2024 RTSports Outlook

Pitts had a really disappointing second season, struggling to get on the same page with whoever was playing quarterback for the Falcons. He did have a few good showings, though, getting double-digit fantasy points three of 10 games. He also had his season cut short because of a knee sprain. The good news is Pitts got his looks when on the field, having 59 targets on the season. The bad news is he caught just 47.5 percent of those targets after catching 60.4 the previous season. Pitts remains a huge part of this Falcons passing attack. If he can get on the same page with Desmond Ridder, expect Pitts to make a leap this season. He is as talented as any tight end in the game. Pitts has great hands and is very athletic. He will make the tough catch in traffic. His combination of speed and size makes him a very tough cover at tight end. He still needs some work on his blocking but is making strides in that area.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Even after last season, consider Pitts a top-10 fantasy option. He can get it going again. Remember, he was a 1,000-yard tight end as a rookie. Last season was more of a fluke than a trend for Pitts. He is too talented to post these types of numbers. Look for around 60 receptions for 800 yards and six touchdowns.

Atlanta Falcons general manager Terry Fontenot said that the team has a lot of faith in tight end Kyle Pitts now that he's fully healthy. Pitts played in all 17 games last year, but he wasn't fully healthy for much of the season after recovering from an MCL sprain in his right knee that he suffered in Week 11 of 2022. The 23-year-old former first-rounder had a frustrating 53-667-3 line in 2023, but he's already looking like a tight end to target in 2024 fantasy drafts. Not only will Pitts be another year beyond his knee injury, but Jonnu Smith is now gone, and new offensive coordinator Zac Robinson is expected to use Pitts all over the field this year. Pitts will be relatively cheap in drafts, too, so he's shaping up as an excellent value play. However, at the end of the day, how productive Pitts will be could depend on what quarterback Atlanta brings in.

Feb 21 2:20pm ET

Atlanta Falcons new offensive coordinator Zac Robinson sees tight end Kyle Pitts as very versatile. He's mainly been used in the passing game and had 667 receiving yards on 53 catches in his third NFL season in 2023. Pitts can also be an asset when it comes to blocking in the running game, too. "We're not oblivious to the fact of his skill sets, what he does bring to the team from a receiving standpoint, so there are a lot of things that you can do to be creative and use his skill set in the pass game," new tight ends coach Kevin Koger said. "But with him and the way we're going to run the ball and the athleticism he does have, there are a lot of things he can do in the run game to help us out to win football games." It sounds like Pitts is going to be moved around a lot, and the new coaching staff should be able to use him more effectively than Arthur Smith did in his three years with Pitts on the team.

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts suffered a PCL injury beyond the MCL repair in his right knee, which ended his 2022 season. Pitts said his knee is feeling better and he considers it a success that he was able to play all 17 games in 2023. He was targeted 90 times and had 53 catches for 667 yards and a career-high three touchdowns. He had four games over 50-plus receiving yards and five games with under 30 yards. It was far from his rookie season, when he had 68 catches for 1,026 yards and a touchdown, but considering his major knee injury the year prior, it wasn't all that bad. Heading into his fourth NFL campaign, he'll have a new head coach, which could mean a different role entirely. Depending on who the Falcons bring in, Pitts could end up being a sneaky value target at the tight end position in 2024 fantasy drafts.

Jan 10 7:30pm ET

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts wrote on his Instagram account that he had surgery on both the MCL and PCL in his knee after getting hurt in Week 11 of the 2022 season. It was previously reported that he had only torn his MCL. Pitts had a career-high three touchdowns in 17 games in his third year in the league in 2023, but overall it was another disappointing campaign for the former first-rounder with 53 receptions on 90 targets for 667 yards. PCL injuries are more complex and have a slower recovery time, so it's possible that Pitts was playing at less than 100 percent for a big chunk of this past season. If the 23-year-old is fully healthy in 2024 with a new head coach that can utilize him more than Arthur Smith did, he could be a fantastic value pick at the tight end position in fall fantasy drafts.

