2024 RTSports Outlook

Henderson started the season with the Rams, but was released by the team after Week 11. He had his struggles with Los Angeles despite getting a good amount of work. He had double-digit carries four games with the Rams but topped 50-rushing yards just once. He averaged just 4.0 yards per carry. Henderson was picked up by the Jaguars but didn't get in a game with his new team before getting released. He will look to land a depth role this coming season. Henderson has top speed at the position, getting to the next level in a hurry. He lacks some moves in space and doesn't run with a ton of power, but his speed makes up for a lot of that. He also can catch the ball pretty well.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Henderson has gotten his chances in the past but not done a whole lot with them. A sudden breakout season is not expected. He will be hit or miss in a reserve role. He might get around 400 total yards and a few scores.

The Los Angeles Rams have released running back Darrell Henderson Jr. from the practice squad. Henderson was drafted by the organization in 2019 and spent four seasons with Los Angeles before being waived in the middle of the 2022 season. He rejoined the team after injuries to Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee) this year, rushing 46 times for 112 yards and two touchdowns in four games. He has spent the last month on the practice squad, but his time with the organization is coming to an end once again. Rivers and Royce Freeman remain the backups to Williams.

It didn't take long for the Los Angeles Rams to reunite with running back Darrell Henderson Jr. after releasing him on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the re-signed him to their practice squad to give them additional RB depth. Henderson is essentially the odd man out with Kyren Williams (ankle) set to return from Injured Reserve to once again lead LA's backfield in Week 12 against the Arizona Cardinals. The 26-year-old started all four games with Williams on IR in Weeks 7-11 (bye in Week 10) and had 46 carries for 112 yards (2.43 yards per carry) and two touchdowns on the ground, adding 10 catches for 103 yards through the air. Williams, Royce Freeman and rookie Zach Evans will now serve as depth for the Rams in the RB room with Williams returning.

Dynasty | The Rams have released Darrell Henderson Dynasty Analysis: The life of today's NFL running back. Kyren Williams is due to return and Henderson didn't perform well as a runner, though he did score two touchdowns as a rusher. He did show ability as a receiver and though not enough to stick on the roster. There's every possibility the Rams re-sign him to the practice squad.

The Los Angeles Rams waived running back Darrell Henderson Jr. on Tuesday with Kyren Williams (ankle) set to return from Injured Reserve in Week 12 against the Arizona Cardinals. The Rams reunited with Henderson when Williams went on IR, and he had 46 rushing attempts for 112 yards (2.43 yards per carry) and two touchdowns while adding 10 receptions for 103 yards on 14 targets in four starts with Williams sidelined. Henderson wasn't very efficient on the ground, though, and was also ceding valuable touches to Royce Freeman, who should now operate as Williams' backup down the stretch. If the 26-year-old clears waivers, he could return to the Rams' practice squad as RB depth.

Los Angeles Rams running back Darrell Henderson Jr. found his way into the end zone despite a quiet day against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 11. Henderson carried the ball six times for just one yard and a touchdown while hauling in four of seven targets for 28 yards through the air. Royce Freeman has been the better rusher of the two and has led the team on the ground for four straight games. With Kyren Williams (ankle) eligible to return in Week 12, Henderson should not be considered a start unless absolutely needed. Treat him as a low-end RB4 in the team's Week 12 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals.

Los Angeles Rams running back Darrell Henderson Jr. is expected to start another game with Kyren Williams (knee) still on IR. Henderson has played the majority of running back snaps for the team over the last three weeks, but has not been efficient on the ground. The 26-year-old has rushed the ball 40 times for just 111 yards, averaging less than three yards per carry. He now faces a Seattle Seahawks defense that has allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing RBs. Consider Henderson as a flex play at best in Week 11.

Rams' RB Darrell Henderson averaged a brutal 1.9 yards per carry on 10 attempts in Sunday's loss in Green Bay.

The Los Angeles Rams signed running back Darrell Henderson Jr. to the active roster on Wednesday. Henderson has been on the team's practice squad following his signing two weeks ago. But it was only a matter of time before this move happened. The veteran has been Los Angeles's lead back over the past two weeks, totaling 34 touches for 151 yards and one touchdown. Henderson is a solid flex play in Week 9 against a Green Bay Packers defense that is allowing the seventh most fantasy points per game to running backs this year.

