2024 RTSports Outlook

Samuel was able to stay healthy last year and played well as the No. 3 receiver for the Commanders. He had 64 receptions, which was the second highest total of his career. He had 843 total yards and was 32nd overall in fantasy receiver scoring. He should play a similar role this year for the Commanders. Samuel has 50-plus receptions three of four seasons. Samuel has top speed and moves in space. He is extremely tough to bring down when in space. He does lack some strength, though, and will drop a few more passes than you would like. And injuries are a concern for him after the last few seasons.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Samuel has some fantasy value. He will get his weekly touches and post consistent numbers. He might have a few big games along the way. He can help as a No. 4 fantasy receiver. Look for around 800 total yard and five or so touchdowns.

Dynasty | The Buffalo Bills have signed wide receiver Curtis Samuel. Dynasty Analysis: The three-year, $24 million deal is worth up to $30 million, including $15 million guaranteed. It's a solid get for the Bills, who lost Gabe Davis earlier in free agency. Samuel has had his moments both rushing and receiving in his time with Carolina and Washington but never really become the dual threat many had hoped for. Still, this looks like a good landing spot for him and his dynasty ADP and ranking should stay stable as a result. Should Stefon Diggs be moved, this could actually get fun.

Mar 14 6:10pm ET

The Buffalo Bills signed free-agent wide receiver Curtis Samuel to a three-year, $24 million deal on Thursday that includes $15 million guaranteed. The deal is worth a maximum of $30 million. Since seeing Gabe Davis depart for the Jacksonville Jaguars in free agency earlier this week, the Bills have added Mack Hollins and Samuel as receiver additions for quarterback Josh Allen. Samuel, 27, spent the last three seasons with the Washington Commanders, combining for 132 catches on 192 targets for 1,296 yards and eight touchdowns in 38 games (26 starts). He will provide some much-needed receiving depth in Buffalo behind Stefon Diggs, Khalil Shakir and tight end Dalton Kincaid, but Samuel doesn't figure to be much more than a WR3/flex option in deeper fantasy leagues on a weekly basis in 2024.

From RotoBaller

Mar 14 6:03pm ET

Free-agent WR Curtis Samuel (Commanders) agreed to terms on a three-year contract with the Buffalo Bills Thursday, March 14, worth $24 million, according to a source. The deal could be worth as much as $30 million and includes $15 million in guaranteed money.

Fantasy Spin: Samuel should have a good role in the passing game in 2024 after the Bills lost Gabe Davis in free agency. He is coming off a productive 2023 season and can be a No. 3 receiver in most fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Jan 7 11:43pm ET

Washington Commanders WR Curtis Samuel finished with two catches for 15 yards on four targets in Week 18 against the Dallas Cowboys, while running once for 15 yards.

From TheHuddle

Jan 7 8:50pm ET

Washington Commanders wide receiver Curtis Samuel caught two of four targets for 15 yards along with one carry for 15 yards during Sunday's loss to the Dallas Cowboys. For the third straight week, Samuel had himself a quiet performance as Washington's offense struggled to get anything going for most of Week 18. With the Commanders heading into the offseason, the seventh-year receiver is set to be an unrestricted free agent. While wide receivers are becoming more valuable than ever, it wouldn't be surprising to see Samuel donning a different uniform in 2024.

From RotoBaller

Jan 5 4:33pm ET

Washington Commanders WR Curtis Samuel (hamstring) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 5, and is not on the injury report for Week 18.

Fantasy Spin: Samuel has posted only 49 yards combined over the last two games but has been targeted at least five times in four of the last five games. He should see a similar workload this week and could be a possible flex option in some deeper leagues.

From TheHuddle

Jan 5 3:30pm ET

After a couple of rough weeks in a row, Washington Commanders wide receiver Curtis Samuel (hamstring) will aim to bounce back in Week 18. Despite missing Thursday's practice with a hamstring injury, the seventh-year receiver was removed from Washington's injury report and appears to be good to go for this week's matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Although this game is meaningless for the Commanders, Samuel has been a main target for quarterback Sam Howell this season. That connection could bring him into speculative start territory, but with Howell looking putrid lately, it still doesn't spark much confidence. Consider Samuel a flex option for the final week of the regular season.

From RotoBaller

Jan 4 4:33pm ET

Washington Commanders WR Curtis Samuel (hamstring) did not participate in practice Thursday, Jan. 4.

Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players will need to keep an eye on the situation to see if Samuel suffered a setback in his recovery or if he was receiving a day off. He has been a bit quiet over the last several games and probably can be avoided in most leagues.

From TheHuddle

Jan 4 3:33pm ET

Washington Commanders DT Jonathan Allen (knee), CB Tariq Castro-Fields (shoulder), CB Kendall Fuller (knee), CB Christian Holmes (concussion), S Kamren Curl (quad), LB Casey Toohill (shoulder) and WR Curtis Samuel (shoulder) did not practice on Thursday, Jan. 4. DL John Ridgeway (foot) and OL Andrew Wylie (elbow) were limited. QB Jacoby Brissett (hamstring), CB Jartavius Martin (chest) and CB Benjamin St-Juste (concussion) practiced in full.

