New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) took part in individual drills during the light practice Monday, Oct. 14.

Fantasy Spin: Barkley has a chance to return against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7. He'd be a must-start if he goes.

From TheHuddle

Oct 11 2:23pm ET

New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) could return in Week 7, head coach Pat Shurmur said Friday, Oct. 11. 'We'll see,' Shurmur said. 'He's made good progress. He was out there running around (Friday). We'll see what the week brings.'

Fantasy Spin: Whether Barkley returns in Week 7 or 8, he'll still be far ahead of the initial timetable after going down in Week 3.

From TheHuddle

Oct 10 7:13pm ET

The New York Giants have declared RB Saquon Barkley, WR Sterling Shepard, TE Evan Engram, RB Wayne Gallman, G Chad Slade, OT Eric Smith and LB Tae Davis inactive for Week 6.

From TheHuddle

Oct 9 2:13pm ET

New York Giants TE Evan Engram (knee), RB Wayne Gallman (concussion) and WR Sterling Shepard (concussion) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 9, and have been ruled out for Week 6. RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) was limited during practice but has been ruled out. LB Lorenzo Carter (neck) was limited during practice and is listed as questionable. LB Alec Ogletree (hamstring), OT Nate Solder (ankle), LB Josiah Tauaefa (knee) and LB Tae Davis (concussion) fully participated in practice and are not on the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Oct 9 1:30pm ET

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 6 against the Patriots on Thursday night. Barkley is getting very close and could very well return in Week 7 in an excellent matchup against the Cardinals. With Wayne Gallman (concussion) also ruled out for Thursday, it'll be a combination of rookie Jonathan Hilliman and Elijhaa Penny in the backfield behind rookie signal-caller Daniel Jones. Hilliman should only be considered by the most desperate fantasy owners in the deepest of leagues against New England's stout defense. The Patriots still haven't allowed a rushing or receiving touchdown to a running back this year.

From RotoBaller

Oct 9 1:13pm ET

New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) was ruled out for Week 6.

Fantasy Spin: Wayne Gallman (concussion) is out as well, and fantasy owners will have to resort to the lottery tickets that Elijhaa Penny or Jonathan Hillman would be. The Giants are playing the New England Patriots and don't figure to be in the game long enough to run the ball. Avoid the situation altogether unless you're banking on a cheap DFS flyer.

From TheHuddle

Oct 8 5:43pm ET

New York Giants RB Wayne Gallman (concussion) and WR Sterling Shepard (concussion) did not practice for a second straight day Tuesday, Oct. 8. TE Evan Engram (knee), RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) and Lorenzo Carter (neck) were limited. LB Alec Ogletree (hamstring), OT Nate Solder (ankle), LB Josiah Tauaefa (knee) and LB Tae Davis (concussion) fully participated in practice Tuesday.

From TheHuddle

Oct 8 9:13am ET

New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) is unlikely to return Thursday, Oct. 10, to play in Week 6, according to sources.

Fantasy Spin: The doctors aren't expected to clear him just over two weeks from a high ankle sprain, but he'll have 10 more days before the Week 7 contest against the Arizona Cardinals. If everything continues to progress, he should be back for that game. Wayne Gallman is a risky flex option against the New England Patriots this week.

From TheHuddle

Oct 7 7:33pm ET

New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) has a chance to play in the team's Week 6 game, according to head coach Pat Shurmur.

Fantasy Spin: Barkley has missed two games because of the injury, but he was expected to miss more time because of the severity of the injury. Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation to see if Barkley can play this week. He will be a risky option if he is active but would still be a starting option.

From TheHuddle

Oct 7 5:33pm ET

New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) was limited during practice Monday, Oct. 7.

Fantasy Spin: Barkley was expected to miss multiple weeks because of the injury, but it seems he has a chance to play this week. He is a must-start option when he plays, but fantasy players may want to lower their expectations if he plays.

