2024 RTSports Outlook

Alie-Cox had just one game that helped fantasy teams last year, catching six passes for 85 yards and two touchdowns in Week 4. He did not have more than 30 yards in any other game the rest of the year. Alie-Cox is more help as a blocker than anything and should continue to play a similar role this year. He will get the occasional look in the passing game. Alie-Cox has 20-plus receptions two of three seasons. Alie-Cox is a very good athlete with good speed and leaping ability. He still needs work with his route running but is a solid blocker that helps land him on the field.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Alie-Cox might have a good game or two, but it will be tough to predict when that will happen. He is a big stretch for fantasy teams. He might get 20 receptions for 250 yards and a few scores.

The Athletic's James Boyd writes that Indianapolis Colts tight end Mo Alie-Cox is an easy target if the team wishes to create more salary cap space this offseason. He's entering the final year of a three-year, $17.6 million contract extension that he signed in 2022. Alie-Cox is due the last $5.9 million of that in 2024, but none of it is guaranteed. The 30-year-old is the team's best blocking tight end and has recorded at least three touchdowns in each of the last three seasons, but he's not getting any younger and is unlikely to develop into a true No. 1 pass-catching tight end at this point of his career. Both Will Mallory and third-year tight end Jelani Woods, who missed all of 2023 with hamstring issues, give the Colts more upside at the position amid their current youth movement. Alie-Cox hasn't been much more than a low-upside, touchdown-dependent TE2 option for fantasy managers in deep leagues.

Indianapolis Colts veteran tight end Mo Alie-Cox is coming off back-to-back games with a touchdown. Alie-Cox has three touchdowns on the season, despite not having more than two receptions in a single game this year. He now gets ready to face the Atlanta Falcons in Week 16, a defense that's allowing the ninth-most fantasy points to the position this season. The former VCU basketball standout has virtually no floor to work with, but fantasy managers in desperate need of filling their tight-end spot can throw in Alie-Cox with the hopes that he finds pay dirt for the third week in a row.