From TheHuddle

Jan 4 12:33pm ET

Washington Commanders WR Curtis Samuel (hamstring) was not spotted at practice Thursday, Jan. 4.

Fantasy Spin: Samuel was a full participant at practice on Wednesday so be sure to check the practice report that comes out later in the day to ensure he didn't practice. Samuel is a WR4 option if he plays against the Dallas Cowboys this week.

From TheHuddle

Jan 4 12:30pm ET

Washington Commanders wide receiver Curtis Samuel (hamstring) was on the initial Week 18 injury report on Wednesday but practiced in full, so his downgrade to a non-participant on Thursday should raise some eyebrows. It's possible the Commanders are just resting the 27-year-old wideout heading into the final game of their season, but we'll have a better idea of his Week 18 status against the Dallas Cowboys after the team practices on Friday. Washington has nothing left to play for this season, so it's a legitimate setback for Samuel, the Commanders will most likely hold him out this Sunday. He's been inconsistent for fantasy managers in D.C. on a weekly basis, catching a total of 60 passes for 598 yards and four touchdowns in 15 games in his third year with the team. If Samuel doesn't play this weekend, it would open up a bigger role for Jahan Dotson behind Terry McLaurin.

From RotoBaller

Jan 3 3:23pm ET

Washington Commanders DL Jonathan Allen (knee), CB Tariq Castro-Fields (shoulder), DB Kendall Fuller (knee) and CB Christian Holmes (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday, Jan. 3. Also, QB Jacoby Brissett (hamstring), DB Jartavius Martin (chest), DL John Ridgeway (foot), CB Benjamin St-Juste (concussion) and OG Andrew Wylie (elbow) were limited and S Kamren Curl (quadriceps), WR Curtis Samuel (hamstring) and LB Casey Toohill (shoulder) practiced in full.

From TheHuddle

Jan 3 3:23pm ET

Washington Commanders WR Curtis Samuel (hamstring) was a full participant in practice on Wednesday, Jan. 3.

Fantasy Spin: Samuel crept back onto the fantasy radar with three good games in a row before posting two duds over the last two weeks. As a result, he isn't a suggested lineup option.

From TheHuddle

Dec 31 5:40pm ET

Washington Commanders wide receiver Curtis Samuel caught three of four targets for 33 yards during Sunday's loss to the San Francisco 49ers. With Washington's offense struggling to gain momentum for most of this matchup, Samuel fell into another disappointing stat line. After impressing for three straight games, the seventh-year receiver has now put up two mediocre performances in a row. In Week 18, the Commanders will take on the Dallas Cowboys at home. With these rough outings, Samuel will aim to end his season on a higher note next week.

From RotoBaller

Dec 31 4:33pm ET

Washington Commanders WR Curtis Samuel caught three passes for 33 yards against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 17. He was targeted four times during the game.

From TheHuddle

Dec 29 4:00pm ET

After a rough outing in Week 16 where he was held to just one catch, Washington Commanders wide receiver Curtis Samuel could have a slightly better performance in Week 17. This week, the Commanders are taking on the San Francisco 49ers. With their ability to stop the run, the 49ers have been more of a pass funnel defense this season, so there could be plenty of receiving opportunities to go around in this matchup. However, things aren't as stable as they appeared heading into this game as starting quarterback Jacoby Brissett (hamstring) is now questionable. If he doesn't play, and struggling quarterback Sam Howell leads the offense, Samuel would have a much lower floor this week. Due to the circumstances surrounding Washington's quarterback situation, Samuel should be considered a low-end flex in Week 17.

From RotoBaller

Dec 24 8:03pm ET

Washington Commanders WR Curtis Samuel ended up with a single reception for 16 yards on six targets in Week 16 against the New York Jets, while adding two rushing attempts for four yards.

From TheHuddle

Dec 24 6:00pm ET

Washington Commanders wide receiver Curtis Samuel caught one of six targets for 16 yards along with two carries for four yards during Sunday's loss to the New York Jets. After hauling in two touchdowns during Week 15, Samuel had a tough time bringing in his targets this week. The Jets have a great pass defense, so some struggles were expected, but this was pretty disappointing from the seventh-year receiver. With an upcoming matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, the hope is that Samuel can have a better day in Week 17.

From RotoBaller

Dec 22 2:30pm ET

Washington Commanders wide receiver Curtis Samuel could be a solid option in Week 16. This week, the Commanders are taking on the New York Jets on the road. Although the Jets have one of the best pass defenses in the NFL, the seventh-year receiver has seen consistent usage on a weekly basis with quarterback Sam Howell zeroing in on him. After two touchdowns last week, Samuel has a chance to be a decent fill-in for fantasy rosters struggling with injuries. Consider him a flex play against the Jets in Week 16.

From RotoBaller

Dec 17 9:43pm ET

Washington Commanders WR Curtis Samuel ended up with five receptions for 41 yards and two touchdowns on nine targets in Week 15 against the Los Angeles Rams.
