Brate played a reserve role for the Bucs once agin last year and had 20 receptions for 174 yards in that role. He had more than 50 yards just once all season. Brate has 20-plus receptions eight straight seasons. He plays his reserve role well and is expected to challenge for a similar role this season. Brate is a tall tight end with good speed for the position. He isn't a great blocker and lacks some strength, but is an asset in the passing game because of his size and speed. Brate can make plays in the passing game when given the chance.
FANTASY OUTLOOK: Brate is not much of a fantasy option in his current role. He won't get enough weekly targets to help most fantasy teams. He should get around 20 receptions for 200 yards and a score.
