Dec 31 12:33am ET

Pittsburgh Steelers RB James Conner rushed for 64 yards on 14 carries and added 30 yards by hauling in each of his three targets in Week 17 versus the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fantasy Spin: Connor did not appear to be the least bit inhibited by the high-ankle sprain that cost him the previous three games and returned to a heavy workload considering the length of his absence. The second-year back proved to be a very capable replacement for Le'Veon Bell in his first extended opportunity to be the bell-cow back in Pittsburgh this season, posting 1,470 total yards and 13 total touchdowns in 13 games. Conner figures to be a late first-round pick at worst in most fantasy drafts next summer.

Dec 30 10:20pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner rushed for 64 yards and added three catches for 30 yards in his team's 16-13 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17. Making his return to the lineup following a three-game absence due to a high-ankle sprain, Conner lost just two carries to backup Jaylen Samuels. Conner finishes his impressive 2018 season with 973 rushing yards, 55 receptions, 497 receiving yards, and 13 total touchdowns. He will be an RB1 in fantasy drafts in 2019.

Dec 30 3:30pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner (ankle) is active for Week 17's must-win game against the Bengals. It'll be Conner's first game in the last three weeks after suffering a high ankle sprain. He practiced in full last week, so he should be able to play a full complement of snaps in a must-win game. He'll have RB2 upside in an excellent matchup against Cincy's poor defense. Conner ran 19 times for 111 yards and two touchdowns in the first meeting with the Bengals. Rookie Jaylen Samuels only has appeal as an RB3/flex in PPR leagues with Conner back in the fold.

Dec 30 3:23pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers RB James Conner (ankle) is officially active for the team's Week 17 game.

Dec 30 11:30am ET

Pittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner (ankle) is expected to play in Week 17 against the Bengals after three full practices last week. However, the team still wants to see how he does in warmups before officially making him active, according to a source. It looks like Conner will return after a three-game absence. That means that rookie Jaylen Samuels will return to more of a passing-down role, making him an RB3/flex option in PPR leagues. Conner will have RB2 upside in Week 17 if he plays.

Dec 30 1:23am ET

Pittsburgh Steelers RB James Conner (ankle) is determined to play in Week 17 versus the Cincinnati Bengals, but the team wants to test him during warmups before making a final determination, according to a source.

Fantasy Spin: It seems entirely possible Conner, who is listed as questionable on the injury report with a high-ankle sprain he suffered in Week 13, could be limited to early-down work if he plays while Jaylen Samuels takes most of the passing-down snaps. It is also possible the Steelers view Cincinnati as an opponent they should beat without their top running back and give him one more week to heal in the event they sneak into the playoffs. If that scenario occurs, Samuels could enjoy RB1 production again.

Dec 30 1:00am ET

Pittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner (ankle) is determined to play in a must-win Week 17 matchup against the Bengals, but the team wants to test him in pregame warmups before a final determination is made, according to a source. Conner has missed the last three games due to a high ankle sprain, and his status is very much up in the air. Even if he plays, rookie Jaylen Samuels figures to have a substantial role in the offense, making Conner more of a low-end RB2 if he's active.

Dec 28 4:53pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers RB James Conner (ankle) practiced in full for a third straight day Friday, Dec. 28 and he is off the injury report ahead of the Week 17 game with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fantasy Spin: Conner appears to be on track to play in the all-important season finale with the Bengals, as it is a must-win game with all hands on deck. It's possible he gets frequent rests since Jaylen Samuels has proven more than capable to handle backfield touches, too.

Dec 28 4:43pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown (knee) did not practice Friday, Dec. 28 and he is listed as questionable for Week 17 against the Cincinnati Bengals while LB Vince Williams (toe) did not practice and is considered doubtful. RB James Conner (ankle), S Sean Davis (quadriceps), OG Ramon Foster (not injury related), C Maurkice Pouncey (not injury related) and QB Ben Roethlisberger (not injury related) each practiced in full and are off the report.

