2020 RTSports Outlook

Gordon played with the Patriots and Seahawks last year, catching 27 passes for 426 yards and a touchdown in 11 games. But the biggest news regarding Gordon was getting suspended for a sixth time late in the year. He is suspended indefinitely, so it isn't sure when he will ever return to the NFL. Gordon hopes to play again this coming season but nothing is certain. And even when on the field in recent years, Gordon hasn't been near as productive as earlier in his career. Gordon has one big season for his career (2013). Gordon is a very talented player, which is why teams keep giving him chances. He is a matchup nightmare for defenses because of his combination of size and speed.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Gordon is obviously a huge risk. He hasn't even done much in recent years when on the field, so taking a chance on him probably isn't worth the risk. He is more waiver wire material at this stage of his career. If he gets back on the field and earns a big role, Gordon can be worth using for fantasy teams.

RotoBaller's Outlook

New England Patriots wide receiver Josh Gordon will get another shot at NFL redemption with the New England Patriots in 2019. Gordon was reinstated from the commissioners exempt list late in the preseason, but will get the chance to line up for the Patriots in Week 1. Gordon has flashed his extraordinary talent in the past, and was having success in New England prior to leaving the team last season. In 11 games he had 720 yards, with three touchdowns on 68 targets and 40 receptions. His catch% was not ideal, sitting below 60%, but it is always tough joining a team late and hopefully he built up enough rapport with Brady last season to improve that efficiency in 2019. If Gordon gets it right and can stay on the field he has the ability to be a must-start receiver every week, especially with Brady looking for a new touchdown threat without recently retired Rob Gronkowski. The value on Gordon right now is rising, but his history means that there is always a chance his current ADP will still present value come seasons end. However, beware it could all come crashing down very quickly.

Free-agent WR Josh Gordon (Seahawks) is a player the Seattle Seahawks would like to re-sign if he is reinstated, according to 710 ESPN's John Clayton.

Fantasy Spin: The Seahawks have a solid group of receivers, so it is not known how Gordon would be used if he returned to the team. Fantasy players should avoid Gordon until he is reinstated by the NFL.

Free-agent WR Josh Gordon (Seahawks) could re-sign with the Seattle Seahawks if he is reinstated before the 2020 season, according to ESPN's Brady Henderson. Gordon has remained in the Seattle area this offseason and would like to play for the Seahawks.

Free-agent wide receiver Josh Gordon has applied for reinstatement by the NFL and is hoping to hear back from commissioner Roger Goodell within the next 30 days. Gordon could meet with the commissioner either in person or virtually. He's been staying clean but hasn't been drug tested recently during the coronavirus pandemic. At age 29, Gordon is looking to make his first trip into unrestricted free agency worth it. He was only able to catch 27 passes for 426 yards and one touchdown in 11 games for the Patriots and Seahawks last year before he was suspended indefinitely. Seattle is one of the teams to watch on the Gordon front, as they are reportedly interested in re-signing him for depth behind Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf.

Free-agent WR Josh Gordon (Seahawks) submitted his letter to the NFL on Wednesday, June 18, to apply for reinstatement. Gordon has been keeping in football shape and hopes to be reinstated in time for training camp.

From TheHuddle

Jun 18 3:00pm ET

Free-agent wide receiver Josh Gordon applied for reinstatement on Wednesday, according to a source. The 29-year-old has been running routes in Seattle and is preparing for his return to the NFL. The hope is that his indefinite suspension is lifted in time for training camp in July. Gordon violated the league's substance-abuse policy yet again last December and was suspended indefinitely. He finished the year with 27 catches for 426 yards and a touchdown in 11 games with the Seahawks and Patriots. Still on the right side of 30, Gordon should be able to help an NFL team out, but he's an obvious risk for fantasy owners, having been suspended six times in his career.

Free-agent WR Josh Gordon (Seahawks) is reportedly filing for reinstatement but Joe Fann of NBC Sports Northwest suggests the Seattle Seahawks shouldn't seek a reunion, explaining there are already better options on the roster.

Fantasy Spin: Gordon caught seven of 11 targets for 139 yards over five games with the Seahawks in 2019. He totaled 27 receptions, 426 yards and one touchdown in 11 games with his first six coming with the New England Patriots. 2020 free-agent addition Phillip Dorsett is expected to be the Seahawks' No. 3 option at receiver behind Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf. TEs Greg Olsen and Will Dissly will also be factors in the passing game, limiting any need for Gordon, if reinstated.

Free-agent WR Josh Gordon (Seahawks) plans to apply for reinstatement in the near future, according to a source.

Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation to see if Gordon will be cleared to play in 2020. Gordon could help out a team if is reinstated, but players may want to avoid him in drafts.

From TheHuddle

May 21 11:50am ET

Suspended wide receiver Josh Gordon will apply for reinstatement soon, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. Gordon has been doing well, is working out and is ready to resume playing in 2020. The goal is to get him cleared to return before training camp this summer. He's currently able to sign with any team after appearing in enough games with the Seahawks last year to satisfy his contractual obligations to become an unrestricted free agent. The 29-year-old had 1,646 receiving yards back in 2013 despite missing two games, so he has special talent. But he didn't play at all in 2015 or 2016 and played in five games with the Browns in 2017, 12 with the Patriots in 2018 and 11 with Seattle in 2019. There's still potential for Gordon to be fantasy relevant, but it'll depend on where he lands and what his role will be. Stay tuned.

Free-agent wide receiver Josh Gordon said he intends to play in 2020 as he works his way back from an indefinite suspension, according to a source. Commissioner Roger Goodell will oversee Gordon's attempt to be reinstated by the league. Gordon played for the Patriots and Seahawks in 2019 but was suspended on Dec. 16 for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances and substances of abuse, which was his sixth NFL suspension since 2013. He'd become an unrestricted free agent for the first time if he is reinstated. The 28-year-old had seven catches for 139 yards in five games for Seattle. He still has plenty of talent, but whether he's reinstated and for whom he's playing will determine his 2020 fantasy value.

Gordon was suspended Dec. 16 for violating the NFL's policies on performance-enhancing substances and substances of abuse - his sixth NFL suspension since the 2013 season.
