2024 RTSports Outlook

There was some concern that Lockett would have a down season last year without Russell Wilson throwing him passes. Well, that didn't happen. In fact, his numbers were as good as ever with Geno Smith as his quarterback. Lockett was 13th overall in fantasy receiver scoring. He hit the 1,000-yard mark for the fourth straight season. He also caught 11 more passes than the previous season (84). Lockett has a track record of being a little hit or miss, but that wasn't really the case last year. He had double-digit fantasy points all but three games. Lockett has been a top-20 fantasy receiver each of the past five seasons. He will continue to play a big role in the Seahawks passing game. Lockett isn't the biggest receiver but runs great routes and makes plays with the ball in his hands. He can turn a short pass into a big play. He also can do well when getting a chance to run the ball. Fantasy Outlook:   Lockett is a steady fantasy option that will have some big games along the way. He should be top 20 once again, being a rock solid No. 2 for fantasy teams. He can get around 80 receptions for 1,100 yards and nine touchdowns.

The Seattle Seahawks and wide receiver Tyler Lockett agreed on a two-year, $30 million restructured contract on Saturday. The deal includes a maximum value of $34 million, including $13 million guaranteed this year. The restructured deal gives the Seahawks extra cap space with NFL free agency officially beginning on Wednesday. The 31-year-old caught 79 passes for 894 yards and five touchdowns across 17 games in 2023, his lowest yardage output since 2017. Lockett will remain Seattle's No. 2 wideout behind superstar DK Metcalf and compete for targets with first-round pick Jaxon Smith-Njigba. The veteran wideout is a boom-or-bust fantasy option and a better best-ball pick than standard PPR formats. Lockett is a fantasy WR3 heading into early best-ball drafts in 2024.

Seattle Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett agreed to a restructured deal worth $30 million over two years with nearly $13 million guaranteed for 2024 season, according to a source.

Fantasy Spin: After four straight seasons with 1,000-plus yards and at least eight touchdowns, Lockett's numbers dipped in 2023. With Jaxon Smith-Njigba primed for a bigger role, staying in Seattle makes a rebound season for Lockett seem unlikely.

From TheHuddle

Feb 20 12:20pm ET

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett could be a salary cap casualty this offseason. He's 31 years old and will carry a $27.8 million cap hit while coming off a sub-1,000-yard season in 2023. Lockett has been in his nine years in Seattle, but ESPN's Jeremy Fowler said it might be a tough dynamic to overcome in 2024. Lockett had 79 receptions on 122 targets for 894 yards and five touchdowns in 17 starts in 2023, but his yardage total was his lowest since his third year in the league in 2017. His contract also has an out clause in it for the 2024 season, so if it looks like he may not be back, he could exercise it and test the free-agent market. If Lockett were to leave, it would be great news for second-year wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba, as he would become the No. 2 behind DK Metcalf.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett saw four targets in Week 18, catching two passes for 71 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's 21-20 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. Late-game heroics were once again necessary to give the Seahawks the win and this time it was Lockett's turn to be the star. At the two-minute warning quarterback Geno Smith dropped a 34-yard pass over Lockett's shoulder just as he made it to the end zone to bring the Seahawks within a point of Cardinals. Lockett was also on the receiving end of Smith's throw to secure the ensuing two-point conversion which put Seattle ahead and eventually gave them the win. Lockett appeared in all 17 Seahawks games in 2023 and finishes the season with 79 catches for 894 yards and five touchdowns. The nine-year veteran has spent his entire career in a Seahawks uniform. While he does have outs in his contract, it would be a surprise to see him playing anywhere but Seattle in 2024.

Jan 6 6:00am ET

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett (toe) is healthy and ready to play in Week 18. The nine-year veteran popped up on the team's injury report on Thursday with a sore toe but he was still able to practice in full and has no designation heading into the last game of the regular season. The Seahawks are on the bubble for a playoff berth and will be in a must-win situation on Sunday when they play the Arizona Cardinals. Arizona's defense has been extremely generous to opposing running backs this season, to the detriment of wide receiver production. In the teams' last meeting, Lockett caught four of his five targets for 38 yards. While he has had some big games this year his price tag is still too high to make him worth the gamble in DFS and players would be better served looking further down for greater odds at a bigger hit.

From RotoBaller

Jan 5 8:23pm ET

Seattle Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett (toe) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 5, and is not on the injury report for Week 18.

Fantasy Spin: Lockett should see a decent amount of targets this week against the Arizona Cardinals and can be at least a flex option in most fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Jan 4 8:10pm ET

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett (toe) was added to the Week 18 injury report on Thursday but he managed to practice in full. It's something worth watching, but it doesn't appear to be anything that will compromise Lockett from playing in a must-win Week 18 regular season meeting with the Arizona Cardinals. The 31-year-old hasn't really had any true breakthrough games this year, and the presence of rookie first-rounder Jaxon Smith-Njigba is the reason why. Still, he should be able to bounce back in an excellent matchup from his one-catch outing in the Week 17 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in a game the Seahawks need to win. Lockett will be a boom/bust DFS option with a low ceiling this weekend. He has been held under 25 yards in two of his last four games.

Seattle Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett (toe) fully participated in practice Thursday, Jan. 4.

