2024 RTSports Outlook

Bourne saw a big dip in production in year two with the Patriots. He had 434-receiving yards after getting 800 his first year in New England. He did have a 100-yard game in Week 16 but that was his only game with double-digit fantasy points all season. Bourne does well as the No. 3 or 4 receiver, a role he will likely serve again this season. Bourne has more than 500 yards just two of six seasons in the NFL. Bourne is a big, strong receiver that makes him a tough cover for the opposition. He isn't a speed burner, though, and just a so-so route runner. He is more of a possession receiver but is capable of making the big play.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Bourne was a bust for fantasy teams last year. He could do a little better this season but likely isn't worth a roster spot. He could get 40 receptions for 500 yards and a few scores.

Wide receiver Kendrick Bourne agreed to a new deal to remain in New England. The contract is for three years, and he'll be eligible to earn up to $33 million. The 28-year-old amassed 406 yards and four touchdowns off 37 catches last season. However, despite appearing on track for a career year, Bourne suffered a torn ACL during the AFC East battle with the Miami Dolphins in Week 8. Fortunately, he should be ready to go for the 2024-25 campaign. But with a new head coach in the equation and Mac Jones out of the picture, Bourne could have a tough time finding his rhythm. His knee injury is also something fantasy managers should keep in the back of their heads. Yet, while reaching for him during fantasy drafts heading into the new season isn't recommended, he's worth grabbing if he's available later than expected.

The New England Patriots and impending free agent wide receiver Kendrick Bourne are working to agree on a new contract ahead of 2024 free agency, but there's still a "notable gap" in negotiations, according to NFL insider Josina Anderson. Bourne played in just eight games last year before suffering a torn ACL, yet he still finished third on the team with 406 receiving yards. Since signing with the Patriots in 2021, Bourne has hauled in 127 passes for 1,640 yards and 10 touchdowns. Given the weakness of New England's wide receiver group, re-signing him before he can hit the open market appears to be a priority.

Free-agent wide receiver Kendrick Bourne (knee) had positive news for reporters when asked how his recovery from a torn ACL is going. Bourne mentioned that he should be able to get some work in this spring and that he should be "full-go" once training camp kicks off. "My plan is to play game 1," he told reporters. Bourne was on his way to a career year for the New England Patriots in 2023 before tearing his ACL in Week 8, catching 37 passes for 406 yards and four touchdowns through eight games. The Patriots have reportedly already offered Bourne a new contract, according to the Boston Herald, although he may wait to see what he can fetch when NFL free agency opens on March 13.

The New England Patriots have made an offer to impending free-agent wide receiver Kendrick Bourne (knee) after months of stalled talks, according to a source. Despite playing in only eight games last year due to an ACL tear that he suffered in Week 8, the 28-year-old is expected to draw significant interest on the open market if he makes it to free agency. The Jets were among the teams to show interest in Bourne over the last 18 months, when a Patriots source said their front office received trade calls at the end of training camp in 2022 and 2023. The Raiders, Rams, Bills and Texans were other teams interested, but they were told Bourne wasn't available. Two front-office executives project Bourne to eventually sign a deal with an average annual value around $7 million. He's ahead of schedule in his recovery from his ACL and is tracking toward a return for Week 1 of the 2024 regular season.

KPRC's Aaron Wilson says not to expect a new deal at this time for New England Patriots impending free-agent wide receiver Kendrick Bourne (knee), according to league sources. Bourne is expected to test the market, where strong interest is expected. He's expected to make a full recovery and be ready for Week 1 of the 2024 regular season after tearing the ACL in his right knee in Week 8. The 28-year-old said he would like to re-sign with New England, but that won't stop him from leaving if he finds a better offer on the open market. Before his injury in 2023, Bourne was averaging career-bests with 4.6 catches and 50.8 receiving yards per game. Latching on with another team might be best for his fantasy value, given the fact that the Patriots are shifting to a whole new coaching staff, but he'll also be a risky fantasy selection coming off major knee surgery.

Feb 7 1:30pm ET

New England Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne (knee) said he's ahead of schedule in his rehab and projects to be ready for the 2024 season opener despite tearing his right ACL in the team's loss to the Miami Dolphins on Oct. 29. He's one of the team's 18 players scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in March, but Bourne is hoping to re-sign with New England. "I want to come back [to New England]. That is a goal of mine. I love being a Patriot -- it's a great environment for a person like me," Bourne said. The 28-year-old was on pace for a career-best season in 2023 before getting injured, even considering the team's offensive struggles as a whole. The Patriots have undergone an entire coaching-staff change, so even if Bourne re-signs, there's no guarantee he'll pick up where he left off in 2023.

New England Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne (knee) had successful surgery to fix his torn right ACL on Wednesday, and it was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles. Bourne is rehabbing in the same facility as New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers. It's believed that he could recover in time for the start of training camp next summer. The 28-year-old was the Patriots' leading receiver at the time of his season-ending injury in the Week 8 loss to the Miami Dolphins. Bourne finishes his 2023 campaign with 37 receptions for 406 yards and four touchdowns on 55 targets. In his absence the rest of the way, rookie Demario Douglas and JuJu Smith-Schuster should continue to operate as the team's top two wideouts. Bourne will be an unrestricted free agent in March of 2024.

Dynasty | Kendrick Bourne will miss the remainder of the season after tearing his ACL Dynasty Analysis: If things weren't already going poor enough for the Patriots, it just got worse as the team learned Bourne tore his ACL. Early reports were more optimistic but the worst was confirmed. The team loses its top receiver, who has scored in his last two games. He turns 29 before kick-off of the 2024 season and will be a free agent, making it unlikely that he's back with the team. He's listed as DLF's WR98 and should fall further into this news. It's now an all hands on deck situation for the Patriots, who could now be more active in the trade market ahead of tomorrow's trade deadline.

