2019 RTSports Outlook

Luck returned in a big way last year, looking like the Luck of old. He had a huge return season after missing all of the '17 season. Luck had 39 touchdowns to 15 interceptions and completed a career-high 67 percent of his passes. Luck was fourth overall in fantasy quarterback scoring. Luck had multiple touchdowns all but three games. His shoulder injury should be a thing of the past after this past year. He looks all the way back. And the addition of Frank Reich as head coach was a huge plus for Luck. Reich takes Luck's game to an even better level. The Colts also have a top offensive line, giving Luck plenty of time to make plays. Luck has at least 27 total touchdowns five of six seasons and four 4,000-yard seasons. He is a cerebral quarterback that is accurate and seems to know his limitations. He will force the ball at times, though, and still doesn't have the best decision making for a guy that has been around. Luck doesn't have a huge arm but it is strong enough to make all the throws.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Luck is not near the risk of last year and should be considered a top-five fantasy quarterback. He could even improve on last year for an emerging Colts team. He should be considered an elite fantasy quarterback once again. Look for around 4,700 yards, 40 touchdowns and 13 or so interceptions.

RotoBaller's Outlook

Hilton enters his eighth season having sustained a track record of consistency as a dependable receiving weapon along with unquestioned status as the Colts WR1. He has averaged 131 targets since 2013 while collecting at least 109 during the seven seasons in that span. He has also produced at least 1,083 yards in five of his last six seasons while attaining averages of 1,206 yards, 76 receptions, and 9.2 yards-per-target during that sequence. Hilton overcame a cluster of health issues in 2018 (chest/groin/shoulder/hamstring/ankle) to finish 10th among all receivers in yardage (1,270) while becoming the only player at his position to exceed 1,100 in fewer than 15 games. He also led Indianapolis in targets (120) and receptions (76), while establishing career highs in yards-per-game (90.7), and yards-per-target (10.6). He will retain his ongoing role as Andrew Lucks premier option again this season, within an ascending offense that ranked sixth in passing last year. While the Colts fortified their receiving unit through the additions of Parris Campbell and Devin Funchess, that will not deter Hilton from accruing numbers that will justify his current ADP at the onset of Round 3.

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck had a monster year in his return from injury in 2018. He finished top 5 in yardage and touchdowns, and he was the least sacked quarterback in the NFL. He was projected to lead the NFL in touchdowns for the upcoming season with a mark of 44. That would beat his career mark by four touchdowns, and he has the offensive firepower around him to make that happen. With his increased ability to score touchdowns and take care of the football, he could be QB1 for the 2019 season.

Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck's strong red-zone play is a key to the Colts continuing their success inside the opponents' 20-yard line, head coach Frank Reich said earlier in June at the team's minicamp. 'You need really good quarterback play,' Reich said. 'We got that last year. If you look at Andrew's (Luck) career -- that was one of the things I looked at when I got here. I looked at what Andrew's career was on third down and red zone. He's been good at third down and red zone his whole career. We saw that last year.'

Fantasy Spin: Luck completed 67 percent of his red-zone passes in 2018 with 33 TDs and one interception -- a big reason why he finished fifth among fantasy QBs overall and is ranked as one of the top handful of available QBs this summer.

Jun 11 1:13pm ET

Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck (calf) will sit out the team's minicamp this week with a calf strain, head coach Frank Reich announced Tuesday, June 11.

Fantasy Spin: That means we don't expect to see Luck on the field until training camp, but it's still not enough to ding his rankings as one of the elite fantasy QBs.

Jun 11 12:40pm ET

Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich said that quarterback Andrew Luck (calf) will not practice this week at minicamp. Luck's calf injury isn't believed to be very serious, but the Colts will give him extended time to heal before he's a full-go in training camp. Most fantasy owners didn't want to take on the risk associated with Luck last year after he was coming off serious shoulder surgery, but he proved all his doubters wrong and was one of the most valuable fantasy quarterbacks in the entire league. As a result, he'll likely be one of the first signal-callers off the board this fall.

Jun 6 4:30pm ET

Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich is optimistic that quarterback Andrew Luck (calf) will return for veteran minicamp next week, but the team won't be concerned if he doesn't. Luck has been working out and throwing in the meantime. He is dealing with a minor calf strain, but there's no reason for the team to rush Luck out there this spring. He'll be fully ready for training camp and will be an elite QB1 target after an impressive bounce-back season in 2018.

Jun 5 4:53pm ET

Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck (calf) may be able to participate in the minicamp next week, but head coach Frank Reich said the team will not be worried if Luck misses those practices as well.

Fantasy Spin: Luck does not need to on the field during training camp, so he probably would be limited if he practices during minicamp. He is coming off a terrific 2018 season and should be a No. 1 quarterback in all fantasy leagues.

Jun 5 3:40pm ET

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck (calf) is out of organized team activities for a third straight week with a calf strain. The Colts are likely just being extremely cautious with their franchise quarterback. We expect Luck to be fully healthy for training camp after having a huge bounce-back season in 2018 as one of the best fantasy quarterbacks in the league. In an improving offense and with questions surrounding his surgically-repaired right shoulder put to bed, Luck will be one of the first few quarterbacks off the board in fantasy drafts.

Jun 4 12:33pm ET

Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck was not participating in OTA workouts Tuesday, June 4, as he begins a third straight week on the sideline with a calf strain.

Fantasy Spin: While it's certainly not good news, a calf strain is a far cry from Luck's throwing-shoulder ailments of recent offseasons, so don't hesitate in selecting him as one of the first few QBs off the board in your drafts.

May 29 3:03pm ET

Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck (calf) will not participate in practices this week because of his calf injury, according to head coach Frank Reich. Reich said Luck could play if the team had a game this weekend, but the team wants to be cautious with the injury.

Fantasy Spin: Luck does not really need to be on the practice field until training camp, so the team is taking things slow. He is coming off a terrific 2018 season and should be a No. 1 quarterback in all leagues this upcoming season.

May 22 1:50pm ET

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck (calf) didn't take part in organized team activities on Tuesday due to a calf strain. Head coach Frank Reich said Luck was being held out as a precaution and he will be re-evaluated at the start of next week. Luck will be fine after an impressive bounce-back season in 2018. Many fantasy owners wanted nothing to do with Luck after shoulder surgery, but he proved all the doubters wrong. He'll be coveted as a high-end QB1 this fall.

May 21 2:33pm ET

Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck (calf) suffered a 'tweak' to his calf and will be reevaluated next week, according to head coach Frank Reich, who emphasized the team is going to be 'real conservative during this time the offseason.'

Feb 2 9:33pm ET

Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck was named the 2018 Comeback Player of the Year Saturday, February 2, becoming the first player in franchise history to earn the honor.

Fantasy Spin: Luck's 39 touchdown passes ranked second in the NFL, and he set career highs in completions and completion percentage. He has re-established himself as a high-end QB1 heading into 2019.

Feb 2 6:50pm ET

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck was named the Associated Press 2018 Comeback Player of the Year on Saturday. Luck missed all of 2017 after right shoulder surgery, but he bounced back with a career-high 67.3 completion percentage, 4,593 yards, 39 touchdowns and 15 interceptions over a full season. While most fantasy owners were reluctant to take a chance on Luck in 2018, he'll return to high-end QB1 status in 2019 after showing that his arm was healthy. His great offensive line certainly helps his cause.
