Allen got a chance to start two games for the Texans last season, but didn't look too good with his chances. He had four interceptions to two touchdowns and completed 59 percent of his passes. All his mistakes led him to the bench once again. Allen has started 19 games in his career and played alright in that role, giving him value as a NFL backup. He will look for a job in that role this year. Allen is a pretty good athlete with a solid arm that normally makes sound decisions. He is a pretty accurate quarterback. Allen will force some passes, though, and doesn't always make the right reads.
FANTASY OUTLOOK: Allen was a flop last year with his chances, so he is a risk to use for fantasy teams if he happens to start once again this season.

Free-agent quarterback Kyle Allen signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to Ari Meirov of the 33rd Team. Allen, a six-year NFL veteran, has thrown for 4,734 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 21 interceptions through his first 30 NFL games with the Commanders, Panthers, Texans, and Bills. With Russell Wilson and Justin Fields now on the roster, Allen is likely competing to be the team's emergency quarterback and scout team signal-caller. The Steelers carried three quarterbacks on the roster last season, so he has a path to sticking around beyond the offseason and training camp. However, he can be safely ignored in fantasy football, regardless of format.
