2024 RTSports Outlook

Diggs had another big season as the top target in the Bills explosive passing attack. He was fourth overall in fantasy receiver. He has been a top-10 fantasy receiver each of the past three seasons. Diggs had nine games last year with 20-plus fantasy points. He had seven 100-yard games. Diggs topped 1,400 yards two of three seasons. Diggs has five straight 1,000-yard seasons and 100-plus catches four of those years. He is the No. 1 receiver for the Bills and should get plenty of work in that role. Diggs is 29 years old and seems to have plenty left in the tank. Diggs is a pretty physical receiver that does well in making plays all over the field. He isn't afraid to go over the middle and make the tough catch. He also has good moves in space and top hands. Fantasy Outlook:   Diggs is a top-10 fantasy receiver, capable of finishing first overall. He will be as consistent as any receiver in the game, racking up catches and yards. Look for around 110 receptions, 1,400 yards and double-digit touchdowns.

Updating a previous report, Houston Texans WR Stefon Diggs' revised contract breaks down as follows: $20.895 million in signing bonus with $1.21 million fully guaranteed for skill, injury and salary cap. The 2025-28 seasons are voidable with $30 million salaries for cap purposes, and Diggs will count $5.867 million against the 2024 salary cap before becoming eligible for unrestricted free agency in March of 2025.

Newly acquired Houston Texans wide receiver Stefon Diggs can become a free agent after his 2024 campaign, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The organization wiped out the final three years of Diggs' contract and moved up $3.5 million in guarantees for next season into this year. He will earn a total of $22.52 million in guaranteed money in 2024. This move should add an extra incentive for Diggs to perform his best, and it will be interesting to see if the Texans can lock him up long-term next offseason. Diggs, who turns 31 next season, has accumulated at least 1,000 receiving yards and six touchdowns in each of his last six campaigns dating back to his time with the Minnesota Vikings.

Updating a previous report, Houston Texans WR Stefon Diggs can become a free agent at the end of the 2024 season after the Texans agreed to remove the final three years of his contract. Additionally, Houston took the $3.5 million guaranteed to Diggs in 2025 and moved it into this season, bumping up his guaranteed money for 2024 to $22.52 million.

Fantasy Spin: This is a bold yet strategic move by the Texans, who should get a motivated (and possibly happy) Diggs at the very least. While it would be painful to lose Diggs AND the second-round pick it took to acquire him, the tradeoff is that Diggs will have every reason to be on his best behavior. Don't be surprised if Diggs proves that rumors of his demise were greatly exaggerated, although it may be difficult for him to extend his 100-catch season streak to five with Nico Collins and Tank Dell also pushing for targets.

Dynasty | The Bills are trading wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans. Dynasty Analysis: Buffalo is reportedly receiving a second round pick (via Minnesota) in exchange for Diggs, a 6th round pick this season and a 5th round pick next year. It's a monster trade that shakes up the AFC in a big way. Diggs had clearly grown unhappy with the direction Buffalo was headed and was essentially phased out of the offense for large stretches last season. He'll now team up with CJ Stroud on a team poised to boast one of the NFL's most explosive offenses. Diggs could be overvalued a touch with this move but still looks like a decent buy for contending dynasty teams.

Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs was acquired by the Houston Texans Wednesday, April 3, in exchange for undisclosed draft pick compensation.

Fantasy Spin: No, this is no post-April Fool's joke. The electrifying rookie C.J. Stroud just got a WR1 to go with an already solid supporting cast. It's hard to envision he sees 160 targets again with Nico Collins and Tank Dell also hungry. Diggs was the WR9 last year, but he really fell off in the second half. There's no reason he can't remain around that area, but don't overdraft the 30-year-old amidst all the hype.

Apr 3 11:10am ET

The Buffalo Bills are trading All-Pro wide receiver Stefon Diggs and two 2025 late-round picks to the Houston Texans in exchange for a 2025 second-round pick. Needless to say, this is a shocking and exciting development, and quarterback C.J. Stroud will now have no shortage of weapons to throw to in 2024. However, the fantasy football outlooks of Nico Collins, Tank Dell, and Dalton Schultz are likely to take sizable hits. In Buffalo, Curtis Samuel and Khalil Shakir now move into the temporary WR1 and WR2 roles, but the Bills are surely planning to draft one or two wide receivers in the first three rounds of the 2024 NFL Draft. Diggs has expressed frustration in Buffalo over the last few seasons, but he has remained productive. The 30-year-old has posted at least 1,000 receiving yards in each of the last six seasons, including at least 1,100 yards in his last four campaigns with Buffalo. He keeps his WR1 upside in his new Texans uniform.

Feb 23 8:43pm ET

Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs posted a catch rate of 72% from Weeks 1-9 in 2023, but that mark fell to 59% from Week 10 onward.

Fantasy Spin: Diggs still managed an impressive 107 receptions, but he finished with his fewest receiving yards since joining the Bills, and he seemed unhappy with his role at times. There is a chance that he simply had a rough patch at the end of the year, but it could also be a sign that he is starting to decline a bit.

