2024 RTSports Outlook

Gesicki had a really disappointing season last year, having just 32 receptions for 362 yards and five touchdowns. He just wasn't a great fit for the Dolphins new offense, having his lowest reception total since his rookie season (2018). Gesicki was just 23rd overall in fantasy tight end scoring. He signed with the Patriots this offseason to pair with Hunter Henry in an offense that uses a lot of two tight end sets. Gesicki plays more like a receiver than a tight end. He is a good athlete that just makes plays. He has very good hands and runs plus routes. He has dropped just seven passes in five seasons.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: A move to New England is a positive one for Gesicki. He could be a really good fit for the offense. The problem is he has Henry to compete with at tight end, which limits his value some. Take him as a low-end No. 2 or 3 fantasy tight end. He can get around 45 receptions for 500 yards and four touchdowns.

Dynasty | Gesicki signs a one year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals. Dynasty Analysis: Gesicki was once a highly touted TE who hasn't lived up to the hype. After five seasons with the Dolphins and last year with the Patriots, he joins the Bengals on a one year deal. He is a one-dimensional receiving TE who is a liability in the blocking game and will likely split time with newly re-signed Drew Sample. That said, there is some potential upside for fantasy, but managers shouldn't count on plugging him into your lineup anytime soon.

Free-agent TE Mike Gesicki (Patriots) agreed to a one-year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals Tuesday, March 12. The deal is worth up to $3.25 million.

Fantasy Spin: Gesicki has the likes of Tanner Hudson and Irv Smith Jr. to battle with. He has had two bad years in a row and turns 29 in October. But this is about as good of a landing spot as he could have hoped for. He'll be among the more attractive TE2s with upside.

Mar 12 11:20am ET

Veteran free-agent tight end Mike Gesicki is joining the Cincinnati Bengals on a one-year deal worth up to $3.25 million. The 2018 second-round pick has compiled 260 receptions on 415 targets for 2,861 yards and 20 touchdowns across five seasons with the Miami Dolphins and one season with the New England Patriots. The Bengals have not had an overly productive tight end in the Joe Burrow era, but if Tee Higgins is granted the trade he requested on Monday, Gesicki could become a top-three option in a potent passing game. There are still plenty of free agent and NFL draft moves to be made, though, so it's too early to assess, Gesicki's upside in 2024. At the very least, he should be in a strong offense with touchdown opportunities in the red zone.

New England Patriots tight end Mike Gesicki caught just one of three targets for five yards during Sunday's loss to the New York Jets. He dropped a pass in the end zone that would have given fantasy managers and the Patriots a key touchdown. On a more positive note, Gesicki made a clutch play in the contest, chasing down a defender after Bailey Zappe was picked off and forcing a fumble. He totaled 29 catches, 244 yards, and three touchdowns while spending most of this season behind Hunter Henry, who missed Week 18 with an ankle injury. The 28-year-old doesn't project to be a major fantasy contributor in 2024.

New England Patriots TE Pharaoh Brown, TE Mike Gesicki and WR DeVante Parker each recorded one catch apiece in Week 18 against the New York Jets. Brown's catch was for no gain with three targets, Gesicki had a 5-yard catch with three targets, and Parker had a 6-yard grab on four targets.

From TheHuddle

Jan 6 9:40pm ET

New England Patriots tight end Mike Gesicki will operate as the top option at his position with Hunter Henry (knee) sidelined for Week 18 versus the New York Jets. Gesicki has played more than 65 percent of snaps in his two games with Henry sidelined, averaging 8.5 fantasy points per game during that span. However, unfavorable weather conditions will likely limit Gesicki's target total on Sunday. Without meaningful volume, in order for Gesicki to have fantasy relevance, he'll likely need to break off a huge play or find the end zone. Fantasy managers should view him as a mid-to-low TE2 with a mediocre ceiling and low floor.

From RotoBaller

Jan 1 10:10am ET

New England Patriots tight end Mike Gesicki turned six targets into four catches for 35 yards during Sunday's loss to the Buffalo Bills. The veteran pass-catcher earned increased opportunities with Hunter Henry (knee) sidelined for the consecutive week. During his brief stint as the Patriots' top tight end, Gesicki has compiled six catches, 50 yards, and one touchdown. Unless Henry misses next week's game against the New York Jets, Gesicki will fall off the fantasy radar.

From TheHuddle

Dec 25 12:00am ET

New England Patriots tight end Mike Gesicki caught two passes for 15 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's win over the Denver Broncos. The veteran handled increased opportunities in Week 16 with Hunter Henry (knee) sidelined. While Gesicki didn't necessarily see more targets than usual, he certainly filled Henry's end-zone role. Henry had three touchdowns over his last two games, and with Gesicki's score on Sunday, tight ends have accounted for two-thirds of Bailey Zappe's passing touchdowns since taking over as the starter. With all this being said, Gesicki should see his workload dwindle as soon as Henry returns, perhaps as early as next week.

From RotoBaller

Dec 24 12:20am ET

New England Patriots tight end Mike Gesicki is purely a speculative option for fantasy football in Week 16 against the Denver Broncos. While he has primarily occupied a backup role this season, he'll upgrade to the No. 1 slot on Sunday night after Hunter Henry (knee) was ruled out. If he can replicate Henry's production over the last two weeks (10 catches, 106 yards, three touchdowns), then he'll absolutely be a fine TE1 option. However, we don't know what to expect from the Patriots sans Henry. Until we get a more clear answer, Gesicki will drop to the TE2 tier in fantasy football.
