May 29 1:10pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston has liked what he's seen from running back Ronald Jones II so far in organized team activities. "I would say RoJo has been showing out. His confidence, his comfort, RoJo's a smart guy. He's getting comfortable in this offense. No one is breathing down his neck. He's more relaxed and executing at a high level," Winston said. The second-round pick in 2018 had a bad rookie year, running the ball just 23 times for 44 yards (1.9 average) and a touchdown in only nine games. He's still only 21, though, and it's basically just him and Peyton Barber in the backfield. It'd be hard for him not to improve on his 2018 numbers, but fantasy owners will want to see it first.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers inside linebacker Devin White, the fifth overall pick in the draft, looks like a stud already in offseason workouts. White picked off quarterback Jameis Winston in 11-on-11 drills in practice last week and is a good bet to win Defensive Rookie of the Year, in the opinion of the Pewter Report's Scott Reynolds. With any pick inside the top 10 in the draft, they have a lot of upside immediately in the NFL. White should be no different and is worth a draft selection in IDP leagues.

May 2 8:53pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston has thrown 58 career interceptions, and 41 of them (70.7 percent) have come while Tampa Bay has been trailing in a contest. Factoring in every NFL quarterback in 2018, the league's percentage of trailing interceptions was 59.5 percent.

Fantasy Spin: While stats of this nature are fun to examine, it doesn't too much for fantasy purposes. Tightening up the defense under coordinator Todd Bowles could mean fewer mistakes for Winston, which, in theory, translates to more opportunities for racking up fantasy points via sustained drives. In theory, anyway. Winston has the tools to threaten the low-end tier of QB1s, and gamers won't have to spend up for him. He makes for a fine gamble, if you're into pairing risky quarterbacks later in the draft, or Winston is a reasonable No. 2 behind a proven star to protect against injury.

Mar 26 12:20am ET

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are expected to sign free-agent quarterback Blaine Gabbert as Jameis Winston's backup. Gabbert played under head coach Bruce Arians and quarterbacks coach Byron Leftwich in Arizona in 2017. The 29-year-old played in eight games for the Titans last year and had 624 yards passing, four touchdowns and four interceptions. He's a veteran backup option, having played in the NFL for eight seasons and four different teams.

Mar 24 2:13am ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston, who is listed at 6-foot-4 and 231 pounds, intends to add muscle during the offseason and wants to play at 250 pounds in 2019. 'I'm getting it. I'm going to play bigger this year. I'm about 250. Yeah. A solid 250. It's just about hydration and being at the peak body, too,'' Winston said.

Fantasy Spin: It's unclear why Winston feels the need to put on weight, although fantasy owners will probably take it if it allows him to stay on the field and improve on his deep passing. The arrival of head coach Bruce Arians figures to be a boon to his career, and there is little question he has a capable supporting cast with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and O.J. Howard as his primary targets. If he doesn't thrive this season, he'll likely have no one but himself to blame.

Mar 8 9:33pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston said he hopes WR DeSean Jackson remains with the team in 2019, and he called Jackson one of the 'best deep-threat targets' in the league.

Fantasy Spin: Winston and Jackson have never been able to click on a consistent basis, and Jackson has made it clear that he wants out of Tampa Bay. Wherever he ends up, Jackson is likely going to be a big play-dependent WR3.

Mar 5 2:10pm ET

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers re-signed left tackle Donovan Smith to a three-year deal on Tuesday. The contract is worth $41.25 million with $27 million fully guaranteed. The second-round pick in 2015 has played in every game in the last four years and has become a mainstay on Tampa's offensive line. With the Bucs locking up both Smith and guard Ali Marpet to long-term deals, the team's offensive line is in a good place. That's good news for quarterback Jameis Winston, who is seeking to take the next step under the new coaching staff in 2019.

Feb 27 1:33am ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is unlikely to return to the team in 2019 because of his success last season, according to Pewter Report's Scott Reynolds, who adds new head coach Bruce Arians doesn't want Jameis Winston 'looking over his shoulder. Reynolds also reports Arians hopes to avoid 'any potential division in the locker room' as the franchise attempts to find out if Winston is worthy of a long-term contract extension.

Feb 11 12:33pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston has struggled with bad decisions and poor mechanics throughout his four-year pro career, according to new head coach Bruce Arians. However, Arians stopped well short of placing all the blame on Winston for his 58 interceptions and 18 lost fumbles, suggesting much of the blame for his turnovers were the product of being on a poor football team that found itself trailing by multiple scores too often.

Fantasy Spin: It's clear Arians believes in Winston and his ability to curb the turnovers, and it helps matters the 66-year-old coach has an extensive track record working with some of the game's best quarterbacks, such as Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, Andrew Luck and Carson Palmer. The former No, 1 overall pick doesn't lack for weapons and Arians' presence figures to be a boon for the entire offense, so it's really a matter of the running game and defense coming around. Winston could easily return to QB1 status in 2019.

