Mostert made waves late in the season for the 49ers, especially in the playoffs. He had a monster game in the Championship Game, rushing 29 times for 220 yards and four touchdowns. Mostert had double-digit carries five straight games to end his season and all three playoff games for the 49ers. He found the end zone six straight regular season games to end his year. Mostert was 26th overall in fantasy running back scoring despite having double-digit carries just two times his first 11 games. He finished with 952 total yards and 10 touchdowns. Mostert averaged an impressive 5.6 yards per carry. He likely will start this year for the 49ers but will rotate with other backs, getting fewer carries than your normal starter. Mostert doesn't have great size for the position and lacks a little thump, but has good speed and moves in space. He also needs to improve as a receiver if he hopes to be a legit three-down back in the NFL.
FANTASY OUTLOOK: Mostert earned the right for big playing time this year with his great play in the playoffs. The issue is he could be the odd man out some weeks, causing his production to be erratic. He is going to have some big games, though, so taking him as a No. 2 back is recommended. This offense can churn out the rush-ing yards. Mostert can get around 1,300 total yards, double-digit scores and 30 receptions.
Despite being caught in a committee situation last year, Raheem Mostert finished as a Top 25 fantasy running back and scored 10 times. He demonstrated a lot of versatility and upside, and was clearly the most explosive RB on the San Francisco roster. Mostert averaged 4.9 yards per carry during the regular season, then delivered a major breakout performance in the NFC Championship Game, when he rushed for 220 yards and four TDs against Green Bay. Mostert is capable of scoring from anywhere on the field. He first flashed his significant potential in Week 2, as he totaled 151 yards from scrimmage. Mostert was a very useful fantasy piece down the stretch, as he delivered double figure PPR performances from Weeks 12 through 17. The Niners may still exhibit a committee approach this season. San Francisco is hopeful Jerick McKinnon can be available for usage this season and Jeff Wilson Jr. is always capable of finding his way into the mix as well. The 49ers had the highest run/pass ratio in the NFC and should continue to focus heavily on the ground game. That makes Mostert capable of contributing significant fantasy totals in any given week. But you never know who may lead the backfield in production at any time. Mosterts ADP is 55 and he is ranked 29th at RB by the RotoBaller staff. For Mostert, 1,200-plus yards from scrimmage and eight or more total TDs are realistic expectations. But the week to week consistency is still in question, and makes him more of a boom or bust flex option. He is an even better pick as a RB2 type in Best Ball formats.

San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert is looking to be paid similarly to what the highest-paid running backs on the roster are scheduled to make, according to Mostert's agent. RB Tevin Coleman is scheduled to make $4.55 million next season, which is what Mostert would like to make.
Fantasy Spin: Mostert has asked for a trade, but the 49ers may decide to keep him with or without a new contract. He is coming off his best season and would have a significant role if he stays with the 49ers. Fantasy players should monitor the situation because Mostert could be at least a flex option in fantasy leagues.
San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert requested a trade on Wednesday, per his agent, Brett Tessler. Mostert and his representation simply want to bring him in line with the highest-paid running backs on the team. Tevin Coleman will make $4.55 million in 2020. Mostert has two years left on his deal, which initially paid him as mainly a special teams player. He became the team's lead back down the stretch last year, helped lead the team to a Super Bowl appearance and led the NFL in yards per carry. It's likely that the two sides work something out, but if not, Tevin Coleman would become a lot more interesting. Even though he's set to be San Fran's lead back in 2020, Mostert could lose touches to Coleman and Jerick McKinnon, making him more of a low-end RB2/high-end RB3.
San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert has requested a trade, according to his agent.
Fantasy Spin: Mostert is coming off the best season of his career with 772 rushing yards and eight touchdowns but has not received the new contract he is looking for this offseason. Fantasy players should monitor the situation to see where Mostert will play this season because he can be at least a flex option in leagues.
San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert has had contract extension talks with the 49ers this offseason, but it is not known how much progress they have made during the talks, according to The Athletic's Matt Barrows.
