheHuddle

Nov 9 3:10pm ET

Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson has pretty much been exactly what owners expected so far. He's averaging 4.4 YPC, slightly down from last season, but he's racking up nearly 85 yards per game, leaving him on pace to top 1,300 yards this season. He's also seen a bump in his receptions as Seattle has tried to get their running backs more involved in the passing game. Now, he'll face his toughest matchup of the season in SF. However, maybe it won't be quite as tough as first thought. The 49ers lost Kwon Alexander for the season and got ripped by Kenyan Drake last week. It looks like the best defense in the NFC may be susceptible to the run. If that's the case, expect Carson to be a focal point of Seattle's offense on Monday night.