Los Angeles Rams running back Darrell Henderson Jr. got his second-straight start in the team's 43-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 8. The 26-year-old rushed the ball 12 times for just 31 yards but caught all three of his targets for 54 yards through the air. Royce Freeman was once again more efficient on the ground, while Henderson out-snapped and out-touched him. This was against a tough Dallas defense in a game where Los Angeles was trailing. Henderson is still a solid RB3/Flex play in his Week 9 matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

The Rams elevated running back Darrell Henderson Jr. off the practice squad on Saturday ahead of the Week 8 matchup against the Cowboys. With Kyren Williams (ankle) on injured reserve, Royce Freeman and Henderson were expected to split opportunities out of the backfield in Week 7 versus the Steelers. However, it quickly became evident Henderson was the top option, as he finished the game with more snaps and carries while scoring a touchdown. That said, Freeman should remain involved in Sunday's meeting with Dallas. There's also a chance Zach Evans or Myles Gaskins each get on the field. But it's safe to say Henderson should be the guy fantasy managers should covet, meaning he at least deserves flex consideration.

Los Angeles Rams running back Darrell Henderson proved that he is the fantasy running back to roster in the team's Week 7 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. During his season debut with the team, Henderson rushed 18 times for 61 yards and a touchdown on the ground, while he caught one of his two targets for five yards. The 26-year-old started, which came as a shock to many. It was exclusively him and Royce Freeman getting the work and it may very well continue to be this way until Kyren Williams (ankle) returns. Henderson should be picked up in all leagues and treated as a high-end RB3/flex play in a tough Week 8 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Los Angeles Rams running backs Darrell Henderson and Royce Freeman are anticipated to receive "the majority of the workload" against the Steelers in Week 7. Schefter added that Freeman is "the likely starter," although their performances could determine who will lead the backfield while Kyren Williams (ankle) sits on injured reserve. Rookie Zach Evans is expected to be the No. 3 option on the depth chart, meaning his fantasy potential is severely restricted, while Myles Gaskin will probably be inactive. Nonetheless, Los Angeles' backfield situation appears in complete chaos, considering it's unclear which man has the best chance to produce. As a result, fantasy managers may want to avoid this situation at all costs and reevaluate things for the Week 8 meeting with the Dallas Cowboys.

Los Angeles Rams running Darrell Henderson has been elevated from the practice squad to the active roster ahead of Sunday's Week 7 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Rams placed Kyren Williams (ankle) on IR and Henderson's activation is the corresponding move. Henderson was always going to be active, per head coach Sean McVay, but this move makes it official. The Los Angeles backfield is muddled at the moment with Zach Evans, Royce Freeman, and Myles Gaskin all expected to see action, in addition to Henderson. It's a situation that should be avoided if you have alternative options on your fantasy roster.

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said that running back Darrell Henderson Jr., who was signed off the street this week, will be elevated from the practice squad to the active 53-man roster for the Week 7 game on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. McVay declined to say what LA's running-back rotation would look like this weekend, though, with Kyren Williams (ankle) out and Ronnie Rivers (knee) on Injured Reserve. Henderson has familiarity with the Rams' offense, but it's still unlikely he'll have a big role for the team in his first game this year. Instead, rookie Zach Evans and Royce Freeman should handle most of the touches in the backfield on Sunday against the Steelers.

Oct 17 4:00pm ET

In the wake of injuries to Los Angeles Rams running backs Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee), the Rams signed free-agent running back Darrell Henderson to their practice squad on Tuesday and elevated Royce Freeman to the active 53-man roster from the practice squad. Henderson, 26, spent the last four years with the Rams but was waived last November after carrying the ball 70 times for 283 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games (sevens starts). It remains to be seen where Henderson is at physically, but his familiarity with the Rams offense makes him a candidate to contribute sooner than later for however long Williams and Rivers are out. Rookie Zach Evans and Freeman should split backfield duties in Week 7 against the Pittsburgh Steelers if Williams can't play and Henderson needs more time to get up to speed.