Jan 7 10:00pm ET

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts struggled during Sunday's game, which is a fitting way to end his 2023 campaign. It was somehow a more productive season for Pitts, but didn't really feel like that. On Sunday, Pitts hauled in two of his three targets for 27 yards in the Week 18 loss to the New Orleans Saints. He finished the season with 53 catches on 90 targets for 667 yards and three touchdowns. Pitts has a ton of skill, but has been unable to reach his full potential. It's unclear if the Falcons plan to keep head coach Arthur Smith around for another season. If they do, fantasy managers shouldn't bother putting Pitts in the TE1 discussion next season.

Jan 5 10:40am ET

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts has been playing better over the last month or so. In fact, Pitts has 49 receiving yards or more during three of his last five games. The young tight end is coming off a dud, but is hopeful to rebound against the New Orleans Saints. The biggest problem is that the Falcons don't have a reliable option at quarterback right now. The expectation is that the team will use a run-heavy approach in Week 18. That being said, Pitts is more a touchdown-dependent option for this game.

From RotoBaller

Dec 31 9:00pm ET

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts was unable to make much of an impact during Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears. The young tight end was held to one catch on five targets for five yards. Pitts certainly deserves some of the blame, but he'd be having a much better season with an upgrade at quarterback. Taylor Heinicke was awful during this game and didn't give Pitts many chances to actually catch his passes. Pitts will barely be on the fantasy radar for next week's matchup against the New Orleans Saints.

From RotoBaller

Dec 29 10:10am ET

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts has scored a touchdown in two of his last three games. Pitts has been more involved in the offense over the last few weeks. However, Pitts still doesn't have a ton of value with three receptions per game in each of his last three games. The Falcons are a run-heavy team, so Pitts isn't going to likely ever see a ton of action in the passing game. He should be able to have some success versus the Chicago Bears in Week 17. A defense that has allowed a league-average six touchdowns to opposing tight ends this season. He should be in the TE2 conversation for this upcoming matchup.

Dec 24 5:00pm ET

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts was able to find the end zone during Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts. The young tight end hauled in three of his four targets for 49 yards and a score in the win. The biggest play of the day for Pitts came in the first quarter when he hauled in a 24-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Taylor Heinicke. After that, Pitts didn't have many explosive plays, but fantasy managers will take the touchdown. Pitts should be able to carve out TE2 value for the Week 17 matchup against the Chicago Bears.

Dec 21 7:20pm ET

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts has topped 50 receiving yards in two of his last three games. The young tight end has been more involved in the offense over the last few weeks. Last week, Pitts hauled in three of his four targets for 37 yards in the loss to the Carolina Panthers. Pitts should be able to have some success against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 16. A defense that is league-average when it comes to defending the tight end However, the Falcons offense is tough to trust on a weekly basis. Pitts should be considered a TE2 for this weekend's slate.

Dec 17 10:10pm ET

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts has seen more involvement in the offense over the last few weeks. On Sunday, Pitts hauled in three of his four targets for 37 yards in the loss to the Carolina Panthers. Somehow, Pitts led his team in both receptions and targets during this game. That goes to show how bad the Falcons passing attack is right now. It's nice to see Pitts getting a little more attention in the receiving game. However, he shouldn't be treated as anything more than a high-end TE2 for next week's game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Dec 15 10:20am ET

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts was able to find the end zone during last week's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The young tight end hauled in three of his six targets for 57 yards and a score in the defeat. This marks back-to-back games that Pitts has gone over 50 receiving yards. Pitts has been more involved in the offense since the Falcons coaching staff claimed he was an important part of the offense. It appears now that the team is trying to get him more involved in the gameplan. He still doesn't have great appeal, but is worth a look as a TE2 versus the Carolina Panthers in Week 15.

