2020 RTSports Outlook

Thomas split his season last year with the Broncos and Texans, finishing with 59 receptions for 677 yards and five touchdowns. His numbers were his lowest since 2011. Thomas also tore his Achilles' late in the season (Week 16), missing the last week of the year. Thomas had one 100-yard game but that was his only game with more than 65 yards. He was mediocre most weeks. Thomas is 31 years old and returning from a major injury. He should be ready for the start of this year, but you have to worry about his age and health moving forward. Thomas signed with the Patriots this offseason and will look to carve out a niche with his new team. He remains a big, physical receiver, but also has good speed, making him a big-play threat whenever the ball is in his hands. He really is the complete package at receiver when healthy and on his game. Fantasy Outlook: Thomas is trending the wrong way. He can rebound some after last year, especially in a good passing attack looking for options, but don't expect him to return to his form of past years. He should be considered a No. 3 or 4 fantasy receiver. Thomas can get around 75 receptions for 900 yards and six or so scores.

RotoBaller's Outlook

Its still up in the air whether Demaryius Thomas will be on the Patriots or not when week 1 rolls around. He hasnt been activated from the PUP list yet and itll cost him six weeks if he cant get healthy enough to do so before opening day. Even if he is healthy, the Patriots have a ton of competition at WR and Thomas isnt a guarantee to see much playing time. The upside is certainly there without an established WR1, but its looking like some other names are starting to stand out in camp. You can safely avoid Thomas.

From TheHuddle

Dec 20 11:43am ET

New York Jets WR Demaryius Thomas (knee, hamstring) is out of practice Friday, Dec. 20, and isn't expected to play in Week 16.

Fantasy Spin: Robby Anderson (illness) was back at practice and has been productive the last few weeks. He'll be a WR3 option against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

From TheHuddle

Dec 20 11:00am ET

New York Jets wide receiver Demaryius Thomas (knee, ankle) is not practicing Friday and looks unlikely to play Sunday vs the Steelers. This would be the second straight missed game for the veteran wide-out who also missed time earlier in the season with a hamstring injury. Expect Vyncint Smith to play in three WR sets if Thomas indeed misses the game, but Smith isn't a recommended play in fantasy. Jamison Crowder and Robby Anderson should both see between 8-10 targets and are decent WR3's in a tough matchup with Pittsburgh.

From RotoBaller

Dec 19 4:03pm ET

New York Jets WR Robby Anderson (illness), OL Tom Compton (calf) and WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring, knee) did not practice Thursday, Dec. 19. S Jamal Adams (ankle), DL Henry Anderson (shoulder), OL Kelvin Beachum (ankles), CB Arthur Maulet (calf), DL Steve McLendon (knee, hip), CB Brian Poole (concussion, ankle), RB Bilal Powell (ankle) and DL Quinnen Williams (neck) were limited. LB B.J. From TheHuddle

Dec 19 11:13am ET

New York Jets WR Demaryius Thomas (knee, ankle) won't practice Thursday, Dec. 19.

Fantasy Spin: Thomas has been slowed by nagging injuries and has just seven catches for 73 yards and a score in the last three games. He could be a flex option against the Pittsburgh Steelers this weekend, but there are options with much more upside.

From TheHuddle

Dec 18 5:43pm ET

New York Jets WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring, knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 18.

Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players will know more about Thomas' status later in the week. He has posted decent numbers this season but can be kept on the bench if players have better options available.

From TheHuddle

Dec 18 3:50pm ET

New York Jets wide receiver Demaryius Thomas (hamstring, knee) will not practice on Wednesday after sitting out in Week 15. He's not on the right track towards returning in Week 16 against the Steelers, and the veteran wideout might not play again the final two weeks of the season. DT has only 36 receptions for 433 yards and one touchdown on the season with Gang Green and won't be a viable fantasy option even if he returns this Sunday. If he's out again, it'll mean more targets for receivers Robby Anderson and Jamison Crowder in a tough matchup against the Steelers.

From RotoBaller

Dec 12 7:03pm ET

The New York Jets have declared DL Quinnen Williams, OL Chuma Edoga, RB Bilal Powell, CB Brian Poole, WR Demaryius Thomas, S Jamal Adams and CB Arthur Maulet inactive for Week 15.

From TheHuddle

Dec 12 7:03pm ET

New York Jets WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring, knee) was declared inactive against the Baltimore Ravens Thursday, Dec. 12.

Fantasy Spin: Thomas scored his first touchdown of the season last week, but he isn't a safe enough option to be a consideration during the fantasy playoffs, even if he's able to return for Week 16.

From TheHuddle

Dec 11 4:43pm ET

New York Jets WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring, knee) didn't participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 11, and is considered doubtful for the game Thursday, Dec. 12, against the Baltimore Ravens.

Fantasy Spin: Fantasy managers shouldn't have been counting on Thomas for much this week in a tough matchup. Better options exist on the waiver wire.