Jan 18 11:53pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston threw 11 interceptions in his first five games in 2018 and three interceptions over his final six games.

Fantasy Spin: Winston has QB1 potential, but he has struggled with consistency throughout his career. Fantasy owners can hope that the solid finish to 2018 was a sign of things to come next season.

Jan 17 11:43pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston will benefit from having Bruce Arians as his head coach, according to retired QB Carson Palmer. 'It's probably the best thing that could've happen to Jameis at this point in his career,' Palmer said. 'Getting a guy like B.A. to come in and clean up some things technically. And really installing what he does best and that's push the ball down the field.'

Fantasy Spin: Winston's upside is undeniable, but poor decision making and turnovers remain an issue. If Arians can help him out in the consistency department, Winston could easily finish as a QB1 in 2019.

Jan 10 9:53pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich is a 'rising star,' according to head coach Bruce Arians, and Arians is optimistic that Leftwich can help QB Jameis Winston improve as a player.

Fantasy Spin: Winston has the talent and the weapons to be a QB1 this season, but the question is whether or not Leftwich and Arians can bring the best out of the quarterback on a weekly basis. Consider him a QB2 with upside for now.

Jan 10 9:33pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston just needs to relax and let his natural ability take over, according to head coach Bruce Arians. 'Talent is no issue,' Arians said. 'It's just becoming a little bit smarter.'

Fantasy Spin: Winston will be at the helm of an offense that is loaded with weapons, but it remains to be seen if Arians can help the quarterback find some consistency. Consider him a QB2 with upside heading into 2019.

Jan 9 2:33pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston will be the focal point of the offense under new head coach Bruce Arians. Arians lauded the controversial quarterback, crediting his work ethic, intelligence, toughness and physical abilities. Arians added that he has to put the right pieces around Winston.

Fantasy Spin: Things are looking up for Winston, who averaged the second most fantasy points per game among quarterbacks last year. If the Buccaneers add someone like Le'Veon Bell to take over an abysmal backfield, they'll have one of the best offenses in the league. Either way, Winston is a QB1 contender in 2019.

Jan 8 6:00pm ET

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are finalizing a deal to make Bruce Arians their next head coach on Tuesday, according to sources. Arians took a year off after serving as the Cardinals head coach for five seasons. It's good news for Tampa's offense as a whole, and the Bucs front office will be hoping that Arians can finally help quarterback Jameis Winston turn a corner. They have the weapons in the passing game with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, but the Bucs will be focusing on bolstering their running game heading into the 2019 season. There is a lot to like from this offense for fantasy owners.

Jan 1 1:00pm ET

Buccaneers' QB Jameis Winston scored an impressive 34.55 fantasy points in Sunday's Week 17 loss against the Falcons. Winston threw for 345 yards on 22-of-35 with four touchdowns and one interception.

Dec 31 2:43pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston is expected to remain the team's starting quarterback in 2019, general manager Jason Licht told reporters during his season-ending presser Monday, Dec. 31.

Fantasy Spin: Winston will be entering the team option portion of his rookie contract in 2019. The former No. 1 overall pick has consistently mixed poor decisions on and off the field with occasional spectacular play, but it's fair to say he hasn't lived up to expectations yet. Tampa Bay would be well-served to hire a creative mind to run the offense and make fixing the ground game an important part of the offseason plan. Winston's fantasy outlook for 2019 figures to depend heavily on how the Bucs improve their roster this spring.

Dec 30 10:20pm ET

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers relieved head coach Dirk Koetter of his duties on Sunday after their Week 17 loss to the Falcons. Koetter was with the team for three seasons and finished his stint with a 19-29 record after going 5-11 in 2018. Koetter led the Bucs to their first winning season since 2010 when they went 9-7 in his first year in 2016. The ultimate deciding factor was quarterback Jameis Winston not improving in Koetter's time as the head coach, and Tampa's defenses were perennially awful. Winston is expected to return and has solid receivers around him in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, but Tampa will focus on improving their backfield and bolstering their secondary under their new head coach.

From RotoBaller

Dec 30 8:43pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston completed 22 of his 35 passes for 345 yards, four touchdowns and an interception and rushed twice for 23 yards in a 34-32 loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 17.

Fantasy Spin: Despite a turbulent 2018 campaign, Winston is expected to enter next season as Tampa Bay's starting quarterback. Consistency remains a major concern, but he always seems to have a few big games. He should at least be a solid streaming option in 2019.

Dec 30 4:30pm ET

Buccaneers' QB Jameis Winston passed for 345 yards on 22-of-35 with four touchdowns in Sunday's loss against the Falcons. It was Winston's 2nd consecutive 300+ yard passing game. He has averaged 341 yards passing in those games.