From TheHuddle

Oct 6 11:53am ET

The New York Giants have declared LB Alec Ogletree, QB Alex Tanney, DE Lorenzo Carter, RB Saquon Barkley, LB Tae Davis, OG Chad Slade and OL Eric Smith inactive for Week 5.

From TheHuddle

Oct 6 11:53am ET

New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) appears to have a realistic chance of playing in Week 6's game against the New England Patriots Thursday, Oct. 10, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Fantasy Spin: Barkley returned to practice on a limited basis Friday, Oct. 4, and he appears to have a strong chance of returning for Week 7's game against the Arizona Cardinals if he is unable to play against New England. Wayne Gallman will continue to be the team's primary option at running back while Barkley is sidelined and he is worthy of consideration as a flex option in most fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Oct 4 5:53pm ET

New York Giants LB Alec Ogletree (hamstring) was unable to practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 5 versus the Minnesota Vikings. LB Tae Davis (concussion) was limited in practice all week and has been ruled out. RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) was upgraded to a limited practice Friday, Oct. 4, and has also been ruled out. LB Lorenzo Carter (neck) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable. OG Kevin Zeitler (shoulder), RB Wayne Gallman (neck) and OT Nate Solder (neck) fully participated in practice Friday and have been removed from the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Oct 4 1:00pm ET

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) was officially ruled out for Week 5 against the Vikings. Barkley should obliterate his four- to eight-week timetable to return from a high ankle sprain, but he won't play this Sunday. Wayne Gallman will continue to serve as an RB2 as the lead back, but that might only be the case for one more week. Barkley was seen cutting and moving laterally at close to full speed this week off to the side during practice, so he looks close to returning, although the Giants won't rush him back too soon.

From RotoBaller

Oct 4 12:53pm ET

New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) on Friday, Oct. 4, was ruled out for Week 5.

Fantasy Spin: Barkley does appear to be ahead of schedule, but having him return after only one missed game was never realistic. It'll be Wayne Gallman heading up the backfield for a second straight week.

From TheHuddle

Oct 3 5:33pm ET

New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 3.

Fantasy Spin: Barkley has not been ruled out for Week 5, but the team likely will not rush him back. It appears Barkley may return before originally thought, but he probably can be avoided this week.

From TheHuddle

Oct 3 1:50pm ET

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) missed practice for the second straight day on Thursday. However, Barkley looked good during individual drills at practice on Wednesday, and the Giants aren't yet ruling him out for Week 5 against the Vikings. He's ultimately doubtful to suit up, but a return as early as Week 6 could be in the cards. For now, Wayne Gallman will continue to work as the lead back, although he'll be more of a low-end RB2 this Sunday against a strong Vikings defensive front. Barkley's owners should be ecstatic with his quick recovery even if he doesn't play this weekend.

From RotoBaller

Oct 3 11:33am ET

New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) hasn't been ruled out for Week 5. Head coach Pat Shurmur said they'll 'bring Saquon back as quickly and smartly as possible.'

Fantasy Spin: There is close to no chance that Barkley returns this week. Wayne Gallman filled in admirably last week, but he'll have a tough matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. He's worth flex consideration.

From TheHuddle

Oct 2 4:33pm ET

New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle), LB Alec Ogletree (hamstring) and OG Kevin Zeitler (shoulder) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 2. LB Lorenzo Carter (neck), LB Tae Davis (concussion) and OT Nate Solder (neck) were limited during practice.

From TheHuddle

Oct 2 1:20pm ET

New York Giants head coach Pat Shurmur isn't ruling out running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) for Week 5 against the Vikings. "Some peoples doctors had him at eight weeks. Not my doctors," Shurmur said. Barkley didn't practice on Wednesday, but he was in full uniform doing individual drills off to the side. It's unlikely that he'll play this weekend, but he could be on track to return in Week 6. It might only be one more week for those to capitalize on Wayne Gallman, but he's more of a low-end RB2 this Sunday against the Vikings Defense. Barkley's fantasy owners should be ecstatic about the news of his potential early return from a high ankle sprain.
