Allen was the top backup for the Bills last year. He got in seven games but didn't attempt a pass, just running the clock out for the team. Allen has started 19 games in his career and played alright in that role, giving him value as a NFL backup. Allen is a pretty good athlete with a solid arm that normally makes sound decisions. He is a pretty accurate quarterback. Allen will force some passes, though, and doesn't always make the right reads.
FANTASY OUTLOOK: Allen has never been much of a help to fantasy teams when given the chance to start, so he will be a reach for fantasy teams even if he manages to find the field this season.

Allen, a six-year NFL veteran, has thrown for 4,734 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 21 interceptions through his first 30 NFL games with the Commanders, Panthers, Texans, and Bills. With Russell Wilson and Justin Fields now on the roster, Allen is likely competing to be the team's emergency quarterback and scout team signal-caller. The Steelers carried three quarterbacks on the roster last season, so he has a path to sticking around beyond the offseason and training camp.
