2024 RTSports Outlook

Stidham was a surprise starter for the Raiders late last year, starting the last two games. He played pretty well in a starting role. He was great in Week 17, going 23-of-34 for 365 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions. Stidham showed his potential in a starting role. He signed with the Broncos this offseason and will take over as the top backup for Russell Wilson. Stidham is a good athlete with a great arm. He has a pro arm and the athleticism to make plays in the NFL. He has accuracy issues, though, and can struggled under pressure. He will make poor decisions when pressured.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Stidham has some potential but remains a little raw and is likely to make some mistakes if pressed into action.

For now, quarterback Jarrett Stidham is the Denver Broncos' potential starter in 2024, but head coach Sean Payton declined to say Stidham was in the top position for the job. "He's definitely competing to be the starter," Payton said. "I don't think we have a term 'driver's seat' really. But he is going to compete for that position. I know he's anxious and excited to do that, and I'm sure there will be other candidates that will be competing with him." Stidham and Ben DiNucci are the only QBs on the current roster after the team released Russell Wilson this offseason, but the Broncos are a candidate to trade up in the first round of next month's draft for a potential franchise signal-caller. Stidham has flashed some potential late the last two years with the Raiders and Broncos, but not enough for him to be outright named the starter this offseason.

The Denver Broncos are going to evaluate all of the top quarterback prospects in this year's draft class, but if they do not trade up (they currently hold the 12th overall pick) within the first round of April's draft to take a QB, Jarrett Stidham would get the first shot to be their starter under center for the 2024 season. There are some in the Broncos building that are intrigued by what Stidham has to offer at the position, but it's clear that he isn't considered the long-term answer at QB. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport wouldn't be surprised if Denver signed another veteran in free agency to compete with Stidham this summer. Because of the salary cap predicament the Broncos are in in 2024, they don't really have the funds necessary to go after Kirk Cousins, for instance. Stidham threw for 496 yards, two TDs and a pick in the final two games of the 2023 season and would come with little fantasy upside if he's their starter in 2024.

Denver Broncos quarterback Jarrett Stidham went 20-for-34 for 272 yards, a touchdown and an interception in the 27-14 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders in the regular season finale on Sunday. He ran three times for two yards and was sacked five times for a loss of 34 yards. His lone touchdown was a 24-yard strike to Jerry Jeudy. With the Broncos benching Russell Wilson for the final two games for financial reasons, Stidham acquitted himself well, going 40-for-66 for 496 yards, two touchdowns and an interception while winning one game. The Broncos are expected to move on from Wilson in March, but Stidham will most likely begin training camp in the summer as a backup to whoever the Broncos choose to bring in to replace Wilson. At the very least, Stidham has proven in the last two games of the regular season the last two years with the Broncos and Raiders that he's a serviceable backup.

Denver Broncos quarterback Jarrett Stidham will be cheap in DFS contests in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Las Vegas Raiders, but there's not a whole lot else to get excited about, even with top receiver Courtland Sutton returning from a concussion that kept him sidelined in the Week 17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. In his first start of the year last week, Stidham went 20-for-32 for 224 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions. The 27-year-old got the win and didn't turn the ball over, but nothing else really stood out, and his lone touchdown pass came with receiver Lil'Jordan Humphrey basically doing all the work. He'll have a slightly higher ceiling with Sutton playing this weekend, but Stidham will be a low-end QB2 option without much upside against a Raiders defense that has been stingy against opposing QBs in the last five weeks.

Jan 1 7:30pm ET

Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton announced on Monday that quarterback Jarrett Stidham will remain the starter for the Week 18 regular season finale on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders, as expected, with Russell Wilson serving as the backup. With Wilson not expected to return to the team in 2024, the question now becomes whether Stidham's run as the starter will continue into next season. He's in the first year of a two-year, $10 million deal and went 20-for-32 for 224 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions in the win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. At 27, it was just Stidham's third NFL start in his fifth season. Stidham also impressed in two starts to close out last year for the Raiders, but he'll remain a low-end QB2 with minimal upside for fantasy managers still playing for something in Week 18.

Dec 31 9:30pm ET

Denver Broncos quarterback Jarrett Stidham wasn't impressive, but did his job during Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers. He completed 20-of-32 passing attempts for 224 yards and one touchdown in the win. His best play was a 54-yard touchdown where wide receiver Lil'Jordan Humphrey did a majority of the work. Regardless, Stidham was able to avoid turnovers and help lead his team to a win. He'll once again be under center for the regular season finale versus the Las Vegas Raiders next week. Stidham will be a bottom tier streaming option for that game.

Dec 30 1:40pm ET

The Denver Broncos made headlines earlier this week when they announced they'd be benching quarterback Russell Wilson in favor of Jarrett Stidham for the final two regular season games due to financial reasons heading into the offseason. Stidham has a very favorable matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers, but fantasy managers would have to be downright desperate to consider using the 27-year-old as their QB2 in superflex leagues in Week 17. He has taken all of four offensive snaps this year. Stidham started two games for the Las Vegas Raiders at the end of last season, going 45-for-70 for 584 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions while running with the ball 14 times for 84 yards. Stidham looked half decent in that two-game audition in 2022, but he's going to be without No. 1 wideout Courtland Sutton (concussion) and could also be missing Jerry Jeudy (illness) and rookie receiver Marvin Mims Jr. (hamstring).