Fantasy Spin: Lockett is coming off a disappointing Week 17 performance but should still see a decent amount of targets in the passing game this week. He can be at least a flex option in most fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Jan 1 6:50am ET

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett's 2023 season has been a boom-bust cycle to the consternation of any fantasy manager who drafted him. Week 17 was another bust for the ninth-year veteran as he logged just one catch on five targets for 10 receiving yards. The catch did come at a critical point, amidst a comeback effort that ended up being Seattle's final possession. It is worth noting that the other targets that went Lockett's way were either heavily contested or well out of reach. With one game left on the Seahawks' schedule, the 31-year-old wideout has 823 receiving yards and will see his four-year streak of 1,000-yard seasons come to an end. For fantasy managers playing on through Week 18, Lockett will be hard to trust when Seattle wraps up their season against the Arizona Cardinals.

From TheHuddle

Dec 30 6:20am ET

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett has not scored a touchdown since Week 10 but led the team in targets, receptions, and yards against the Tennessee Titans in Week 16. In that contest, he caught 8 of his 11 targets for 81 yards, a nice rebound after his three-catch, 21-yard performance in the game before. Lockett's performances have been inconsistent this season but he seeing plenty of opportunities, averaging 7.5 targets per game and accounting for 33.1% of Seattle's air yards this season. DK Metcalf (back) is questionable for Sunday's matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, which could put Lockett in line for another big day. The Steelers will be missing starting safety Minkah Fitzpatrick (knee), further benefitting Lockett's chances at a good return. In PPR leagues, Lockett will be a WR3 with upside in Week 17.

From RotoBaller

Dec 27 8:43pm ET

Seattle Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett (non-injury) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 27.

Fantasy Spin: Lockett was targeted a season-high 11 times in the last game and has been targeted at least eight times in three of the last four games. He should receive a similar workload this week and should be a starting option in most leagues.

From TheHuddle

Dec 24 8:40pm ET

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett led the team in receptions, targets, and yards in Week 16, catching eight of his 11 looks for 81 yards. The ninth-year veteran went without a touchdown for the sixth week in a row but caught five passes for first downs, including three on Seattle's game-winning drive at the end of the fourth quarter. Sunday's performance was a relief for managers who stuck with him in the fantasy semifinal round in what has been a boom-or-bust season. Even though the production has not always been there, Lockett sees plenty of work week-to-week, placing first or second on the team in targets in every game this season. In Week 17, he will be a PPR flex play against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

From TheHuddle

Dec 23 5:10am ET

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett disappointed in Week 15, catching just three passes for 21 yards despite drawing a team-leading nine targets. Compounding the unfortunate performance was that it came against the Philadelphia Eagles' bottom-tier pass defense. In Week 16, Lockett has another chance to take advantage of a generous secondary when Seattle faces the Tennessee Titans. The Titans have allowed the second-highest catch rate and second-most receptions to wide receivers this season, which may give Lockett a better shot at making good at the opportunities that come his way on Sunday. Also favoring Lockett's odds at a rebound game is the return of quarterback Geno Smith (groin) who missed the last two weeks due to injury. Lockett has had a down year, but can still be looked at as a WR3/flex option in PPR leagues in Week 16.

From RotoBaller

Dec 19 5:30am ET

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett led the team with nine targets in Monday's 20-17 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. His 28% target share on the night resulted in just three catches for 21 yards, however. It was a disappointing turnout considering that coming into Week 15 the Eagles were allowing the most fantasy points per game to wide receivers and were missing their top cornerback Darius Slay (knee). Lockett started out 2-for-2 in the first quarter but was not targeted again until late in the third when he had his defender beat but was badly overthrown. The 31-year-old drew four targets during the Seahawks' game-winning two-minute drill but came up empty-handed on each attempt directed his way. Lockett has a potential rebound game in Week 16 when the Seahawks face the Tennessee Titans, especially if quarterback Geno Smith (groin) is cleared to return to his starting role.

From TheHuddle

Dec 17 5:30am ET

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett caught all six of his targets for 89 yards in last week's loss to the San Francisco 49ers, making it his most productive game since Week 10. On Monday night, Lockett will have the benefit of facing one of the league's softest secondaries when Seattle takes on the Philadelphia Eagles, who will be without cornerback Darius Slay (knee) while he recuperates after undergoing arthroscopic surgery. The Seahawks are likely to run a pass-heavy offense to keep things close, making Lockett's outlook even rosier. Seattle's starting quarterback is yet to be determined, but considering his performance with Drew Lock under center last week, Lockett can still provide a safe floor as a high-end WR3 in Week 15.

From RotoBaller

Dec 11 2:50am ET

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett led the team in receptions and receiving yards in Sunday's loss to the San Francisco 49ers. The ninth-year veteran caught all six of his targets for 89 receiving yards, his highest total since Week 10. Concerns that quarterback Geno Smith (groin) would cede a start to backup Drew Lock came true, but it did not hamper Lockett who outdid his three-catch, 30-yard performance against the Niners two weeks ago. Lockett has not provided many boom weeks for fantasy managers in 2023, but he provides a safe floor in PPR leagues. Next week the Seahawks play the Philadelphia Eagles who have allowed the most receptions and touchdowns to opposing wide receivers in the league, making Lockett a viable option even if Lock draws another start.