New England Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne (knee) suffered a torn right ACL in the Week 8 loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, according to a source. Bourne will miss the remainder of the season and can be safely dropped in single-year fantasy leagues at this time. The 28-year-old was the most consistent wideout for a struggling Patriots offense all year, and he'll finish with 37 receptions on 55 targets for 406 yards and four touchdowns in eight games. The Patriots also lost DeVante Parker to a head injury on Sunday, so they could be down to JuJu Smith-Schuster, Demario Douglas and Jalen Reagor heading into a Week 9 date with the Washington Commanders. Tight ends Hunter Henry and Mike Gesicki should also have bigger roles moving forward with Bourne done for the year.

According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, New England Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne (knee) will get an MRI on Monday. The wideout injured his right knee during the Week 8 meeting with the Dolphins and didn't return. He's had a good 2023-24 campaign, so fantasy managers hope the ailment won't keep him out for the remainder of the year. Fortunately, the team is optimistic Bourne avoided anything serious. But if the 28-year-old misses time, it could mean more targets for Hunter Henry, Demario Douglas, and JuJu Smith-Schuster. DeVante Parker (head), who also left Sunday's contest with a head injury, would also benefit, assuming he doesn't join Bourne on the shelf.

Oct 29 3:40pm ET

New England Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne (knee) has been ruled out for the remainder of Week 8 versus the Miami Dolphins. He had caught three of four targets for 36 yards and one touchdown, salvaging his fantasy performance prior to his departure. New England could struggle to replace Bourne on offense and will now turn to some combination of Demario Douglas, DeVante Parker, and JuJu Smith-Schuster at the wide receiver position.

From RotoBaller

Oct 27 12:10am ET

New England Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne is quickly ascending as a valuable option in fantasy football, and he could reach the WR2 tier in a juicy Week 8 matchup against the Miami Dolphins. The 28-year-old has 16 catches, 152 yards, and one touchdown over the last two weeks, ranking as the WR8 overall during that span. He played a season-high 93 percent of snaps in both of those games, highlighting his prominent role in the Patriots' offensive attack. Now, with the Patriots projected to throw the ball a lot versus Miami, Bourne could ascend to the next level. Having exhibited reliable hands and the ability to handle heavy volume, Bourne is suddenly a fringe top-24 fantasy receiver.

From RotoBaller

Oct 22 6:00pm ET

New England Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne turned seven targets into six catches for 63 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's win over the Buffalo Bills. Bourne operated as Mac Jones' favorite target once again and helped the Patriots' offense find some much-needed life in the upset victory. He should be viewed as a high-end fantasy WR3 ahead of an appealing matchup against the Miami Dolphins in Week 8.

From RotoBaller

Oct 20 11:30am ET

New England Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne has recently been the team's top option in the passing game, giving him WR3/FLEX appeal for Week 7 versus the Buffalo Bills. While Bourne's production hinges on the play of quarterback Mac Jones, who has struggled mightily over the last three weeks, the veteran receiver capitalized on heavy volume last Sunday against the Raiders. Bourne finished that game with 11 targets, 10 catches, and 89 yards and might see a similar load in Week 7 if the Patriots fall behind early, as expected. As bye weeks and injuries take a toll on fantasy teams, Bourne could give managers much-needed relief as a WR3 with upside.

Oct 15 9:20pm ET

New England Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne was targeted 11 times during Sunday's loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. He finished the game with 10 catches for 89 receiving yards while also adding a four-yard rush. Bourne played a huge role with JuJu Smith-Schuster (head) and Demario Douglas (head) sidelined. This was his second-best fantasy performance of the season and makes him a reasonable WR3/FLEX option against the Buffalo Bills in Week 7.

New England Patriots' WR Kendrick Bourne had 10 receptions for 89 yards but no touchdowns in Sunday's loss in Las Vegas.

Oct 13 12:10am ET

New England Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne has low-end fantasy appeal heading into Week 6 versus the Las Vegas Raiders. The Patriots' offense has been terrible lately, but perhaps clashes with the Jets, Cowboys, and Saints made New England look worse than it actually is. A matchup with the mediocre-at-best Raiders could give the Patriots new life, and Bourne has a chance to benefit significantly with JuJu Smith-Schuster (head), Demario Douglas (head), and Tyquan Thornton (shoulder) all banged up. If the Patriots pass the ball a lot and can expose Vegas' suspect secondary, Bourne could have fantasy relevance. Such an outcome is far from a guarantee, but this might be a risk worth taking in deep leagues.

From RotoBaller

Oct 8 4:50pm ET

New England Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne caught two of five targets for 43 yards against the New Orleans Saints in Week 5. The 29-year-old led the Patriots in targets and yards, but that was a low bar to surpass given New England mustered zero points and just 156 net yards on offense. As the Patriots try to overcome offensive struggles, Bourne is nothing more than a bench option in deeper fantasy leagues.

From RotoBaller

Oct 2 11:20am ET

New England Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne hauled in two of three targets for 36 yards in Week 4 versus the Cowboys. The Patriots lost by a score of 38-3, falling to 1-3 on the season. This was the Bourne's worst game of the season in terms of both statistics and fantasy production. The 28-year-old had a big Week 1, playing 91 percent of snaps and scoring two touchdowns, but has come back down to earth since then. Notably, he has yet to log more than 56 percent of snaps in a single game since the opener. He has lost playing time to DeVante Parker and Demario Douglas and isn't an appealing fantasy option for the time being.
