2024 RTSports Outlook

Hubbard played his best football late last season. He had a 100-yard rushing game in Week 16 and had double-digit fantasy points two of his last three games. He took a backseat to D'Onta Foreman many weeks after Christian McCaffrey was traded, but did get most of the work on passing downs. Hubbard had multiple receptions five times. He could play a bigger role for the Panthers rushing attack with some uncertainty surrounding the position. Hubbard can be a home-run threat at the position. He has very good vision and does a good job of setting his blocks. Hubbard lacks a little size for the position and needs some work on his blocking. He is an improving pass catcher, which could get him on the field even more this season.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Hubbard is a bit of a wild card, but has late-round value. He could see an uptick in playing time. Plus, it was encouraging seeing him perform well with more chances late last year. He could get around 700 total yards, 30 receptions and four touchdowns.

Player Notes
Jan 7 5:30pm ET

Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard carried the ball 23 times for 83 yards and added two catches for nine yards in a 9-0 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 18. Hubbard easily led the team in rushing in the regular-season finale as Miles Sanders saw just three touches in the loss. Hubbard ultimately turned in a successful season as he wrestled the starting role away from Sanders mid-season and never looked back. His role heading into next season remains up in the air, however, as the Panthers are likely to have a new head coach and general manager in place.

Jan 6 7:40am ET

Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard ran for 45 yards on 11 carries in a loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars last week. He will look to finish off the season on a high note in a home matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 18. The Buccaneers have been tough on running backs this season as they are allowing the third-fewest fantasy points per game. Hubbard should get one more shot as the lead back to prove he's the team's starting running back heading into next season, making him a volume-based RB2 worth a look in DFS tournaments this weekend.

Dec 31 9:30pm ET

Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard carried the ball 11 times for 45 yards and caught four of his five targets for 26 yards in a 26-0 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 17. Hubbard was held out of the end zone in the loss but he dominated the backfield work, seeing 15 touches to Miles Sanders' four. Hubbard will take five rushing touchdowns into the season finale against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 18.

From RotoBaller

Dec 30 7:20am ET

Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard ran for 43 yards and a touchdown in a Week 16 loss to the Green Bay Packers. He dealt with a hamstring issue that limited him in Wednesday and Thursday's practice this week but he was upgraded to a full session on Friday and is listed without an injury designation heading into a Week 17 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars represent a middle-of-the-road matchup for Hubbard as they are allowing the 15th-most fantasy points per game to running back in 2023. The Carolina offense hasn't been great this season but they should be able to move the ball against a struggling Jacksonville pass defense, putting Hubbard firmly in the low-end RB2 conversation.

From RotoBaller

Dec 28 3:00pm ET

Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard (hamstring) was a limited participant in practice for the second day in a row due to a hamstring injury. The 24-year-old had 16 carries against the Green Bay Packers in Week 16 after a three-game stretch of at least 22, but his snap share was still well ahead of that of Miles Sanders (toe). Hubbard has proven valuable as an RB2/flex player over the last five weeks, averaging 15.72 PPR points per game in that span. If he is unable to go in Week 17, then Sanders would get back his former featured role against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Over the last four weeks, the Jaguars have allowed 106.25 yards per game and five total touchdowns to opposing running backs.

Dec 27 2:20pm ET

Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard (hamstring) is listed as a limited participant in Wednesday's practice as he deals with a hamstring injury. The 24-year-old has become a valuable RB2/flex option in the second half of the 2023 season with Miles Sanders struggling. Hubbard has posted at least 10.6 half-PPR fantasy points in each of his last five games and has finished no lower than the RB24 during that stretch. If he's good to go in Week 17, he'll face a neutral matchup for running backs against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He's projected to be an RB2. If he can't play, Sanders will likely have a hefty workload and will have flex appeal.

Dec 24 4:30pm ET

Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard carried the ball 16 times for 43 yards and a touchdown while adding an eight-yard reception in a 33-30 loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 16. Hubbard's four-yard touchdown run in the third quarter gave him four scores over his past five contests. The veteran tailback has performed well as the lead running back in Carolina and should continue to return RB2 value for the final few weeks of the season. He will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road in Week 17.

From RotoBaller

Dec 23 6:30am ET

Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard has seen at least 22 carries in three straight games while rushing for at least 87 yards in each of those contests. He will look to stay hot in Week 16's home matchup against the Green Bay Packers. The Packers have been a plus matchup for running backs this season as they are allowing the ninth-most fantasy points per game to the position. Hubbard has taken over as Carolina's lead back and should see plenty of work against the Packers, keeping him on the map as a solid RB2 in fantasy this weekend.

Dec 17 4:30pm ET

Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard carried the ball 22 times for 87 yards and added two catches for 16 yards in a 9-7 win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 15. Hubbard dominated carries yet again on Sunday as backup Miles Sanders saw just six carries and two catches in the win. The Panthers have fully committed to Hubbard as their lead back since Chris Tabor took over as interim coach, which puts him in play as an RB2 moving forward. Hubbard will take on the Green Bay Packers in Week 16.