Fantasy Spin: Mostert had a breakout season in 2019 and will continue to have a significant role in the offense this upcoming season. He has a chance to be at least a No. 3 running back in fantasy leagues and can be a flex option in most leagues.
San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert soon could receive a contract extension this offseason, in the opinion of one team beat reporter.
Fantasy Spin: Mostert emerged as a late-season fantasy force in 2019 and wound up leading the team in rushing (772 yards) and total TDs (10). He still projects as the Niners' lead back, but there also is plenty of competition for touches so value him as a low-end RB2 for now.
San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert hit 20-plus mph on four rushes last season, putting him in elite company among ball-carriers, as only seven players reached that benchmark. And Mostert did it with fewer total carries than anyone. He averaged a maximum speed of 13.75 mph on his touches in 2019, which is the highest mark among all running backs in the NFL with a minimum of 100 touches. Mostert did his best work in the playoffs in the run to the Super Bowl, but Kyle Shanahan prefers a committee backfield, which will limit Mostert's fantasy upside despite his abilities as a runner. Unless his usage suddenly goes up, which is unlikely, Mostert is more of a high-end RB3/low-end RB2.
San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert could land a contract extension before tight end George Kittle does, in the opinion of The Athletic's Matt Barrows. Wide receiver Kendrick Bourne is another player that could be looking at an extension in the near future. Mostert stepped up down the stretch and in the postseason for the Niners and became their lead back, but San Fran's backfield remains crowded even after they traded Matt Breida to the Dolphins. In a backfield that could change weekly based on the hot hand, Mostert will be fighting for touches with Tevin Coleman and Jerick McKinnon (if healthy), making him more of a high-end RB3/flex in most leagues.
San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert has added some muscle to his frame - he played last season around 205 pounds - in anticipation that he will handle at least 200 carries in 2020.
Fantasy Spin: Mostert tied Tevin Coleman for the team lead with 137 carries last season. Both backs return this season, but the former was clearly the better back at the end of the season. Matt Breida and his 123 rush attempts were traded to the Miami Dolphins during the draft, so the opportunity is there for Mostert if he can stay healthy. As a lead back in a very good offense, Mostert makes for a high-upside RB3 option in most leagues this year.
San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert said that he has put on more muscle this offseason and thinks it's necessary in order to shoulder a 200-carry workload in 2020. Mostert, 28, became the team's lead back in the second half of last season and during the Super Bowl run in the postseason. He tallied 137 carries for 772 yards (5.6 yards per carry) and eight touchdowns, but he had only 14 receptions on 22 targets in 16 games (zero starts) in the regular season. His rise in 2019 will inflate his fantasy price, and even though the Niners traded Matt Breida, San Fran's backfield is still plenty crowded, especially if Jerick McKinnon can finally get on the field. Don't let Mostert's strong end to 2019 inflate his cost as anything more than an RB3/flex most weeks.
San Francisco 49ers RBs Tevin Coleman and Raheem Mostert will likely 'share the load' on early downs in 2020, according to NBC Sports Bay Area's Matt Maiocco.
Fantasy Spin: It's an interesting yet unsurprising notion after Mostert finished the season about as well as any running back in the league. Head coach Kyle Shanahan has long been a proponent of Coleman, however, and views him as a nice complement because he runs like a bigger back. Mostert should still be considered the better fantasy option entering the season, but he could end up being a little more inconsistent than owners might expect if Coleman stays healthy.
San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert said he wants to be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Mostert exploded in the NFC Championship game, rushing for 220 yards and four touchdowns. 'That's something I want to be, man. I want to be able to have a gold jacket, and the only way to do that is to be great,' Mostert said. The 49ers remain deep at running back, with Mostert returning along with Tevin Coleman, Matt Breida and Jerick McKinnon.
Fantasy Spin: Mostert will be an interesting RB4 in 2020, as he'll likely be part of a consistent committee situation again this season. Considering the other backs have had health problems and his impressive showing in 2019, he'll definitely bring upside to the table.
San Francisco 49ers RBs Raheem Mostert (3.5) and Matt Breida (3.3) ranked first and second, respectively, in the league among running backs in average yards before contact per attempt last season.
