Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Gabe Davis is a risky flex play in Week 3, but a revenge game with the Buffalo Bills offers some unique upside if fantasy managers believe in that type of thing. Davis has been a boom-or-bust receiver his entire career, but he does currently lead the Jaguars in targets and is tied for the team lead in receptions with six. If the Jaguars offense can get it going on Monday night, he could be in line for a huge game. It is also just as likely he puts up a dud, but that is what fantasy managers signed up for when they drafted the former Bill. There are definitely safer plays, but Davis has interesting upside as a WR3/flex. While the Bills defense is better against the pass than the run, it is at least worth considering the veteran receiver for starting lineups in Week 3.

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Gabe Davis (knee) was spotted at Thursday's practice in training camp. Davis missed some time late last season with the Buffalo Bills due to a sprained PCL, but it looks like he'll be a full participant at camp to begin familiarizing himself with Jacksonville's offense ahead of the Aug. 10 preseason opener against the visiting Kansas City Chiefs. The 25-year-old deep threat was as erratic as ever in 2023, going catchless in four games during the regular season and exceeding 20 fantasy points on five other occasions, and he'll battle for targets on the perimeter with rookie first-rounder Brian Thomas Jr. in 2024. Star quarterback Trevor Lawrence has formed a clear connection with slot man Christian Kirk over the past two years, so Davis is likely going to give both the Jags and fantasy managers plenty of headaches as a weekly boom-or-bust WR4/flex option this fall.

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said that wide receiver Gabe Davis (knee) should be cleared for training camp this summer. The same can be said for defensive lineman Arik Armstead (knee), who is also recovering from a knee injury this offseason. Davis signed a three-year, $39 million deal with the Jaguars in March after spending the first four years of his career with the Buffalo Bills. The 25-year-old deep threat had at least six touchdowns in all four of his seasons in the league, but he's been extremely inconsistent and finished 2023 with 45 catches for 746 yards in 17 regular-season games. Davis will be locked in as a starter in a very capable Jacksonville offense, but he'll be competing for targets with Christian Kirk, first-rounder Brian Thomas and tight end Evan Engram and will likely continue to be a boom-or-bust fantasy asset at wide receiver.

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said that wide receiver Gabe Davis (knee) is working through an injury, so the team hasn't been able to see much from him yet after adding him in free agency this offseason. Davis missed the postseason last year with the Buffalo Bills due to a knee injury that he suffered in the Week 18 season finale against the Miami Dolphins, and apparently it's still an issue. While we don't expect the injury to keep him from participating in training camp or being ready for the start of the 2024 season, it's bad news for a player looking to learn a new offense in Jacksonville. The 25-year-old is another strong offensive situation in Jacksonville, but he'll face competition for targets from Christian Kirk and Brian Thomas and tight end Evan Engram, likely making him a boom/bust fantasy option yet again.
From RotoBaller
The Jacksonville Jaguars believe that new wide receiver Gabe Davis can do a lot of different things in their offense in 2024. "Gabe is, to me, like a Swiss Army knife. He can obviously run routes, the guy is right around 81-82 targets a year for the last four years if you average them out. He's a big part of the offense in Buffalo," head coach Doug Pederson said about Davis. The 25-year-old averaged 87 targets the last two years in Buffalo and caught 163 passes for 2,730 yards (26.7 yards per catch) and 27 touchdowns in four years with the Bills. With Calvin Ridley now with the Titans, the Jags will have to make up for the 136 targets he drew in 2023. Davis has big-play ability, but he'll be competing for targets with Christian Kirk, Zay Jones and Evan Engram and probably is going to be a boom-or-bust fantasy wideout again in 2024 with his new team.