Dec 16 7:00am ET

Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard has been leaned on heavily since Chris Tabor took over as the team's interim head coach. In the two games since Frank Reich was fired, Hubbard has seen 48 carries and seven catches as Tabor has trusted him as the lead back. With two touchdowns in his past two games, Hubbard will now take on the Atlanta Falcons at home in Week 15. The Falcons have been tough against the run this season as they are allowing just the 29th-most fantasy points per game to the position. Hubbard will have his work cut out for him but he should see enough volume to treat as a low-end RB2 this weekend.

Dec 10 4:50pm ET

Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard carried the ball 23 times for 87 yards and added nine yards on two catches in a 28-6 loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 14. Hubbard continued his recent trend of leading the Carolina backfield as he out-touched Miles Sanders 25-to-10. The Panthers will continue to lean on Hubbard over the final portion of the season as their lead back. Hubbard will now prepare to take on the Atlanta Falcons in Week 15.

From RotoBaller

Dec 9 7:00am ET

Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard is coming off a 104-yard, two-touchdown game in a Week 13 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He will look to keep it going on the road against the New Orleans Saints in Week 14. The Saints have been tough on opposing running backs in 2023 as they are allowing just the 22nd-most fantasy points per game to the position so far. Hubbard has the bellcow role locked down in Carolina but the team's poor offense does cap his upside somewhat. Fantasy gamers should treat Hubbard as a low-end RB2 heading into Week 14's contests.

From RotoBaller

Dec 3 10:30pm ET

Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard carried the ball 25 times for 104 yards and two touchdowns in a 21-18 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 13. Hubbard turned in an excellent fantasy outing in this one as he found the end zone on a pair of one-yard runs in the game. The veteran wideout dominated Carolina's backfield touches in the loss as Miles Sanders only notched eight carries and one catch. Hubbard is setting up as a low-end RB2 in fantasy moving forward. He will look for more success in Week 14 against the New Orleans Saints.

Dec 3 7:30pm ET

Carolina Panthers' RB Chuba Hubbard ran for 104 yards on 25 carries with two touchdowns in Sunday's loss in Tampa Bay.

Dec 2 7:50am ET

Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard is coming off a productive game in which he scored a touchdown and also caught five passes for 47 yards. He will look to stay hot in Week 13's road matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tampa Bay's defense has been much better against the run than the pass this season, which sets the Panthers up for a pass-first approach this weekend. Hubbard has been the lead back in Carolina for much of the season but the Panthers have kept Miles Sanders in the mix as part of a committee, which cuts into the former's workload. The Panthers also have one of the lowest-scoring offenses in the league which limits Hubbard's upside, setting him up as a flex option in fantasy in Week 13.

Nov 26 9:50pm ET

Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard carried the ball 14 times for 45 yards and a touchdown while adding five receptions for 47 yards in a 17-10 loss to the Tennessee Titans in Week 12. Hubbard barely out-touched Miles Sanders, 19 to 15, but he was the one who managed to score Carolina's lone touchdown in the loss. Hubbard and Sanders appear to be locked into a timeshare moving forward, which, along with a weak Panthers offense, will cap both players' upside in fantasy. He will look to find the end zone again in Week 13 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

From RotoBaller

Nov 25 7:00am ET

Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard finished with 57 rushing yards on 10 carries in a Week 11 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. He also saw a much more even split with backup Miles Sanders in that game after dominating touches for a multi-week stretch. Hubbard appears to have failed to lock down the lead role in Carolina, opening the way for Sanders to get back into the mix heading into a Week 12 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Tennessee has been solid against the run in 2023 as they are allowing just the 18th-most fantasy points per game to running backs thus far. Hubbard is on the map as an RB3/flex play in Week 12 but don't hesitate to leave him on the bench if you have better options.

From RotoBaller

Nov 19 4:30pm ET

Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard carried the ball 10 times for 57 yards and added two catches for eight yards in a 33-10 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 11. Hubbard wound up seeing one fewer carry than backup Miles Sanders as the Panthers spread out the backfield touches more than in recent weeks. That being said, Hubbard still remains the lead back in Carolina, although the offense hasn't gotten much going of late. Hubbard will face off against the Tennessee Titans on the road in Week 12.

From RotoBaller

Nov 16 6:20pm ET

Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard has wrestled the starting role away from Miles Sanders this season but it hasn't exactly translated to fantasy points for him as he's averaging just 8.0 fantasy points per game over his past three contests. Hubbard might struggle to get things going against a tough Dallas Cowboys defense in Week 11. The Cowboys are allowing just the 24th-most fantasy points per game to opposing running backs in 2023, setting up a difficult matchup for Hubbard in Week 11. He is on the map as an RB3 this weekend but fantasy managers should temper their expectations as the Panthers offense could struggle to move the ball in this one.

From RotoBaller

Nov 10 5:20am ET

Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard carried the ball nine times for 23 yards and added two receptions for 16 yards in a 16-13 loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 10's Thursday night game. Hubbard didn't have a big game, although he did continue to play ahead of former starter Miles Sanders, who only saw two carries and two receptions in the loss. He got off to a decent enough start in the game with 15 rushing yards in the first quarter but Carolina went with a more pass-heavy approach after halftime as Hubbard only saw three carries for three yards in the second half of the game. Hubbard hasn't had a big game in a few weeks but he appears to have a tight grip on the No. 1 role in Carolina, which gives him fantasy value as a flex option moving forward. That being said, the entire Panthers offense could struggle to move the ball in Week 11's home matchup against a tough Dallas Cowboys defense.
