Miami Dolphins RB Kalen Ballage (leg) is expected to be ready for offseason workouts, according to head coach Brian Flores.

From TheHuddle

Dec 3 5:20pm ET

The Miami Dolphins placed running back Kalen Ballage (leg) on season-ending Injured Reserve on Tuesday and claimed running back Zach Zenner off waivers from the Cardinals in a corresponding move. With Ballage now out for the final four games, it should be a combination of rookies Patrick Laird and Myles Gaskin in Miami's backfield the rest of the way, with Zenner merely providing depth. With the fantasy playoffs kicking off in Week 14 in most leagues, we wouldn't recommend relying on the Dolphins inexperience committee approach the rest of the way. Ballage had 74 carries for 135 yards (1.8 yards per carry) and three touchdowns in 12 games this year.

Miami Dolphins RB Kalen Ballage (leg) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Dec. 3. Free-agent RB Zach Zenner (Cardinals) was claimed off waivers to replace him on the roster.

From TheHuddle

Dec 1 2:30pm ET

Miami Dolphins running back Kalen Ballage (leg) was carted off the field with a leg injury in Week 13 against the Eagles. It had the looks of a potential season-ender, so brace for the worst if you own Ballage. Miami's lead running back had only three attempts and gained zero yards on the ground before his injury, and he wasn't targeted at all in the passing game. If Ballage misses any time to close out the season, it will likely be some combination of rookies Patrick Laird and Myles Gaskin in the Dolphins backfield. For an offense that is limited in its potential, fantasy owners won't be excited about a rookie timeshare.

From RotoBaller

Dec 1 2:23pm ET

Miami Dolphins RB Kalen Ballage (leg) suffered a leg injury during the Week 13 game and is considered questionable to return.

Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players will need to keep an eye on the situation to see how long Ballage may be sidelined. Patrick Laird likely would take over the starting job if Ballage misses time but probably would only be a possible flex option in deeper leagues.

From TheHuddle

Nov 29 4:23pm ET

Miami Dolphins RB Kalen Ballage (Achilles) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 29, and is not on the injury report for Week 13.

Fantasy Spin: Ballage has rushed for at least 20 yards in only one game this season and should be avoided in all fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Nov 29 3:23pm ET

Miami Dolphins CB Ken Crawley (shoulder) and DB Steven Parker (groin) were limited in practice all week and are listed as questionable for Week 13 against the Philadelphia Eagles. CB Ken Webster (ankle) was upgraded to a full practice Friday, Nov. 29, and is also listed as questionable. LB Jerome Baker (chest) was not given a practice designation for a second straight day Friday but is expected to play. RB Kalen Ballage (Achilles), DE Taco Charlton (elbow), QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (shoulder, forearm), WR Allen Hurns (ankle), CB Ryan Lewis (chest) and WR Albert Wilson (hip, chest) practiced in full Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Nov 28 7:13pm ET

Miami Dolphins RB Kalen Ballage (Achilles) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 28.

Fantasy Spin: Ballage has been receiving most of the carries for the Dolphins over the last several weeks but has posted disappointing numbers this season. He can be avoided in all fantasy leagues until he is more productive.

From TheHuddle

Nov 27 4:13pm ET

Miami Dolphins RB Kalen Ballage (Achilles) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Nov. 27.

Fantasy Spin: Ballage has not posted more than 45 yards in any game this season and should be avoided in fantasy leagues even though he may receive most of the carries in the running game.

From TheHuddle

Nov 25 10:43pm ET

Miami Dolphins RB Myles Gaskin was able to play 16 snaps in Week 12 against the Cleveland Browns, eight behind starter RB Kalen Ballage and seven behind RB Patrick Laird.

Fantasy Spin: Gaskin might have the most upside of the triumvirate, but Ballage was confirmed as the starter for Week 13 against the Philadelphia Eagles and Laird is also in the mix. For long-term dynasty formats Gaskin might have some appeal, but in redraft play he can mostly be avoided.

From TheHuddle

Nov 25 2:53pm ET

Miami Dolphins RB Kalen Ballage will remain the starting running back in Week 13 versus the Philadelphia Eagles, according to head coach Brian Flores.

