2024 RTSports Outlook

Last season was supposed to be the breakout season for Sutton, but that didn't happen. He wasn't quite on the same page with new quarterback Russell Wilson and the entire offense struggled. New coach Sean Payton should be a big positive for the entire offense, though, including Sutton. He still had more than 800 yards last year and was 43rd overall in fantasy receiver scoring. His two scores really held back his fantasy production. He did have 10 games with double-digit fantasy points despite the lack of scores. He remains a big part of this passing game. Sutton has a great combination of size and speed. He does a good job of making the catch above the defenders. He is a tall, strong target. He lacks a little polish, but has made strides since entering the league.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Sutton is a tough fantasy player to gauge. The potential is certainly there for a huge season, but his work the last few years is a concern. He is not a sure thing. Take him as a No. 3 fantasy receiver and hope for a breakout season. He can get around 80 receptions for 1,100 yards and six touchdowns.

Denver Broncos WR Courtland Sutton is not being shopped to other teams at this time.

Fantasy Spin: The Broncos have moved on from Jerry Jeudy, but it seems like Sutton will continue to be the main receiver for the Broncos. He will see a good amount of targets each game and could be a No. 3 fantasy receiver in most fantasy leagues.

Denver Broncos WR Courtland Sutton is expected back with the team in 2024, Mike Klis of 9News.com wrote on Sunday, Feb. 25.

Fantasy Spin: Sutton didn't crack 800 yards last year but cashed in with 10 touchdowns to make him a flex option. Looking ahead to 2024, it's going to be tough for Sutton to sustain that kind of scoring output and he might be catching passes from a different quarterback altogether if Denver decides to part with Russell Wilson. Sutton remains in the flex conversation but is on shaky ground.

Feb 12 8:23pm ET

Denver Broncos WR Courtland Sutton may be asked to restructure his contract this offseason because he is currently scheduled to count $17.4 million against the salary cap in 2024, in the opinion of Denver7 Sports' Troy Renck.

Fantasy Spin: Sutton has gone four seasons without a 1,000-yard season but will continue to be a starter if he remains with the Broncos. He probably will be rostered in fantasy leagues next season but probably will not be a weekly starting option.

Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton (ankle) wouldn't mind forgetting his performance in the Week 18 regular season finale loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, but it didn't put a damper on what was a memorable year for the sixth-year receiver. Sutton injured his ankle in the 27-14 loss and finished with only one reception on four targets for two yards. The 28-year-old pass-catcher finished an ultra-productive season with a total of 59 catches on 90 targets for 772 yards and a career-high 10 touchdowns. His previous high in TDs was set in his second season in 2019, when he had six. It was surely an impressive year for Sutton, but the majority of his fantasy production was propped up by his reliance on finding the end zone and his chemistry with quarterback Russell Wilson, who is expected to be cut in March.

Denver Broncos WR Courtland Sutton caught one of his four targets for two yards in a 27-14 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 18.

From TheHuddle

Jan 6 1:50pm ET

Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton (concussion) suffered a concussion in Week 16 that kept him out of the Week 17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, but he was able to practice in full on Thursday and Friday and has been cleared to return for the Week 18 regular season finale on Sunday against the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders. The 28-year-old has had a fabulous 2023 season, catching a career-high 10 touchdowns, which is tied for third among all wideouts. But despite his red-zone prowess, Sutton ranks as the WR27 in half-PPR points with only 58 receptions for 770 yards in his 15 games played. All of his production this year came with Russell Wilson at quarterback for the Broncos, so Sutton probably won't be worth his DFS price for the regular season finale now that Jarrett Stidham is Denver's starter under center.

From RotoBaller

Jan 5 7:23pm ET

Denver Broncos WR Courtland Sutton (concussion) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 5, and is not on the injury report for Week 18.

Fantasy Spin: Sutton will return to the lineup after missing the game last week and should see a decent amount of targets against the Las Vegas Raiders. He can be at least a flex option in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Jan 4 5:53pm ET

Denver Broncos P Riley Dixon (person), LS Mitchell Fraboni (personal), TE Chris Manhertz (illness), OT Mike McGlinchey (ribs) and DL Mike Purcell (rest) did not take part in practice on Thursday, Jan. 4. Also, LB Josey Jewell (back), LB Baron Browning (concussion), WR Marvin Mims (hamstring), OT Alex Palczewski (knee), RB Samaje Perine (rest) and WR Courtland Sutton (concussion) practiced in full.

From TheHuddle

Jan 4 5:53pm ET

Denver Broncos WR Courtland Sutton (concussion) was a full participant in practice on Thursday, Jan. 4, after being limited the day prior.

Fantasy Spin: Sutton looks on track to return in Week 18, but it's also possible the Broncos don't play their key players, or at least not for a full complement of snaps. Making him an even more riskier option, Jarrett Stidham will be under center and Sutton hasn't played a single snap with him all season long. Sutton remains on the flex radar but on the lower end of the spectrum.

From TheHuddle

Jan 3 7:33pm ET

Denver Broncos WR Courtland Sutton (concussion) was limited during practice Wednesday, Jan. 3.

Fantasy Spin: Sutton should have a good chance to play in the finale if he can pass his concussion tests before the game. He has a big part in the passing game when healthy and can be a starting option in fantasy leagues if active.

