2020 RTSports Outlook

Rosen was deal to the Dolphins but was unable to take the starting job from Ryan Fitzpatrck. Rosen did get in some games but really struggled, having one touchdown to five interceptions in six games. He also completed just 53 percent of his passes. Rosen has 12 touchdowns to 19 interceptions in two NFL seasons. He still has a lot of work to do to become an NFL starter. He has not shown much since entering the league, likely making him a backup this year. Rosen has great mechanics and looks the part of a top NFL signal caller. He lacks a little ideal arm strength, though, and will force throws a times, trying to make the big play too often.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Rosen is not worth the risk. You can't write him off just yet because he is only 23 years old, but until he starts showing progress on the field, Rosen is not worth a roster spot for fantasy teams.

RotoBaller's Outlook

After only one season in Arizona, Josh Rosen finds himself starting over. This season, with new coach Kliff Kingsbury in Arizona comes new quarterback Kyler Murray. Rosen was traded not long after Murray was selected and now finds himself in Miami. It is tough to think going to a rebuilding Dolphins team is a step up for anyone. For Rosen though, this is the case.Even after trading up to get him in the 2018 draft, the Cardinals did nothing to help him along in his rookie year. They forced him in behind a terrible offensive line after only two weeks. They saddled him with Mike McCoy as offensive coordinator. And head coach Steve Wilks ran a league-low 65 plays per game. If Rosen were more athletic, maybe this would have been OK, but Rosen is a pure pocket passer, not a runner. He will be going to a team in rebuild mode and is still only 22 years old, meaning he could be a player they build around. Players like Kenny Stills, Devante Parker, Mike Gesicki and Kenyan Drake, while not stars, are solid enough to help him progress in his career. Ryan Fitzpatrickis also there to mentor him for at least a season and provide competition. If he is able to beat out Fitzpatrick for the starting job in Miami, he could be a somewhat usable fantasy quarterback. This means a solid backup or a second QB in two-quarterback leagues. In redraft he is more of a streamer in a week with a good matchup. There are 20 or so quarterbacks who you could make a case for to draft in your fantasy league. If Ryan Fitzpatrick wins the Dolphins, he would be one of them. If Rosen wins the job though, he is still likely not someone who should be drafted. In dynasty leagues, if you can get him for cheap, he may be a good stash. If he pans out, you have the starter for an NFL team going forward. If not? He goes somewhere else and may find his way. The key is dont give up on him for the future.

Teams have called the Miami Dolphins about potentially trading for quarterback Josh Rosen, who is third on the QB depth chart behind Ryan Fitzpatrick and first-rounder Tua Tagovailoa. The Dolphins are in no hurry to trade Rosen despite the fact that the former first-rounder lost a competition with Fitzpatrick in 2019 in his first year in Miami. The 23-year-old played in six games (three starts) last year and looked lost with a 53.2 percent completion rate on 109 attempts, one touchdown and five interceptions. Rosen has thrown 12 touchdowns against 19 picks in his two seasons in the league and will simply be QB depth for whoever he's playing for in 2020.

Miami Dolphins quarterback Josh Rosen is likely to remain with the team heading into the 2020 season. However, his future in Miami doesn't look bright with Ryan Fitzpatrick coming back for another year and the Dolphins widely expected to take a franchise signal-caller with the fifth overall pick in the first round of the draft. It's clear that the team doesn't view Rosen, 23, as the future under center at this point. The former 2018 first-round pick was acquired from the Cardinals before last season, but he couldn't beat out Fitzpatrick and will have to learn another new offense, one that Fitzpatrick is familiar with. Unless something unexpected happens this summer, Rosen will open up the 2020 season holding a clipboard again.

Miami Dolphins QB Josh Rosen hasn't been written off, according to general manager Chris Grier, and Grier said he saw improvement in Rosen during practice throughout the year.
