Dec 13 6:30pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon hung 99 rushing yards on the Denver Broncos two weeks ago, and he'll need to find that same charge this week when he squares off against the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings are allowing the 6th-fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs this year, so Gordon will have to be at the top of his game if he's going to have a solid day. Gordon has topped 90 scrimmage yards for five straight weeks, but Minnesota is easily the best defensive front he's seen since he returned to full usage. Expect it to be hard slogging for Gordon, and don't be surprised if he posts his first poor day since he took over the full workload.

Dec 9 2:40am ET

Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon wasn't the talk of the town after Sunday's game against the Jaguars, but he was still productive for fantasy owners. Gordon only touched the ball 17 times in the team's rout of Jacksonville, but it was enough to get him a touchdown. He combined for 84 total scrimmage yards, and he averaged more than 4.6 yards per carry on the ground. It wasn't a whole lot compared to Austin Ekeler's ridiculous performance as his counterpart, but Gordon still held up his end of the bargain. Expect a tougher time next week against Minnesota, but Gordon should still be one the key players in the game.

Dec 8 10:03pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon rushed 12 times for 55 yards and a touchdown and caught five passes for 29 yards in a 45-10 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 14.

Fantasy Spin: Austin Ekeler's production has cut into Gordon's numbers just a bit, but he continues to see a heavy workload and is no worse than a high-floor RB2 option.

Dec 7 2:30pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon has been on a roll recently, and that train shouldn't slow down on Sunday against Jacksonville. Gordon has posted 90 or more yards from scrimmage in four straight games, and he's about to face one of the worst rushing defenses in the entire league. The Jaguars have allowed the fifth-most rushing yards and second-most rushing touchdowns in the NFL, and Gordon has returned to his full form. Expect Gordon to be a linchpin in the Chargers offense this week, and he could be one of the highest-performing players across the league.

From RotoBaller

Dec 2 1:40am ET

Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon put up another strong performance on Sunday when he carried the ball 20 times for 99 yards and caught a pair of passes for another 11 yards. Unfortunately, Gordon's performance wasn't enough to bring home a win. Gordon and Austin Ekeler both saw considerable action in this game, and both brought their signature styles to their performances. Gordon's 5.0 yards per carry made the third straight game where he's averaged 4.9 yards or more per rush. He's also hauled the ball 20 or more times in three of the last four games. Gordon is giving everything he can for his fantasy owners; hopefully, some more touchdowns will arrive soon.

Dec 2 12:53am ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon carried the ball 20 times for 99 yards against the Denver Broncos on Sunday, Dec. 1. Gordon added a pair of receptions for 11 yards.

Fantasy Spin: Gordon has now topped 100 yards from scrimmage in three of his last four games, scoring three times during that span. While Jacksonville performed much better against the run on Sunday, they've been mostly awful in recent weeks, meaning Gordon could be in for a big day in Week 14.

Nov 29 2:50pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon has played very well over the last three games, but he's going to need to find a way to get it done against the strong Denver defense if LA has a chance of winning Sunday's game. With Philip Rivers struggling badly in the team's last two games, don't be surprised if Denver keys on Gordon to be LA's most likely path to success. Denver's run defense is less intimidating than their pass defense, but LA has also shown that they're quick to abandon the run if they start trailing in a game. If the first drive or two can be successful for the Chargers, expect Gordon to carry the team. Unfortunately, that's not a likely scenario, so it's more likely that he puts up another dud due to lack of opportunities.

Nov 19 2:10am ET

Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon rushed the ball 14 times for 69 yards and caught three passes for 21 more yards in Monday's loss to the Chiefs. Averaging 4.9 yards per carry, it was surprising LA didn't lean more heavily on Gordon's ground game, especially with Philip Rivers throwing interception after interception. However, Gordon still topped 90 scrimmage yards, even if he didn't get to hit the end zone on any of his touches. With Rivers looking like a shell of his former self, Gordon could be in for some greater use over the team's remaining games. He remains one of the most potent parts of the Chargers offense.

Nov 16 1:20pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon will be looking for greatness on Monday night when he takes the field in Mexico City. Gordon has proven over the last two weeks that he is fully back and ready to roll, and now he gets to face the most generous run defense in the league. Kansas City has allowed more fantasy points to opposing running backs than any other team in the NFL, and LA happens to be in the middle of dealing with a quarterback who appears to have gotten very old very quickly. Expect the Chargers to lean heavily on Gordon's legs, and expect Gordon to capitalize on this wonderful opportunity. A multi-touchdown game seems like a good bet.

Nov 8 1:20am ET

Coming into Thursday night's game in Oakland, Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon had the biggest uphill battle. The Raiders secondary has been atrocious while their run defense has been acceptable, so the thought was that Gordon might be in for a test. Instead, he proved to be one of the only bright spots for the Chargers offense. Gordon racked up 108 yards on 22 carries with a touchdown, and he caught one pass for an additional 25 yards on the night. In what was easily his best performance of the season, Gordon looks like he should be a solid contributor moving forward.

