Indianapolis Colts RB Nyheim Hines was used as a punt returned in Week 13 against the Tennessee Titans once WR Chester Rogers (knee) went down with a fractured knee.
Fantasy Spin: It explains why Hines didn't see as many carries in the run game, with Jordan Wilkins and Jonathan Williams handling the tailback chores with Marlon Mack still being evaluated.
From TheHuddle
Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines saw a small workload in Week 13, but he was able to get into the end zone to net him a decent fantasy day. He finished with four carries for 22 yards and a touchdown while adding two catches for 18 yards. This Colts backfield wasn't able to get a ton going and they were frequently rotating their running backs during the game. With no running back able to get clear of the pack, it takes the value away from all of them in the committee approach. Hines has fleeting RB3/flex appeal in deeper PPR leagues as the primary pass-catching back.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines was expected to see more work in Week 12 with starting running back Marlon Mack (hand) out, and he showed a little bit of something with those snaps. He finished with nine carries for 51 yards and two catches for 10 yards. That's good enough for 8.1 PPR points, and that's likely more than you were hoping for after the quiet season he has had thus far. Hines still remains nothing more than a deep league flex option in PPR formats, but this was a positive development to see with Mack out.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines saw his stock shoot up earlier this week when starting running back Marlon Mack (hand) was announced as out for Thursday's game with the Houston Texans. In PPR formats, Hines can easily get you 10 to 12 points with his ability to catch passes out of the backfield. The Texans have given up more receptions to running backs than any other team in the NFL this season. Hines still doesn't present much value in standard leagues, but he gives you a decent flex option if you're short-handed this week in PPR leagues.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts RB Nyheim Hines is still expected to see his normal role in the passing game in Week 12 against the Houston Texans, and not an increase in work despite the loss of RB Marlon Mack (hand).
Fantasy Spin: Hines will see his regular work on passing downs, but it appears Jonathan Williams and/or Jordan Wilkins will be counted upon as the workhorse back for carries.
From TheHuddle
Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines only got two carries against the Kansas City Chiefs, but he made up for it by leading the team in receiving yards. He finished with four catches for 46 yards, and he tied for the team lead with five targets. The team was expected to play from behind for much of the night, but, as they were working to salt away the game, they rode fellow running back Marlon Mack down the stretch. If the Colts Defense is softer moving forward, Hines could continue to see more volume.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines does the majority of his work in the passing game. In Week 5, he could see a workload increase for a couple of reasons. One is that starting running back Marlon Mack (ankle) is dealing with an injury that could hold him out of Sunday night's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. In addition to that, the Colts could be playing from behind for much of the evening which would force them to throw more. Hines is the guy that's on the field when they throw. If the Chiefs go up early, Hines would be for a huge night.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines has been quiet for much of the season thus far. In the Week 4 loss to the Oakland Raiders, he got involved due to the offense being behind for much of the afternoon. He had just three carries for six yards, but he had six catches for 39 yards. He had just six targets on the day, and he was the only player outside of running back Jordan Wilkins, one target, to catch all of the passes thrown in their direction. If the defense forces the offense to play from behind more moving forward, that causes Hines' value to rise.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines has been held mostly in check for the first couple weeks of the season. In Week 3, he has more upside than we've seen thus far. Starting running back Marlon Mack has been battling an injury all week, and the Colts will likely have to put up points to keep up with the Atlanta Falcons. If Mack is unable to go or is limited in any way, Hines earns strong flex consideration as a result. In PPR formats, he's a strong possibility.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines does his best work when he's catching a high volume of passes. In Week 2, against the Tennessee Titans, he was nearly invisible. He had two carries for nine yards and one catch for five yards. Hines also had to contend with running back Jordan Wilkins who had five carries on the day. Unless there is an injury to fellow running back Marlon Mack, Hines remains nothing more than a dart throw in extremely deep leagues moving forward.
From RotoBaller
In Week 1, Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines caught all four of his targets for just four yards. He also added four carries for 13 yards. In Week 2, he's nothing more than a dart throw in very deep leagues. During his rookie season, Hines' value came from his volume in the passing game with an average of 3.9 receptions per game. Against the Tennessee Titans this week, the outlook is not the brightest for him. The Titans allowed just four receptions to Cleveland Browns running backs for 24 yards. Unless you're playing in an ultra-deep league, you're avoiding Hines until he sees an uptick in his workload.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines had a favorable game script in Week 1 with the team playing from behind for much of their overtime loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. He had four carries for 13 yards to go with four catches for four yards. During his rookie season, Hines did his damage in the receiving game. That didn't happen for him during Week 1, and he'll be looking to bounce back moving forward.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines was mildly inconsistent last season, but, in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers, he gets a slight bump as a low-end flex play. Hines' value is mostly in PPR formats where he gets a lot of dump-off passes. Quarterback Jacoby Brissett will likely be targeting Hines a fair amount especially if they're playing from behind which is very possible against an explosive Chargers offense.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines was a major PPR threat last season when the team was playing from behind. With the initial 53-man roster and waiver claims completed, it's clear that he is the number two running back on this roster behind starter Marlon Mack. Hines isn't a great runner between the tackles due to his diminutive stature, but he is a solid pass catcher. The Colts will likely be playing from behind more this season which means that he should be on the field a fair bit this year. As a deep-league streamer, you could do much worse.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines represents a solid flex running back in PPR scoring leagues. During recent practices, he's been getting a lot of work with the return unit. He's an explosive young player, and he ran a 4.38 second 40-yard dash prior to the combine. He had 63 catches last season, and that number should be even higher this year. If he can slot into a role similar to New England Patriots running back James White, he can have a ton of upside.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts RB Nyheim Hines' role could be affected 'a little bit' by the arrival of WR Parris Campbell, according to head coach Frank Reich. 'And yeah, with Parris (Campbell) in the slot that could affect Nyheim a little bit. It would ultimately, probably affect him a little bit, but that is a good thing. We will just continue to fine tune and by game plan, I think that is one of the things that we've done well is figure that out week-to-week how to apply the personnel against the defense that we're playing,' Reich said.
