Seattle Seahawks linebacker Uchenna Nwosu (pectoral) suffered a season-ending pectoral injury in October of the 2023 campaign, but he said he expects to be ready for training camp this offseason. The former Los Angeles Chargers second-round pick in 2018 had his best season as a pro in his first year with Seattle (2022), totaling career highs in tackles (66), sacks (9.5), forced fumbles (three), and run stuffs (12.5). The 27-year-old appeared in just six games last year and collected two sacks. Nwosu is projected to be a starter in the first season under new head coach Mike Macdonald, who is known for helping develop defenders.

The Seattle Seahawks signed exclusive-rights free-agent tight end Brady Russell, defensive end Myles Adams, offensive guard McClendon Curtis, offensive tackle Raiqwon O'Neal and linebacker Joshua Onujiogu on Monday. The team also signed restricted free-agent cornerback Michael Jackson and linebacker Jon Rhattigan. Russell joined the Seahawks in 2023 as an undrafted free agent out of Colorado and played 308 snaps on special teams in 15 games played. He was only on the field for 17 offensive snaps for Seattle and wasn't targeted at all in his rookie season. The 25-year-old will most likely serve in a special teams role yet again in 2024 as he attempts to make the 53-man roster out of training camp this summer.

Seattle Seahawks president of football operations John Schneider said that both offensive tackle Abraham Lucas (knee) and linebacker Uchenna Nwosu (pectoral) are on track to be ready for the start of the 2024 season. Schneider is unsure if safety Jerrick Reed II (knee) will be ready, but he did say that Reed's rehab has gone well. Lucas, 25, had knee surgery at the end of last season, but he should be ready to go as the team's right tackle later this fall. Nwosu, 27, suffered a torn pectoral muscle in 2023 that limited him to six games. Getting the former second-round pick in 2018 out of USC back will be big news for Seattle's pass rush in 2024, as Nwosu picked up career-highs in combined tackles (66), sacks (9.5), tackles for loss (12) and QB hits (26) in 17 starts in 2022 in his first year in Seattle.

Free-agent offensive guard Josh Jones signed an undisclosed deal with the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday. Jones will head to Baltimore to give the Ravens more offensive line depth after spending the 2023 campaign with the Houston Texans, where played in 13 regular-season games (three starts). The 26-year-old was a third-round selection (72nd overall) by the Arizona Cardinals in 2020 out of Houston and spend the first three years of his NFL career in the desert with the Cardinals. In his four years in the league, Jones has started 24 of the 60 games that he's appeared in. Jones will most likely be serving as a backup at left guard in Baltimore behind Malaesala Aumavae-Laulu and Andrew Vorhees.

Mar 19 9:20pm ET

Former Dallas Cowboys nose tackle Johnathan Hankins is expected to sign an undisclosed deal with the Seattle Seahawks, according to a person close to the situation. The Cowboys were interested in bringing Hankins back, but the Seahawks offered more. The 31-year-old came into the NFL as a second-round pick of the New York Giants in 2013 out of Ohio State and spent the first four years of his career in the Big Apple before also playing for the Indianapolis Colts and Las Vegas Raiders. Hankins had 27 tackles (13 solo) and three sacks in 14 regular-season starts for Dallas in 2023. He will help beef up the interior of Seattle's defensive line in 2024 and brings veteran experience, but Hankins shouldn't be drafted in IDP fantasy leagues.

Free-agent linebacker Jerome Baker agreed to a one-year, $7 million contract with Seattle on Saturday. The 27-year-old finished last season by totaling 78 tackles, two picks, and 1.5 sacks in 13 games with Miami. However, after injuring his knee in December, he underwent wrist surgery in January and was released by the Dolphins in March due to a failed physical designation. Baker should have a clear path for snaps throughout the 2024-25 campaign. While he has had some solid years since entering the league in 2018, he must prove he can remain healthy moving ahead. That said, Baker still has a place on IDP rosters.

Former Miami Dolphins linebacker Jerome Baker is scheduled to visit with the Tennessee Titans on Thursday. Baker had 78 tackles (51 solo), 1.5 sacks, two interceptions and three passes defended in 13 games (12 starts) for Miami in 2023. Baker was released by the Dolphins on March 5 due to a failed-physical designation because of a wrist injury, but the 27-year-old's release was mostly about creating salary cap space. Baker was a former third-round pick by the Dolphins in 2018 out of Ohio State. In his six years in the NFL, he's recorded 22.5 sacks and has gone over 100 total tackles three times in 94 total games played (82 starts) with Miami. Baker should land on his feet somewhere else soon.

The Seattle Seahawks agreed to terms on Monday to re-sign star defensive end Leonard Williams to a three-year deal that averages $21.5 million per year, according to a source. Williams began last season with the New York Giants before being traded to the Seahawks, where he excelled in 10 games, recording 41 tackles (24 solo), four sacks, nine tackles for loss and 11 QB hits. The former sixth overall pick by the New York Jets in 2015 out of USC will stick around under new defensive-minded head coach Mike Macdonald in Seattle for his first full campaign with the team in 2024. The 29-year-old has high draft pedigree but has only recorded double-digit sacks once, when he came up with 11.5 sacks in 16 games (12 starts) with the G-Men back in 2020.