Dec 28 3:20pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown (knee) and running back James Conner (ankle) are both questionable for the must-win Week 17 game against the Bengals. Brown has missed practice the last two days and is undergoing more tests for his knee discomfort. He could be a game-time decision, but ultimately we'd expect him to play in this important game. Even at less than 100 percent, Brown would be an elite WR1 if he's active. JuJu Smith-Schuster would likely be heavily targeted if Brown sits. Conner practiced in full this week and should return after a three-game absence. He'll have RB2 upside in an excellent matchup, while rookie Jaylen Samuels will back him up as an RB3/flex consideration.

From RotoBaller

Dec 27 6:33pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers RB James Conner (ankle) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 27.

Fantasy Spin: Conner appears to be on track to play after missing the last few weeks because of the ankle injury. He should receive most of the carries during the game and can be a No. 1 or No. 2 running back in all leagues.

Dec 26 5:50pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner (ankle) was listed as a full practice participant on Wednesday for the first time since he injured his ankle on Dec. 2. Conner has a real shot at returning for a must-win Week 17 game against the Bengals after missing the last three games. He'd have immediate RB2 upside in an excellent matchup, although rookie Jaylen Samuels deserves a role even if Conner returns. Samuels would be more of an RB3/flex in PPR leagues if Conner makes his return.

From RotoBaller

Dec 26 5:03pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown (not injury related), S Sean Davis (quadriceps), C Maurkice Pouncey (not injury related), QB Ben Roethlisberger (not injury related) and LB Vince Williams (toe) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 26. RB James Conner (ankle) practiced in full.

Dec 26 5:03pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers RB James Conner (ankle) was able to practice in full Wednesday, Dec. 26.

Fantasy Spin: Conner appears to be trending toward playing in Sunday's regular-season finale against the Bengals, and it wouldn't be surprising to see his touches limited somewhat after Jaylen Samuels was fairly effective in Conner's stead. Either way, if Conner is active in Week 17 he is a nice fantasy play and DFS option against a Cincinnati run defense which ranks 29th in the league.

Dec 25 2:13pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers RB James Conner (ankle) is questionable to play in Week 17, according to head coach Mike Tomlin. His practice participation this week will determine his availability.

Fantasy Spin: Both Conner and Jaylen Samuels have RB1 upside, but Conner is the better back and should be started if he's active. As for next year, Le'Veon Bell is unlikely to return to the Steelers. Samuels may limit Conner's ceiling, but Conner will hold low-end RB1 to high-end RB2 PPR value.

Dec 23 3:33pm ET

The Pittsburgh Steelers have declared RB James Conner, DE Olasunkanmi Adeniyi, CB Brian Allen, DE L.T. Walton, FS Marcus D. Allen, QB Mason Rudolph and OT Zach Banner inactive for Week 16.

Dec 21 4:33pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers RB James Conner (ankle) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 21, and has been ruled out for Week 16. S Terrell Edmunds (concussion), LB Bud Dupree (knee), C Maurkice Pouncey (non-injury) and DE Cameron Heyward (knee) fully participated in practice and are not on the injury report.

Dec 21 4:13pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers RB James Conner (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 16 against the New Orleans Saints.

Fantasy Spin: Jaylen Samuels will draw another start and should be a very serviceable RB2 in PPR leagues. The Saints boast one of the league's best run defenses, however, so the odds are strong he will do most of his damage in the passing game.

Dec 20 4:43pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers RB James Conner (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 20.

Fantasy Spin: Conner is not expected to play in Week 16, so owners should look for other options for their lineups. Jaylen Samuels likely will receive another start and can be a No. 2 running back or flex option for owners.

Dec 20 2:03am ET

Pittsburgh Steelers RB James Conner (ankle) indicated he is 'not ready yet' to return to action during comments made on Wednesday, Dec. 19. Conner noted he is not walking with a limp, but the issues come when he tries cutting on the field.

Fantasy Spin: While Conner's remarks don't bode well for Week 16, nothing is official yet so keep an eye on the situation. Obviously Conner's absence would be a boon for Jaylen Samuels' fantasy value.
