Dynasty | Browns running back D'Onta Foreman had 42 yards on 14 carries in Cleveland's win over Jacksonville. Dynasty Analysis: More importantly, Foreman's 15 touches (he had one catch for nine yards) were more than the eight of Jerome Ford. Quite honestly, neither running back was very impressive on the day and the fact both were used this much may indeed make them unplayable going forward as the Cleveland offense has looked pretty inept so far this season. We'll continue to monitor the situation but neither back is going to be a recommended play until one or the other truly emerges.

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford carried the ball seven times for 64 yards and caught one pass for no gain in an 18-13 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2. Ford ripped off a 36-yard run on fourth-and-one in the second quarter, setting the Browns up for a 38-yard field goal. Besides that big play, however, Ford was quiet as he lost work to D'Onta Foreman (14 carries) and Pierre Strong Jr. (two touches). Foreman's usage is a concerning development for fantasy managers rostering Ford after he handled all but four of the running-back touches back in Week 1. Ford is looking like more of an RB3/flex option heading into Week 3 against the New York Giants.

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford turned in a solid outing in a Week 1 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, catching six passes for 25 yards and rushing for 44 yards and a touchdown. He will look to keep it going in a Week 2 road matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jacksonville allowed the 13th-most fantasy points per game to opposing running backs in 2023 and allowed De'Von Achane to run for a touchdown while catching seven passes for 76 yards in Week 1 this season. Ford saw all but four running-back touches last week and should be in for another heavy workload against the Jags, leaving him as a solid RB2 in PPR leagues this weekend.

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford carried the ball 12 times for 44 yards and a touchdown while adding six catches for 25 yards in a 33-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1. Ford's final stat line will be useful in fantasy, but the third-year back benefitted greatly from garbage time. Most of his production in the passing game came after the game was out of hand and his two-yard touchdown run came with the Browns down 23 points with just 29 seconds left on the clock. On the bright side, Ford saw most of the backfield touches for Cleveland, which should continue for as long as Nick Chubb (knee) is on the PUP list. Treat Ford as an RB2 in PPR fantasy leagues going forward.

Sep 6 9:20pm ET

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford will open the season as the team's starter after Nick Chubb (knee) was placed on the PUP list. Ford draws a tough Week 1 matchup as he will take on the Dallas Cowboys on the road to kick off the 2024 season. The Cowboys were stout against the run in 2023, allowing just the 22nd-most fantasy points per game to running backs. Ford was very average as a rusher last season but he did show skill in the passing attack, hauling in five touchdown grabs on 44 catches. He should be busy in the passing game against an explosive Dallas offense this week, making him a solid flex option for fantasy gamers.

Dynasty | Browns running back Nick Chubb will start the season on the PUP list. Dynasty Analysis: Chubb will miss at least the first four games of the 2024 season as a result. This is hardly a surprise after his awful knee injury during week two last year. Chubb's rehab is apparently ahead of schedule but he won't be ready until October at the earliest. Jerome Ford looks like the early season winner in the backfield but Chubb will be poised to take over upon his return. Chubb remains a possible buy low for a contender even with this news.

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford carried the ball three times for 11 yards in his team's 37-33 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in the preseason finale on Saturday. Ford got the start and played with the rest of the offensive starters on the Browns' first two drives of the game before calling it a night. The veteran running back appears slated for a feature role in the Cleveland offense this season, especially with Nick Chubb (knee) unlikely to be ready to return from a knee injury in time for Week 1. Ford showed chops in the passing game and a nose for the end zone in 2023 and can be trusted as an RB3 in fantasy drafts as he should have a role in the offense even when Chubb does return.

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford saw limited action in his team's 23-10 loss to the Green Bay Packers in the preseason opener on Saturday. Ford played on just the team's first offensive drive, carrying the ball twice for four yards before calling it a day. With Nick Chubb's status for Week 1 in question, Ford could be slated for a prominent role in the Cleveland offense, especially in the early going, making him a decent value for fantasy managers who wait on the running back position in drafts.

Jul 27 1:40pm ET

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford (personal) remained absent from training camp practice on Friday due to personal reasons. "He won't be here today, but he'll be here shortly. He's got some great news to share with you," head coach Kevin Stefanski said. It sounds like Ford has a new addition to the family. The fourth-year pro is projected to be a starter to open the 2024 regular season, as long as RB Nick Chubb (knee) is recovering from a gruesome torn ACL, MCL and meniscus last year. Chubb is a candidate to open the year on the Physically Unable to Perform list, which would keep him sidelined for at least the first four weeks. Ford's fantasy value as an RB3/flex will be fluid this summer as we track the progress of Chubb.

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford (personal) reportedly missed practice on Thursday due to a personal matter. Patrick Warren of clevelandbrowns.com reports that Ford is expected back at practice on Friday as he only needed to tend to the matter on Thursday. The 24-year-old projects to be the starter with Nick Chubb (knee) still on the PUP list and recovering from his gruesome injury last season. The good news for fantasy managers is this is just a temporary absence and Ford should be back on the field taking first-team snaps.

Jul 23 9:10am ET

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford enters 2024 with a chance to sit atop the depth chart, but his exact role will depend on the status of Nick Chubb (knee) and Nyheim Hines (knee), according to Zac Jackson of The Athletic. Both injured running backs are recovering from ACL tears, with Chubb working his way back from a gruesome knee injury sustained during a carry near the goal line last season and Hines dealing with the effects of a terrible jet ski accident last summer. Jackson notes that Ford could open the year as the Browns' No. 1 running back if he has a strong training camp and Chubb isn't cleared by Week 1; as of now, a Week 1 return would seem unlikely for Chubb, who also tore his MCL and meniscus on the same play. On the other hand, if Chubb progresses faster than expected, Ford could find himself competing for the backup role with the likes of Hines and D'Onta Foreman. This lack of clarity poses a challenge for fantasy managers trying to finalize their draft strategy. However, given the severity of Chubb's injury, it seems unlikely that he'll play in the season opener, and even if he does, he'll probably have a reduced role. Therefore, Ford should have enough early-season volume to make him a solid RB3/FLEX option for the first few weeks of the campaign (and perhaps even after Chubb returns). His ADP of 115 gives him a 10th-round price tag and slots him in as the 38th running back off the board in redraft leagues.

May 1 4:40pm ET

In a media availability this week, Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski spoke on the team's current running back situation. "I think Jerome [Ford] has done a nice job. He had some really, really, really big moments for our football team and he made big plays for us when we needed it." Stefanski said. "So, excited about that." The Cleveland Browns appear to have a crowded running back room heading into 2024, as Nick Chubb (knee), Ford, and D'Onta Foreman have all had their moments over the last two seasons. Of course, Chubb is recovering from a major knee injury that he suffered in Week 2 of last season, so he could be eased into action to begin the new campaign. "With Nick [Chubb], obviously, we'll continue to let him rehab, and when he's ready and the doctors tell me he's ready, he goes." Stefanski said," Until then, we like the guys we have." There will be plenty of updates on this situation as we inch closer to fantasy football season, but for now, his comments regarding Ford are promising. The Cincinnati product rushed 204 times for 813 yards and four touchdowns last year to go along with 44 receptions for 319 yards and five scores. Regardless of Chubb's status, Ford should at least be involved in the receiving game in his third NFL season.
