2020 RTSports Outlook

Rudolph had a down season, posting some of the lowest numbers of his career when playing a full season. He didn't even hit 40 receptions or 400 yards. The only thing that saved his fantasy numbers some were his touchdowns, scoring six times. Rudolph was 15th overall in fantasy tight end scoring. His season high in yards was 67 and he hit the 50-yard mark just three times. Rudolph remains the starter for the Vikings but could lose out on more playing time to Irv Smith, an emerging target at the position. Rudolph isn't much of a blocker but a solid pass catcher. He has plus speed, very good hands and the ability to make the tough catch. He can also be a top red-zone target.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Rudolph is trending the wrong way and probably hit his ceiling four years back. Smith is going to cut into his production even more this year, grabbing more playing time at tight end. The only thing that might save Rudolph a little is the departure of Stefon Diggs, which could open the door for a few more targets for Rudolph. Either way, Rudolph is more of a No. 2 fantasy tight end. He can get around 45 receptions for 450 yards and five touchdowns.

RotoBaller's Outlook

Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph will enter his 10th season in the league and having played his entire career with the club. While he has managed to stay healthy over the years, he isn't the same player from a production standpoint that he was seasons ago. His six touchdowns in 2019 were welcomed by his fantasy owners, but his 39 receptions and 48 targets were some of the lowest marks of his career. Heading into 2020, Rudolph still possesses late-round value, but only in deeper formats, especially in 14-team leagues that require multiple tight ends on a week-to-week basis. However, anything beyond that, the 30-year-old is a desperation addition only capable of providing efficient performances when the matchup is right. 2019 Second-round pick Irv Smith Jr. will also likely have a more prominent role within the organization, which will ultimately drop Rudolph's stock even more.
