2024 RTSports Outlook

White was down the depth chart his rookie season and played little. He ran 17 times for 70 yards in 14 games. White could move up the depth chart this year, though, and challenge for the top backup job. White is a very strong back that does his best work between the tackles. He runs with plenty of thump. He is a work of progress in the passing game, though, and didn't catch a pass his rookie season. He is not a three-down back at this stage of his career.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: White might see the field a little more this year, but still carries little fantasy value. He will not get a lot of weekly work. He might get around 300 or 400 total yards and a score or two.

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White got the start again and handled another huge workload in Week 18 against the Denver Broncos. White had 25 carries for 112 yards on the ground. The Raiders running back around brought in one of his two targets for nine yards in this contest. White finished his season strong and made a great case to be the team's starting running back if Josh Jacobs departs in the offseason. White and the Raiders have been eliminated from the playoffs, so their season has ended. Fantasy managers and Raiders fans will be interested to see what transpires before the beginning of next season for this team that cleared house in the middle of the season.

Raiders' RB Zamir White ran for 112 yards on 25 carries but no touchdowns in Sunday's win against the Broncos.

Jan 7 3:20am ET

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White has been the team's starting running back since Week 15 and has looked dominant in the role since taking over. White ran for 71 yards on 20 carries last week against the Indianapolis Colts. In addition to his massive workload on the ground, White brought in five of his six targets for 35 receiving yards. White has stepped up in the absence of Josh Jacobs, and he should continue to dominate in Week 18. White faces the Denver Broncos in the final game of the season. The Broncos have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points per game to running backs this season. White is heavily involved on the ground and in the passing game, which makes him extremely valuable. Fantasy managers should not think twice because White is essentially a must-start.

Dec 31 4:10pm ET

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White had 20 carries for 71 yards in the loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. White also had five catches for 35 yards on six targets in this contest. White again handled the majority of carries and catches out of the backfield. Despite the numerous opportunities, White could not score a touchdown in this contest. Outside of White and Davante Adams, the Raiders had no real playmakers on offense against the Indianapolis team. The Raiders take on the Denver Broncos in Week 18. The Broncos are one of the easiest matchups for running backs, allowing the most rushing yards per game this season. Raiders running back Josh Jacobs did not practice this week, so there is still doubt surrounding his return for Week 18. If White remains the starter against the Broncos, he should be a near must-start player. Fantasy managers should watch the Raiders backfield closely and start White if he is allowed to be the lead back again.

Dec 30 3:00am ET

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White was the starter for the team again in Week 16. White had 22 carries for 145 yards in the matchup. The Raiders running back failed to bring in his only target of the game, but he was productive with his touches on the ground. White was pivotal in the Raiders sealing the win against the Kansas City Chiefs last week. With Josh Jacobs sidelined, White has been very productive as the Raiders starting running back. The Raiders take on the Indianapolis Colts in Week 17. The Colts are among the most advantageous matchups for running backs, so White could be in for a big game if Jacobs misses. Jacobs was officially listed as doubtful after not practicing all week, so all signs point to White being the starter again. Fantasy managers should prepare to head into championship week with White as a starter on their team.

Dec 26 3:40am ET

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White had 22 carries for 145 yards in the win against the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday. White once again stepped into the Josh Jacobs role and was productive. The Raiders offense could not get much done through the air but the defense and run game won this contest. After dropping 63 points on the Chargers, the Raiders followed up with 20 against the Chiefs, including two defensive scores. The Raiders take on the Indianapolis Colts in Week 17. The Colts rank 30th in fantasy points allowed to running backs, so it will be a juicy matchup for whoever starts at running back for the Raiders next week. By all accounts, Jacobs was nearing a return this week, so there is optimism he will be available for the Raiders next game. White is a crucial handcuff option for fantasy managers to hold in case Jacobs cannot play next week.

Raiders' RB Zamir White ran for 145 yards on 22 carries but no touchdowns in Monday's win in Kansas City.

Dec 25 10:40am ET

It was reported today by Tom Pelissero from NFL Network that Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs (quad/illness) will not be able to play this week against the Kansas City Chiefs. With Jacobs not able to suit up in Week 16, Zamir White will once again function as the lead running back for the Raiders with Ameer Abdullah in the mix as well. Last week against the Chargers with Jacobs out, White had a strong game racking up 17 carries for 69 yards and a touchdown -- while also grabbing three catches on four targets for 16 yards -- good for a total of 17.9 fantasy points in PPR leagues. For fantasy managers with an open roster spot still available, or for those setting DFS lineups today, White should be considered a solid RB2/FLEX option with upside.

Dec 24 12:30am ET

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White was the starter for the team in Week 15. White and the Raiders dropped 63 points in their Thursday night matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. White had 17 carries for 69 yards and a touchdown in the matchup. The Raiders running back also brought in three of his four targets for 16 receiving yards last week. With the Raiders starting running back, Josh Jacobs, trending towards a return in Week 16, White could be relegated to his backup role this week. The Raiders take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday. The Chiefs are not a bad matchup for running backs, so White could be a decent play if Jacobs does miss the game. Fantasy managers should hold onto White as an insurance policy because he is the clear backup to a running back with a massive workload.

Dec 15 6:10am ET

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White had 17 carries for 69 yards and a touchdown in the win against the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday night. White also caught three passes for 16 yards in the contest. White stepped into the Josh Jacobs role and handled the majority of touches out of the backfield. The Raiders offense looked unstoppable tonight and White was a beneficiary of that. The Las Vegas offense dropped 63 points on the Chargers, with most of the damage coming in the first half of the game. The Raiders take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night in Week 16. The Chiefs defense is no easy matchup, but the lead back for the Raiders is a valuable role for fantasy. Jacobs will have a long week to recover, but White will be a viable option for fantasy managers in Week 16 if he cannot go.

Dec 14 3:00am ET

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White has been uninvolved in the Raider offense for much of the season, with starter Josh Jacobs carrying an enormous workload, but that could change in Week 15. Jacobs left last week's game early with a knee injury, which has prevented him from practicing this week. The Raiders play on Thursday night against the Los Angeles Chargers this week. Given the short turnaround time and lack of practice, it seems unlikely that Jacobs will suit up for Thursday's contest. In the absence of Jacobs, White should step into the RB1 role. White will likely handle the bulk of the carries, while Ameer Abdullah should mix in for passing downs and two-minute drills. The Chargers defense is not the easy matchup it once was for running backs. Still, given the uncertainty surrounding the Chargers offense, White could be an intriguing option for bold fantasy managers this week.

Oct 21 2:00am ET

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White had four opportunities for nine yards in the Week 6 win against the New England Patriots. White carried the ball for two rushing yards. The Raiders second-year running back also reeled in both his targets for seven yards, a 6% target share. White had an increased role after not getting a single offensive snap in Week 5. The Raiders take on the Chicago Bears in Week 7. The Bears are one of the most favorable matchups for running backs. Despite the matchup, White is not nearly involved enough to make a difference in fantasy. Fantasy managers can leave White on their waiver wires or stash him on their bench as an insurance back for Josh Jacobs, who has one of the most robust workloads in the league.