San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert handled 12 carries for 58 yards and a touchdown in the Super Bowl loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He also caught a pass for two yards. Mostert again manned the backfield, out touching Tevin Coleman 12 to five. Mostert ripped a handful of his typical long gains but came nowhere near his four-touchdown eruption in the NFC Championship. His score came on a one-yard third quarter plunge. After a breakout regular season with 952 scrimmage yards, 10 touchdowns and a spectacular playoff run, Mostert should be the favorite to lead the Niners backfield in 2020. However, due to the Niners structure rushing committee, hell likely enter fantasy drafts as a mid-tier RB2.
San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo completed 20 of his 31 passes for 219 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions in a 31-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIV Sunday, Feb. 2. RB Raheem Mostert rushed 12 times for 58 yards and a touchdown and caught one pass for two yards, and RB Tevin Coleman rushed five times for 28 yards and caught one pass for three yards. WR Deebo Samuel caught five passes for 39 yards and rushed three times for 53 yards, WR Emmanuel Sanders caught three of his five targets for 38 yards, and TE George Kittle hauled in four passes for 36 yards. FB Kyle Juszczyk caught three passes for 39 yards and a touchdown. SS Jimmie Ward notched a game-high 11 tackles, DE Nick Bosa recorded a sack, and DL DeForest Buckner logged 1.5 sacks.
San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert is the favorite to lead the Super Bowl in rushing this Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. Fresh off a four-touchdown bonanza in the NFC Championship, Mostert draws a Chiefs Defense that ranked 29th in rushing DVOA during the regular season. The fifth-year breakout star will likely share touches with Tevin Coleman (shoulder) and Matt Breida, but hes been the most effective runner throughout the season. Mostert will be a popular DFS and prop bet candidate heading into the biggest game of his career.
San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert gained 158 of his 220 rushing yards after contact in the NFC Championship Game win over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, Jan. 19. It was the most yards after contact by a running back in the postseason since 2006.
Fantasy Spin: Next up is a Chiefs run defense that surrendered 128.2 yards per game during the regular season -- seventh most in the league -- but the larger fantasy question is whether Mostert will enter 2020 as the Niners' lead back. A standout game on the Super Bowl stage surely will go a long way toward cementing that.
San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert exploded for 220 yards and four touchdowns on 29 carries against the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship. He also caught two passes for six yards. Mostert was unstoppable on Sunday, converting three rushing scores of 36, nine and 18 in the first half. He capped his evening with a 22-yard touchdown in the third quarter. The fifth-year breakout player was the star in the Niners easy 37-20 victory and will again lead the backfield into the Super Bowl in two weeks against the Kansas City Chiefs.
San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert rushed for 220 yards and four touchdowns on 29 carries in a 37-20 win over the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game Sunday, Jan. 19, becoming the first player in NFL history to rush for at least 200 yards and four touchdowns in a playoff game.
San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo completed six of his eight passes for 77 yards in a 37-20 win over the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game Sunday, Jan. 19. RB Raheem Mostert rushed 29 times for 220 yards and four touchdowns and caught two passes for six yards, and RB Tevin Coleman rushed six times for 21 yards. WR Deebo Samuel caught two passes for 46 yards and rushed twice for 43 yards, TE George Kittle caught his only target for 19 yards, and WR Emmanuel Sanders was held without a catch on one target. DE Joey Bosa and DL Arik Armstead both recorded a sack.
San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert is the only player since special-teams tackles were first tracked in 2001 to lead his team in rushing yards and special-teams tackles in the same season.
Fantasy Spin: While Mostert is a breakout talent who led the Niners in rushing in each of their last six regular-season games, keep in mind that it was Tevin Coleman who led the squad in rushing attempts (22), yards (105) and touchdown runs (2) in the divisional-round playoff win over the Vikings as Mostert (12-58-0) battled a calf cramp which he said was an after affect of an illness he dealt with the week leading up to the game. In the meantime, it's a plus matchup Sunday against a Packers defense which allowed the ninth-most rushing yards (120.1) per game during the regular season.
