Wilson had some injury issues and also was third on the depth chart for the Dolphins, getting little work throughout the season. He had 273 total yards in 10 games. Wilson had more than 50-rushing yards just once. Wilson can do well as a top backup because of his starting experience and three-down ability. He will look to earn that top backup role this season. Wilson doesn't wow in any one area but is a solid overall back. He does well between the tackles but also possesses enough speed to make plays on the outside. He also catches the ball well, showing he is capable of being a three-down back. He lacks a little big-play ability for the position, though.
FANTASY OUTLOOK: Wilson has more than 500 total yard just twice. He could get some more work this year but not likely enough to help most fantasy teams. He will be a reach to draft. He can get around 500 total yards and a few scores.
Miami Dolphins running back Jeff Wilson Jr. could find himself on the roster bubble heading into the 2024 season. Therefore, barring a strong training camp or Wilson joining a team with a much friendlier backfield situation, the veteran is not on the fantasy football radar. Wilson was healthy for 10 of 17 games last season but never made a start. He routinely operated behind Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane, finishing his age-28 season with 188 rushing yards, 85 receiving yards, and zero touchdowns. Between getting older and having limited production in a depth role, all signs point to Wilson being a non-factor or even being cut in 2024. It also doesn't help that the Dolphins would create more than $1.2 million in cap space by releasing him; this number could incentivize them to release him and keep a younger, cheaper running back on the roster instead. Ultimately, as it currently stands, Wilson is likely the No. 5 back behind Mostert, Achane, Jaylen Wright, and Salvon Ahmed. Even if Wilson surprises everyone with a great camp and does make the roster, he'll still be nothing more than a No. 3 running back. That role is not large enough to lead to fantasy relevance, so he'll remain off the radar heading into 2024.

Miami Dolphins running back Jeff Wilson Jr. won't be assured of a roster spot out of training camp this summer as part of a crowded backfield that includes Raheem Mostert, De'Von Achane and rookie fourth-rounder Jaylen Wright. The Dolphins also have Salvon Ahmed and Chris Brooks in the RB room. Head coach Mike McDaniel has an affinity for Wilson dating back to their time together with the San Francisco 49ers, but the fact remains that Mostert, Achane and Wright will be locks for the roster. The former undrafted free agent out of North Texas failed to take advantage of Achane's injuries in 2023 and only played in 10 games (zero starts) himself, running for just 188 yards and no touchdowns on 41 carries while adding 14 receptions for 85 yards and no touchdowns.

Miami Dolphins running back Jeff Wilson Jr. played a season-high 49 percent of the offensive snaps with Raheem Mostert (ankle, knee) out in the ugly 56-19 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, but he had just three carries for 21 yards and caught three of his four targets for 13 yards. Meanwhile, rookie running back De'Von Achane served as Miami's lead back with 18 total touches for 137 scrimmage yards and a touchdown through the air. The Dolphins aren't going to be resting players in a crucial Week 18 contest against the Buffalo Bills that will decide the winner of the AFC East. Even if Mostert misses his second straight game with multiple injuries, Wilson will most likely operate well behind Achane in Miami's backfield, making him no more than an RB3/flex option in deep PPR formats.
From RotoBaller
Miami Dolphins running back Jeff Wilson Jr. didn't see a single touch in Week 14 with the rest of the backfield healthy. His fantasy relevance is heavily dependent on whether or not De'Von Achane (toe) plays in Week 15. Achane remains questionable through the usual Friday injury report, so Wilson does have a shot at getting some more opportunities. When the Dolphins took on the Jets in Week 12, Wilson played in place of Achane and he saw 11 carries for 56 yards and three catches for 17 yards. Wilson would serve more as a desperation backup option, so fantasy managers should monitor Achane's status if they need to deploy Wilson in lineups.
