2024 RTSports Outlook

The Dolphins added more speed to their offense, picking Wright in the fourth round of this year's draft. He is electric with the ball in his hands. Wright does well as a receiver and can make big plays after the catch. He isn't too polished as an inside runner, though, and lacks a little thump at the position. Wright has a chance to unseat Raheem Mostert as the top backup to Devon Achane. Mostert is coming off a huge season but is 32 years old and not getting any younger. Wright is the future at the position. He will at least serve as the No. 3 back and get some weekly chances in this explosive offense.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Wright might be hit or miss but expect some big games along the way. He will be tough to play, though, because you just never know when those games might come. He probably is worth a late-round look come draft day. He can get around 600 total yards, 30 receptions and a few scores.

RotoBaller's Outlook

Miami Dolphins running back Jaylen Wright, who was selected in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, will not begin his pro career as a starter. However, he's one of the rare third-string running backs worth monitoring in fantasy football. The Dolphins are likely to split the backfield work between veteran Raheem Mostert and youngster De'Von Achane to begin the season, but Wright could be thrust into action at any point. Mostert is 32 years old and Achane is under 190 pounds, meaning both players have increased injury risk at a brutal position for contact and minor or major ailments. If one or both of the two backs goes down, -- Wright -- who ran a 4.38 forty-yard dash at the NFL combine, will fit right in the offense and possess one-play touchdown upside. After your wide receiver position is set in fantasy drafts, stashing high-upside backup running backs is an advantageous strategy. Wright fits that bill in 12, 14, and 16-team leagues as a rookie.

Dynasty | The fourth round selection of RB Jaylen Wright makes a fast Dolphins offense even faster. Dynasty Analysis: An offense built for speed adds another burner at RB, which could spell doom for 32 year-old Mostert. Despite leading the team in rushes, rushing yards, and rushing TDs, Mostert figures to take a back seat to second year paragon De'Von Achane, but the addition of Wright could push Mostert even further down the depth chart. The younger, fresher set of legs would cut into Mostert's workload at the absolute minimum, driving him down even further from his RB44 DLF ranking.

Dynasty | The Miami Dolphins drafted Tennessee running back Jaylen Wright in the fourth round of the NFL Draft. Dynasty Analysis: Dynasty managers were clearly hoping Wright would land in a place like Dallas where he had a chance to start but alas, it didn't happen as he was taken by Miami in the fourth round. Wright fits the profile of a what Miami likes - crazy athletes. Unfortunately for Wright, he's going to be a gadget player early in his career as he's buried behind Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane. Still, he has some long-term potential as a player who is extremely explosive. The landing spot is going to be a problem and Wright is looking like a late second or early third round rookie pick as a result.

The Miami Dolphins selected Tennessee running back Jaylen Wright to help beef up their RB room in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL draft on Saturday at pick No. 120. Wright, who ran a 4.38-second 40-yard dash at the scouting combine, adds even more blazing speed to Miami's backfield alongside Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane. The 21-year-old isn't going to have much of a role in 2024 as long as both Mostert and Achane stay healthy, but it's a good long-term fit for those in dynasty/keeper leagues. Wright will see touches in his rookie season as the Dolphins look to manage the workloads of both Mostert and Achane, but it's not going to be enough to warrant attention in single-season leagues. He stands at 5-foot-11, 210 pounds.

Dynasty | Tennessee running back Jaylen Wright had a solid performance at this year's NFL Draft Combine. Dynasty Analysis: Wright posted an 11-2 in the broad jump and 38 inches in the vertical leap before posted a blistering 4.38 in the 40-yard dash. After leading the Nation in yards per carry, Wright proved his tape was no fluke as his athleticism was on full display over the weekend. While there's a lot of questions in regards to his size, Wright seems like a true home run hitter. His landing spot is going to be very interesting to watch and also likely a round or two higher after his combine display.