Dynasty | Kyle Pitts scored his second touchdown of 2023 in the Falcons week-13 loss to the Buccaneers. Dynasty Analysis: The 36-yard touchdown came on a broken coverage play but, at this juncture with Pitts, we'll take it. He finished the day with 57 yards and the touchdown on 3-of-6 receiving. If there's a silver lining to another disappointing season for the third-year tight end, it's in the fact this targets (74) remain elevated and have been improving over his past two games, 14 over that span. Projecting beyond 2023, however, more uncertainty will come at the hands of yet another quarterback change and, quite possibly, coaching turnover as well. Now listed as DLF's TE5, the once super-hyped rookie is now seen as a premium laden potential-upside veteran.

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts was able to make the most of his chances during Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The young tight end hauled in three of his six targets for 57 yards and a touchdown in the loss. Pitts saw the third-most targets in this game, but finished second in receiving yards. This is now back-to-back 50-plus yard games from Pitts. However, fantasy managers shouldn't get too comfortable with these types of games. He should remain on the TE2 radar for the Week 15 matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

Dec 8 10:40am ET

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts was able to surpass 50 receiving yards last week for the second time in his last four games. The organization claims that Pitts is an important part of the offense, but his usage has been shaky all season long. Luckily, he does head into a favorable matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 14. A defensive unit that is league-average when it comes to defending tight ends. The Falcons could have a tough time running the ball, so possibly they go with more short passes which could be favorable to Pitts. Fantasy managers should consider Pitts a TE2 for this Week 14 matchup.

From RotoBaller

Dec 3 8:00pm ET

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts was probably the only player on this offense to have success on Sunday. The young tight end hauled in four of his eight targets for 51 yards in the win over the New York Jets. The Falcons recently said that Pitts was an important piece of this offense despite his lack of success. It looks like they attempted to get him the ball more this week and it worked out. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect a 50-yard performance on a weekly basis. Pitts should remain in the TE2 conversation for next week's matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

From RotoBaller

Nov 30 6:10pm ET

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts hasn't been much of a factor in the offense over the last few weeks. In fact, Pitts only has 52 yards combined over the last two games. Despite that, Falcons head coach Arthur Smith claims Pitts is an important piece of this offense. Maybe, the Falcons will get Pitts more involved this week after Smith said that. However, fantasy managers shouldn't believe in Pitts as anything more than a low-end TE2 in fantasy formats. The Falcons will likely continue to go with their run-heavy approach versus the New York Jets in Week 13.

From RotoBaller

Nov 29 12:10pm ET

Atlanta Falcons head coach Arthur Smith said that Kyle Pitts is "a big part of the offense" going forward. That's news to us, as Pitts continues to be a first-round bust in real life and in fantasy in 2023. The 23-year-old former fourth overall pick in 2021 has caught more than five passes in a game just once this year, has only one touchdown (in Week 6) and has gone over 50 receiving yards just twice. In the last five games, Pitts has 15 receptions on 22 targets for 190 yards and no scores. Perhaps Atlanta looks to get him more involved down the stretch in certain matchups, but it's become clear that he's become more of a high-end TE2 in fantasy in the Falcons' run-first, ball-control offense. The Falcons figure to stick to the ground more often than not in a tough Week 13 matchup on the road against the New York Jets, too.

Dynasty | Kyle Pitts produced 22 yards on 2-of-2 receiving in week 12. Dynasty Analysis: What to do with Pitts is going to be an interesting offseason discussion topic. Clearly the player hasn't lived up to the nosebleed expectations heaped upon him as he was drafted fourth-overall in 2021. Is it the player? Is it the quarterback situation? Is it the scheme? Could Pitts' struggles impact the value and expectations of income rookie (Georgia) phenom Brock Bowers? Heading into 2024, expect a push-pull between those who believe brighter days are ahead for the athletically gifted tight end juxtaposed by those who have grown tired of waiting. He's found as DLF's TE5.

From Dynasty League Fantasy

Nov 26 9:30pm ET

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts continued his quiet campaign during Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints. The young tight end hauled in both of his targets for 22 yards in the win. Pitts has only surpassed three receptions once over his last five games. To be fair, the Falcons rushed the ball over 40 times this week, so it was tough for any of the pass catchers to have much value. Although, Pitts has been a non-factor in this offense for a long time now. He should be considered a low-end TE2 for next week's matchup against the New York Jets.
