Arizona Cardinals RB Kenyan Drake played 51 offensive snaps to 15 for David Johnson and zero for Chase Edmonds Sunday, Dec. 1, against the Los Angeles Rams.
Fantasy Spin: Drake has struggled to accomplish much since his Week 9 debut with the Cardinals, but he is receiving the lion's share of the work out of the backfield. He'll need to have a couple more big games before fantasy managers can trust him heading into the 2020 season.
Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds (hamstring) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 29, and is not on the injury report for Week 13.
Fantasy Spin: Edmonds is expected to be in uniform this week, but his role is uncertain with Kenyan Drake and David Johnson also healthy. He could be a flex option in some leagues, but fantasy players may want to see him play in a game before considering an option for their lineups.
Arizona Cardinals running back Chase Edmonds (hamstring) practiced in full the last two days and has been taken off the final injury report for Week 13 against the Rams. It will be his first game action since Oct. 27 against the Saints. While Edmonds could see some work, he'll be sharing touches with Kenyan Drake and the hobbled David Johnson in his return. There just isn't much of a case to be made to start Edmonds in fantasy lineups in what could be a three-headed attack this Sunday. His return is a downgrade to both Drake and Johnson as well.
Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (hamstring) and DL Jonathan Bullard (foot) practiced in full Friday, Nov. 29, but are listed as questionable for Week 13 versus the Los Angeles Rams. LB Terrell Suggs (non-injury) did not practice Friday but has been removed from the injury report. RB Chase Edmonds (hamstring), WR Larry Fitzgerald (non-injury), OL Lamont Gaillard (thumb), LB Chandler Jones (non-injury) and DL Corey Peters (non-injury) fully practiced Friday and also no longer appear on the injury report.
Arizona Cardinals running back Chase Edmonds (hamstring) returned to a full practice on Thursday after being limited on Wednesday. Edmonds is on track to play in Week 13 against the Rams. With David Johnson still hobbled and playing second fiddle to the effective Kenyan Drake in this backfield, Edmonds could be the backup against LA this Sunday. Edmonds could be used in the passing game and could steal some valuable touches from Drake, but it's hard to argue that he'll have any standalone fantasy value in his first game back.
Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds (hamstring) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Nov. 28, after being limited Wednesday.
Fantasy Spin: Edmonds hasn't played since rushing for just eight yards on seven carries in Week 8. Kenyan Drake was the leader of the Cardinals' backfield in Week 11 and David Johnson should factor in more this week. Edmonds is likely to be the odd man out.
Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds (hamstring) was limited during practice Wednesday, Nov. 27.
Fantasy Spin: Edmonds appears to have a good chance to return to the lineup but may be behind David Johnson and Kenyan Drake in terms of touches. Fantasy players likely will be able to find better options and can keep Edmonds on the bench.
Arizona Cardinals running back Chase Edmonds (hamstring) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. Edmonds is on track to return for the first time since Oct. 27 against the Saints. However, Kenyan Drake remains the team's lead back with David Johnson battling injuries. Edmonds could be the No. 2 in the backfield this weekend against the Rams, but he still wouldn't carry much appeal as an RB3/flex as long as Drake continues to impress since joining the team.
Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds (hamstring) is expected to return in Week 13 against the Los Angeles Rams, according to head coach Kliff Kingsbury.
Fantasy Spin: Much has changed since last we saw Edmonds on the field, most notably the acquisition of Kenyan Drake, who has seemingly become the top back in Arizona. Add in the uncertainty surrounding David Johnson's shrinking role and this becomes a very interesting situation. Until we get some clarity I'd be hesitant to plug Edmonds into a fantasy lineup.
Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds (hamstring) returned to practice Monday, Nov. 25, for the first time since suffering a hamstring injury in Week 8 against the New Orleans Saints.
Fantasy Spin: Common sense would seem to dictate that Edmonds - assuming he is able to play this week - should slot in as the breather back for Kenyan Drake in Week 13 versus the Los Angeles Rams, but Arizona has pulled fantasy owners more than once this season with its backfield. Either way, if Edmonds works ahead of David Johnson, he has a chance to be a decent flex option moving forward.
Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds (hamstring) was held out of practice again Tuesday, Nov. 19.
Fantasy Spin: It was likely a light session with the upcoming bye week, suggesting Edmonds isn't anywhere close to a return. Kenyan Drake appears to have taken control of the backfield for now, but we'll see if David Johnson can use the time off to close the gap and earn back some touches.
Arizona Cardinals running back Chase Edmonds (hamstring) was not seen at the portion of practice open to the media on Tuesday. The Cardinals are going on their bye in Week 12, so Edmonds will have another week to rest up. He's been out since Oct. 27 against the Saints. In the meantime, the Cardinals signed Kenyan Drake, and he has now leaped an injured David Johnson on the running back depth chart. Edmonds could get some run in Week 13 if he's ready and DJ is still slowed by his injuries, but Edmonds is still unlikely to have any standalone value the rest of the way. He can be left to the waiver wire in most leagues.
The Arizona Cardinals have declared RB Chase Edmonds, CB Tramaine Brock, DL Jonathan Bullard, C Lamont Gaillard, WR Damiere Byrd, OT Joshua Miles and RB Zach Zenner inactive for Week 11.
Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds (hamstring) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 15, and has been ruled out for Week 11.
Fantasy Spin: Kenyan Drake will have a role in the offense with Edmonds sidelined. He has played well over the last two weeks since joining the Cardinals and should receive some touches this week. He will have a tough matchup but may be a flex option in some deeper leagues.
Arizona Cardinals running back Chase Edmonds (hamstring) will not play in Week 11 against the 49ers, according to head coach Kliff Kingsbury. Edmonds was fantasy relevant weeks ago when David Johnson was hurt and before the team traded for Kenyan Drake. The Cardinals will go on their bye in Week 12, and Edmonds will return to find himself third on the running back depth chart. Unless one of Drake or Johnson get hurt, Edmonds should find himself on the waiver wire in most fantasy leagues.
Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds (hamstring) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 14.
Fantasy Spin: Edmonds was expected to miss a few weeks because of the injury, so likely will not play in Week 11. Kenyan Drake has played well since joining the Cardinals and may be a flex option in deeper leagues despite the matchup.
Arizona Cardinals running back Chase Edmonds (hamstring) missed practice for the second straight day this week on Thursday and is on track to miss another game in Week 11 against the 49ers. Edmonds had some fleeting RB2 appeal when David Johnson (ankle, back) was sidelined, but that opportunity has dried up after the team traded for Kenyan Drake. Drake could be the leader in the backfield going forward as long as Johnson struggles with multiple injuries. The Cardinals have their bye coming up in Week 12, so Edmonds is droppable in almost all leagues if you're still holding onto him.
Arizona Cardinals running back Chase Edmonds (hamstring) missed practice again on Wednesday and looks likely to miss another game in Week 11 against the 49ers. Edmonds had RB2 upside while filling in for the injured David Johnson for several weeks, but Edmonds is now injured himself and the Cardinals have Kenyan Drake as depth behind Johnson. As long as Johnson and Drake remain active, Edmonds will have a very small role whenever he returns from his injury. He can be dropped in most leagues now that Drake is in the fold and impressing the coaching staff.
Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds (hamstring) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 13.
Fantasy Spin: Edmonds probably will miss another game if he is not able to practice this week, so fantasy players should avoid him this week. Kenyan Drake could have a solid role in the offense and could be a flex option in some deeper leagues.
Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds (hamstring) has missed the past two games, and head coach Kliff Kingsbury said he is uncertain for Week 11 against the San Francisco 49ers. 'I would expect him hopefully in the near future,' Kingsbury said.
Fantasy Spin: Edmonds will return to the crowded backfield with Kenyan Drake and David Johnson both considered the top two backs. He had his chance to shine in New York when Johnson was hurt and Drake not yet on the team, but he was injured and will now return to a logjam with minimal fantasy appeal.
