A move to Houston was supposed to get whitings going for Howard again, but that didn't happen. He had just 10 receptions for 145 yards in 13 games. He did score two touchdowns, though, which was a positive for his limited workload. He still has fewer than 15 receptions three straight seasons. Howard just hasn't progressed as expected and seems stuck in a reserve role, getting occasional work. Howard signed with the Raiders this offseason and likely serves a backup role with his new team. Howard is a big-play threat at tight end. He has very good speed for the position but also has the size to create mismatches defensively. Howard also blocks pretty well. He has lacked consistency since entering the league, though, and will drop some passes.
FANTASY OUTLOOK: Howard does not have of much fantasy value in a backup role. He won't get much work. Howard is a stretch for fantasy teams unless injury hits. Look for around 20 catches for 250 yards and a few scores.