Fantasy Spin: Miami is averaging 63.2 yards rushing, which is easily the worst in the league and on pace to be the worst season average since the 1946 Detroit Lions. Ballage has not cracked four yards per carry in any game this season and been held under 3.0 YPC in all but one contest. The Dolphins finally seem to be acknowledging his shortcomings, however, as he saw 24 snaps in Week 12 versus 23 for Patrick Laird and 16 for Myles Gaskin. They should all be avoided in Week 13 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

From TheHuddle

Nov 25 11:10am ET

Looking back, it's hard to believe that Miami Dolphins running back Kalen Ballage was being drafted ahead of former Dolphin starter Kenyan Drake coming into this season. Completely ineffective all year, things haven't improved since getting the backfield all to himself following the trade of Drake and the suspension of Mark Walton, who had supplanted Ballage on the depth chart prior to Drake being moved. After rushing for nine yards on nine carries in Week 11, Ballage rushed for 13 yards on seven carries in Miami's 41-24 loss to Cleveland on Sunday. While that line is technically better than the week before, that doesn't mean Ballage can be trusted going forward as even a dart-throw in your flex position. The Dolphins will face the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 13 and Ballage may start to face competition for touches from Myles Gaskin and Patrick Laird, making it difficult to find a reason to start the former preseason sleeper in any format.

From RotoBaller

Nov 24 5:43pm ET

Miami Dolphins RB Kalen Ballage rushed seven times for just 13 yards in Week 12 against the Cleveland Browns and he added one grab for 13 yards on his only target.

Fantasy Spin: Patrick Laird and Myles Gaskin are also getting some looks as sort of a three-headed monster in the Miami backfield, as they look for someone to emerge as the No. 1 tailback. It's a fantasy mess. Avoid the situation completely.

From TheHuddle

Nov 18 1:10pm ET

With a three-down role all to himself again, Miami Dolphins running back Kalen Ballage continued to be irrelevant in both fantasy and real-life on Sunday, putting up just six fantasy points in Miamis 37-20 loss to Buffalo. The fact that he got even six points was miraculous, as they only came due to a three-yard touchdown that he vultured after Devante Parker set the Dolphins up with a 50-yard reception in the first quarter. Ballage finished with a total of just 17 yards on 14 touches, rushing nine times for nine yards and catching five-of-six targets for just eight yards. Even facing little competition for touches in the Miami backfield, the slow-footed and wooden-handed Ballage should only be used by owners in the most dire of straits. This includes in Week 12, even though Ballage will be taking on a Cleveland Browns Defense thats allowing the 13th-most fantasy points to running backs in 2019.

From RotoBaller

Nov 17 10:03pm ET

Miami Dolphins RB Kalen Ballage rushed nine times for nine yards and a touchdown in Week 11 against the Buffalo Bills.

Fantasy Spin: Believe it or not, the nine yards was the team high for the Dolphins, which tells you a little about how they did in this game. When the team shipped away Kenyan Drake he had a golden opportunity to be the bellcow, but he is frittering his chance. The good news is that no one else is stepping up. Still, he is only worth keeping around as a RB4 heading into Week 12 in Cleveland.

From TheHuddle

Nov 15 2:53pm ET

Miami Dolphins CB Ken Webster (ankle) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 11 against the Buffalo Bills. DE Taco Charlton (elbow) and LB Raekwon McMillan (knee) were limited in practice all week and are listed as possible. S Reshad Jones (chest) and DE Avery Moss (ankle) practiced in full for a second straight day and are also listed as questionable. OL Jesse Davis (elbow), QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (shoulder), DT Davon Godchaux (shoulder), WR Jakeem Grant (toe, Achilles), LB Trent Harris (foot), C Daniel Kilgore (knee), CB Chris Lammons (ankle, toe), S Bobby McCain (shoulder), WR DeVante Parker (calf), TE Durham Smythe (knee, elbow), DT Christian Wilkins (toe) and WR Albert Wilson practiced in full Friday and no longer appear on the injury report. RB Kalen Ballage (neck, illness) was not given a practice designation Friday but was also removed from the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Nov 14 8:50pm ET

With all of his competition for touches being either traded or suspended, Miami Dolphins running back Kalen Ballage did little to impress in last week's 16-12 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Rushing for only 43 yards on 20 carries, and having rushed for only 113 yards on the season, Ballage has been a complete disappointment this year but will get an easier matchup in Week 11, as the Buffalo Bills have given up the ninth-most fantasy points to running backs in 2019. Ballage should continue to get a high volume of touches - with his only competition coming from Patrick Laird and Myles Gaskin - but he is still struggling to gain yards after first contact and is running behind one of the league's worst offensive lines. Even facing a Buffalo defense that struggles to stop the run, Ballage is no better than an RB3 this week, carrying a floor of zero and little upside. Leave him on your bench if at all possible, until Ballage proves he can contribute in a meaningful way.

Miami Dolphins RB Kalen Ballage (illness, neck) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 14.

Fantasy Spin: Ballage will continue to serve as the starting running back for the Dolphins over the next few weeks but has not posted great numbers this season. He could be a flex option in deep leagues because of the amount of carries he will receive but is not a must-start option.