From RotoBaller

Nov 8 12:33am ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon carried the ball 22 times for 108 yards and a touchdown against the Oakland Raiders in Week 9. Gordon also had a 25-yard reception.

Fantasy Spin: After running 20 times on Sunday, Gordon turned around and toted the rock another 22 times tonight, continuing what appears to be a newfound commitment to the running game. With his score tonight, the Wisconsin product now has five TDs in his last four games and is looking at another attractive matchup in Week 11 against the Chiefs.

From TheHuddle

Nov 7 3:30pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon finally got his feet under him on Sunday as he ran for 80 yards on 20 carries, and he looks like he's back to his old self. Last week was the team's first game since offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt was fired, and it coincided with Gordon getting more touches than in any game so far this season. Expect the offense to lean heavily on Gordon once again, and he'll be facing a below-average Raiders Defense that is particularly weak against passes out of the backfield. It wouldn't be surprising to see Gordon work his way into the end zone on a short pass.

From RotoBaller

Nov 4 2:30am ET

Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon logged 80 yards on 20 carries, and for the first time this season, he looked like his old self. Gordon made shifty cuts, powered through defenders, and even hurdled an incoming tackler to tack on a couple extra yards. Gordon also hauled in a pair of touchdowns including the backbreaking one on fourth down in the fourth quarter. Gordon was certainly helped by facing a Green Bay defense that is ranked 25th in the league against the run, but either way, he started to look like the rust was finally off. If Gordon can continue to run like that, he could prove to be a valuable commodity late in the fantasy season.

From RotoBaller

Nov 3 10:43pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon rushed 20 times for 80 yards and two touchdowns and caught three passes for 29 yards in a 26-11 win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 9.

Fantasy Spin: Gordon finally had a big performance, and fantasy owners can only hope it is a sign of things to come. A Week 10 matchup with Oakland should be a golden opportunity for Gordon to keep the momentum going.

From TheHuddle

Nov 1 7:30pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon has been borderline terrible since returning from his holdout. He's averaging 2.5 yards per carry with a 44-112-1 rushing line. He also has 11 catches for 37 yards and a score. The Green Bay Packers are a midrange defense allowing an average of 103.4 rushing yards per game to running backs the last five weeks. Gordon is slightly ahead of Austin Ekeler in the pecking order, but Ekeler has receiving touchdowns in consecutive games. View Gordon as a flex option this week.

From RotoBaller

Oct 28 12:00pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon scored his first rushing touchdown of the season against the Chicago Bears. Gordon otherwise struggled in the game, rushing the ball eight times for 31 yards as well as catching two passes for three yards. Gordon has struggled to make an impact since returning from his holdout at the start of the season. While the offense has struggled to have big plays this season, they have been able to move the ball. Gordon will continue to be a touchdown threat as the team's red-zone weapon, but his outlook will be limited in the offense. Coming into Week 9, Gordon will look to get back on track against the Green Bay Packers who have struggled to stop running backs this season.

From RotoBaller

Oct 27 4:23pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon rushed eight times for 31 yards and a touchdown in Week 8 against the Chicago Bears and he added two catches for three years on three targets.

Fantasy Spin: Gordon found the yardage hard to come by against the Bears rush defense which was solid. There just wasn't a lot of open real estate in this one. He'll look for more production at home against the Packers in Week 9.

From TheHuddle

Oct 27 11:23am ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon is expected to receive trade interest from other teams leading up to the trade deadline, but the Chargers would ask for a lot in return.

Fantasy Spin: Gordon has struggled since ending his holdout and has posted only 81 yards in three games. Fantasy players should keep an eye on the situation over the next few days to see if Gordon is moved. He likely will be more productive as the season goes on and can be a No. 2 fantasy running back.

From TheHuddle

Oct 27 10:20am ET

Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon could be in line for a big performance against the Chicago Bears this week. Gordon hasn't performed well since his return from his early-season holdout, due in part to the struggles of the offensive line, but this game offers a get-right opportunity. The Chargers are set to welcome back their left tackle Russell Okung (heart), which should help get the team back on track with protection. The Chicago Bears have given up an average of 28.9 points to the position, with the majority of that production coming since defensive tackle Akiem Hicks hit the injured reserve. Gordon is a solid RB2 this week but could end being an RB1 with his touchdown upside.

From RotoBaller

Oct 21 12:20pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon produced 32 yards on 16 carries during a 23-20 loss to the Tennessee Titans in Week 7. While he caught a one-yard touchdown pass, he also lost a fumble at the goal line in the final seconds of the game to drop the Chargers to 2-4 on the season. The 26-year-old continues to be outplayed by Austin Ekeler, but Gordon continues to get the majority of the touches. As long as he remains the workhorse in the offense, he is a worthy RB2 in fantasy formats. Unfortunately, he has a tough matchup in Week 8 against the daunting Chicago Bears Defense, which likely makes him a flex play at best.