From TheHuddle

Dec 31 3:13pm ET

The Denver Broncos have declared WR Marvin Mims, C Alex Forsyth, LB Baron Browning, S JL Skinner, DL Thomas Incoom, DT Elijah Garcia and WR Courtland Sutton inactive for Week 17.

From TheHuddle

Dec 29 6:13pm ET

Denver Broncos WR Courtland Sutton (concussion) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 29, and has been ruled out for Week 17.

Fantasy Spin: Sutton will need to pass his concussion tests before he can play again, so fantasy players will need to check on him next week. Jerry Jeudy and Marvin Mims are also dealing with injuries, so fantasy players may want to avoid all Broncos receivers this week.

From TheHuddle

Dec 29 4:40pm ET

Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton (concussion) remains in concussion protocol after missing all three practices this week. He has officially been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Denver's offense will find itself shorthanded this weekend with Sutton sidelined and quarterback Russell Wilson benched. Although Jerry Jeudy and Marvin Mims Jr. are expected to earn increased snaps this week, they will be difficult to trust in fantasy football with Jarrett Stidham quarterbacking the team.

From RotoBaller

Dec 28 7:40pm ET

Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton (concussion) remains in the league's concussion protocol and missed his second straight practice of the week on Thursday. Sutton was forced from Denver's Christmas Eve loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday due to a concussion and is now in jeopardy of missing his first game of the year in Week 17 against the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers. The 28-year-old had a career year in 2023, but it's looking like fantasy managers may be without him during their championship matchups this week. Rookie Marvin Mims Jr. (hamstring) popped up on the injury report on Thursday, too, so Jerry Jeudy and Brandon Johnson could have much bigger roles in the passing game in a great matchup against the Bolts. On the flip side, with quarterback Russell Wilson now benched, all of Denver's pass-catchers are even less attractive in fantasy.

From RotoBaller

Dec 28 5:13pm ET

Denver Broncos LB Baron Browning (concussion), TE Greg Dulcich (hamstring, foot), TE Chris Manhertz (rest), DT Mike Purcell (rest), S Justin Simmons (illness), WR Courtland Sutton (concussion) and RB Dwayne Washington (illness) did not practice on Thursday, Dec. 28. In addition, WR Marvin Mims Jr. (hamstring) was limited and LB Nik Bonitto (knee), OT Alex Palczewski (knee) and RB Samaje Perine (rest) practiced in full.

From TheHuddle

Dec 28 5:13pm ET

Denver Broncos WR Courtland Sutton (concussion) did not take part in practice for the second straight day on Thursday, Dec. 28.

Fantasy Spin: After exiting last week's game early due to a concussion, Sutton is trending in the wrong direction for Week 17. He's a flex option if he suits up, but if not his absence should provide a boost for both Jerry Jeudy and Marvin Mims Jr. (hamstring), although Mims is dealing with his own injury that leaves his status up in the air. Jeudy is the better option, anyway, between neither is trustworthy.

From TheHuddle

Dec 27 7:43pm ET

Denver Broncos WR Courtland Sutton (concussion) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 27.

Fantasy Spin: Sutton will need to pass his concussion tests before he can play again, so fantasy players will need to check on his status later in the week. He has been playing very well this season and can be a starting option in leagues if he is cleared to play.

From TheHuddle

Dec 27 6:40pm ET

Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton (concussion) was not present at the team's practice on Wednesday after suffering a concussion in Sunday night's Christmas Eve loss to the New England Patriots. The 28-year-old gave fantasy managers a donut as an early Christmas present on Sunday when he failed to corral his only target against the Pats before getting hurt. He'll need to pass through the league's concussion protocol this week if he wants to play in Week 17 against the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers. Given the fact that the Broncos' playoff chances are hanging by a thread at this point, it seems likely Sutton will be held out this week. Jerry Jeudy, Brandon Johnson and rookie Marvin Mims Jr. could should all see more targets if Sutton misses this Sunday's game, but their fantasy ceilings will also be limited now that Denver is turning its offense over to quarterback Jarrett Stidham for the final two weeks.

From RotoBaller

Dec 24 11:33pm ET

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos WR Courtland Sutton (concussion) was unable to return to the Week 16 game against the New England Patriots after suffering a concussion. He went without a reception on just a single target before departing.

Fantasy Spin: It's uncertain if Sutton will be ready to return in Week 17 against the Los Angeles Chargers. We'll know more once practices resume on Wednesday, and certainly by Friday when the official injury designations come out. If he cannot go, Marvin Mims might see more targets against the Bolts.

From TheHuddle

Dec 24 10:10pm ET

Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton will not return on Sunday night due to a concussion. Sutton has been the main contributor in the passing game and has been the most consistent offensive player to find the end zone for the Broncos. Head injuries, whether it's a concussion or not, usually hold players out more often than not, so this is a bit of a worrisome injury at the moment. While he's out, Jordan McLaughlin and Marvin Mims Jr. have been getting the bulk of the targets in this matchup. Fantasy managers will want to check back after the game to see how long Sutton will be out as he goes through concussion protocol. Mims and Jerry Jeudy will be seeing the targets for the rest of this contest.
