The New York Jets signed free-agent running back Thomas Rawls to an undisclosed deal Friday. He totaled 1,336 yards and seven touchdowns on 314 carries (4.3 yards per carry) in three years with the Seahawks, although his last two years were mainly marred by injuries. He broke out in his rookie year with Marshawn Lynch injured but broke his fibula in 2016 and missed four games in 2017. Even if healthy, Rawls isn't a lock to make the roster, and even if he does, he'll be third on the running back depth chart, at best, behind Isaiah Crowell and Bilal Powell.

Mar 29 10:29pm ET

Free-agent running back Thomas Rawls is visiting with the New York Jets on Thursday, according to a source. Rawls had 830 yards (5.6 yards per carry) on 147 attempts his rookie year in Seattle, but injuries have plagued him the last two seasons, as he's missed 11 games in the last two years. With Isaiah Crowell added to Gang Green's backfield along with Bilal Powell and Elijah McGuire, Rawls would strictly be running back depth in New York and wouldn't have any fantasy intrigue. He'll need to rehabilitate his image in the NFL by staying healthy.

Free-agent RB Thomas Rawls (Seahawks) is scheduled to meet with the New York Jets Friday, March 28, according to a source.

Mar 16 1:40pm ET

Free-agent running back Thomas Rawls is visiting with the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday, according to a source. Rawls had a promising rookie year in 2015 with 147 carries for 830 yards (5.6 yards per carry) and four touchdowns for Seattle, but an ankle injury later that year has doomed him since. He has been running behind an atrocious offensive line the last several seasons, but he also just hasn't been able to stay healthy. The Chiefs could offer him another shot, but he'd likely be buried on the depth chart if he makes the team.

Free-agent RB Thomas Rawls (Seahawks) is visiting the Kansas City Chiefs Friday, March 16.

Mar 14 5:13pm ET

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls was not tendered or did not receive a qualifying offer on Wednesday, March 14, so he is now an unrestricted free agent.

Dec 17 3:20pm ET

Seattle Seahawks running back Thomas Rawls is a healthy inactive in Week 15 against the Rams. Rawls is well off the fantasy map now that Mike Davis has essentially taken the lead in the backfield. The fact that Rawls can't even see the field over an ineffective Eddie Lacy tells you all you need to know about his fantasy value. This is rock bottom for Rawls, and he should be on the waiver wire in all leagues.

Dec 17 2:53pm ET

The Seattle Seahawks have declared WR David Moore, DL Garrison Smith, C Joey Hunt, LB K.J. Wright, CB Mike Tyson, DT Nazair Jones, RB Thomas Rawls inactive for Week 15.

Nov 23 12:30pm ET

Seattle Seahawks offensive line coach Tom Cable thinks running back Thomas Rawls, who was a healthy scratch in Week 11, is trying too hard. "Don't try so damn hard," he said. "When guys are trying to make a statement, they overstep on the gas. Just relax and play ball," Cable said. Quarterback Russell Wilson continues to be the team's leading rusher on a weekly basis, and the Seahawks backfield has been one to avoid for fantasy purposes. Even though Rawls will likely receive another chance in Week 12 with Mike Davis (groin) injured, he's still unattractive as a weak RB3/flex option. J.D. McKissic has become the most intriguing stash in PPR leagues.

Nov 20 7:20pm ET

Seattle Seahawks running back Thomas Rawls and strong safety Kam Chancellor (neck) are ruled out for Week 11 against the Falcons on Monday night. Rawls is a surprise healthy inactive now that Eddie Lacy (groin) is back in action, and it reminds fantasy owners that there is little fantasy value left for Rawls. Lacy should lead this backfield in touches but is more of an RB3/flex behind Seattle's shaky offensive line. Chancellor's absence along with cornerback Richard Sherman's (Achilles) season-ending injury is a big blow to Seattle's secondary, although they will get free safety Earl Thomas (hamstring) back. Seattle's weakened secondary makes Matt Ryan's outlook less bleak on the road in Seattle.

Nov 20 7:13pm ET

The Seattle Seahawks have declared DL Garrison Smith, DL Jarran Reed, SS Kam Chancellor, OT Luke Joeckel, LB Michael Wilhoite, DL Quinton Jefferson, RB Thomas Rawls inactive for Week 11.

Nov 20 7:13pm ET

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls has been declared inactive for the team's Week 11 game.

Nov 11 1:10pm ET

Seattle Seahawks running back Thomas Rawls was the team's leading rusher on Thursday night against the Cardinals, but not because he was good. Rawls finished the night with 27 yards on 10 carries, and he had no touchdowns. Rawls has now led the team in carries for a couple weeks straight and appears to be the main guy in the backfield, but the combination of a bad run-blocking line and his own limitations means he's basically been nothing while he's back there. Rawls has yet to top 40 yards in a game this season, he's yet to score a touchdown, and he's yet to provide a reason for him to be owned in any leagues.

Nov 10 10:43am ET

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls played 29 snaps (46 percent of the offense) Thursday, Nov. 9, against the Arizona Cardinals.

Nov 10 2:13am ET

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls gained 27 yards on 10 carries in Seattle's Week 10 win over the Arizona Cardinals. Rawls added two catches for 12 yards.

Nov 7 7:50pm ET

Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said that "Thomas Rawls is going to be our guy" in Week 10 against the Cardinals on Thursday. It's no surprise given the fact that Eddie Lacy (groin) injured himself early in Week 9 and faces an uphill battle to be ready on a short week. Rawls filled in when Lacy went down last weekend and had nine carries for a season-high 39 yards. He'll also be splitting time with J.D. McKissic and C.J. Prosise, but Rawls should get most of the work. Still, in a tough matchup against Arizona, Rawls is more of a low-end RB2 option. It hurts that Seattle's O-line has been bad again in 2017. Rawls is a waiver wire option for the RB-needy.

Nov 7 7:23pm ET

Seattle Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy (groin) is not expected to play in Week 10 due to his groin injury. RB Thomas Rawls will start in his place.

Nov 6 9:50pm ET

While the Seattle Seahawks run game was still poor overall, running back Thomas Rawls finally showed up and produced a little yardage. Rawls would finish the day with nine carries for 39 yards, and at moments, he almost looked like a competent running back again. That said, his biggest gainer of the day was on a pass play where he rambled for 22 yards out of the backfield, and the best runner by far was still Russell Wilson. He's still not ownable, but maybe that can change over the next couple of weeks.

Nov 5 11:53pm ET

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls picked up 39 rushing yards on nine attempts in Week 9 against the Washington Redskins and he added two receptions for 31 yards.