Feb 17 1:20pm ET

The Athletic's Joe Buscaglia believes that the wide receiver position is the Buffalo Bills' biggest need heading into the new league year in 2024. The Bills will still have quarterback Josh Allen and receiver Stefon Diggs, but the second half of last year yielded a lack of consistent explosive plays on offense and capped some of the team's overall potential. The absence of an explosive receiver who could attract attention away from Diggs made the Bills rely on shorter throws, their running game and longer drives to come away with points. Adding a top-tier receiver in this year's NFL draft could help open things up for Buffalo on offense significantly, which could help them eventually return to the Super Bowl. Giving Diggs help across the field should also help him produce more after he ended last year with a low ceiling for fantasy managers.

Dynasty | When asked about his future in Buffalo, Stefon Diggs has said, "We'll see." Dynasty Analysis: Diggs is clearly disappointed in how things went down for Buffalo the second half of the season. While his 107/1,183/8 line looks good on paper, he didn't have a 100-yard game after week six and looked increasingly frustrated as the season went on. While he hasn't demanded any kind of trade, it's seems possible (if not likely) he does at some point this off-season. Diggs' dynasty value is decreasing based on his age but a change of scenery could do him some good.

From Dynasty League Fantasy

Feb 2 5:30pm ET

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs expressed uncertainty about his future in Buffalo in his first comments since losing in the Divisional Round of the playoffs to the Kansas City Chiefs. When asked whether he was ready to move forward with the Bills, Diggs said, "I'm ready to go no matter which way it goes," and did not elaborate. Diggs saved his worst for last in the loss to KC, catching just three passes for 21 yards on eight targets while also dropping a crucial deep pass that could have won the game in the fourth quarter. Diggs will have a $27.354 million salary cap hit in 2024 and still has three years left on the four-year extension he signed in 2022. General manager Brandon Beane backed Diggs after being eliminated from the playoffs, but Diggs' recent comments could be construed as non-committal to his future in Buffalo. The 30-year-old had a sixth straight 1,000-yard season in 2023, but he finished with just 422 yards and two touchdowns in his final 10 games.

Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs said he is not sure about his future with the Bills moving forward.

Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players can keep an eye on the situation to see if Diggs will be on the field for the Bills in 2024. He will be a main option in the passing game for whatever team he plays for next season and will be a weekly starting option in fantasy leagues.

Jan 23 3:00pm ET

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs had a disastrous second half of the 2023 season that extended into the playoffs. Over his final 13 games, he failed to post over 87 receiving yards, and he fell under 55 yards in eight of those contests. He caught just ten passes for 73 yards and no touchdowns in the Bills' playoff games against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs. However, general manager Brandon Beane is confident in Diggs moving forward. "He's a No. 1 receiver," Beane told reporters on Tuesday during his end-of-season news conference. "I firmly believe that. I'm not wavering off of that. We have to continue to put weapons out there to keep teams from bracketing him or locking him down in different ways. I know there's various reasons or questions on this, there's production and all that, but I still see Stef as a No. 1 receiver." The three-time Pro Bowler turned 30 during the 2023 campaign, so there's a chance he is beyond his prime years of production. That said, it sounds like Beane would like to keep him around and the team still views him as the clear top option in the passing game for 2024.

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs flopped one more time in Sunday's 27-24 Divisional Round defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs to wrap up a concerning drop-off, finishing with a season-low 21 yards on three catches (eight targets) and a seven-yard carry. As they've done in recent weeks, the Bills often sent Diggs in motion and used him in the backfield to avoid L'Jarius Sneed's shadow coverage, but it wasn't enough to get him going. Diggs started a rough evening by coughing up the ball on his first catch, but Dalton Kincaid was there to bat it out of bounds. Diggs had a chance to save his day by coming down with a deep Josh Allen bomb late, but the 30-year-old wideout couldn't corral the pass. It brings a merciful end to a dreadful second half for Diggs, who last scored in Week 12 and broke the 80-yard barrier in Week 6. A cinch first-round fantasy pick in recent years, Diggs' late-season decline could push him out of that echelon in 2024 drafts.

From TheHuddle

Jan 20 12:50am ET

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs posted his second straight seven-catch effort in last Monday's wild-card win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he failed to score for the sixth week in a row. Diggs handled the shadow coverage of top Steelers cornerback Joey Porter fairly well, but things won't get any easier in Sunday's Divisional Round versus the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs gave up the third-fewest fantasy points per game to opposing wideouts in the regular season, and Diggs also lines up for shadow treatment against L'Jarius Sneed, who allowed zero touchdowns and the fewest PPR fantasy points per target (1.00) over 16 games in 2023. Primarily covering Diggs when these squads clashed in Week 14, Sneed clamped down on him for Diggs' season low in yards (24). Without a 100-yard showing since Week 6, Diggs' looks more boom-or-bust than ever, but that should at least depress his DFS rostership and offer some contrarian appeal.

Jan 19 4:00pm ET

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs (foot) doesn't carry an injury designation for Sunday's Divisional Round matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. As expected, he's good to go and will play despite appearing on the injury report this week after injuring his foot in the wild-card win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Diggs was held out of practice on Thursday but returned to a limited session on Friday. Gabe Davis (knee) is missing another game this weekend, so quarterback Josh Allen could lean even more on Diggs, who hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 12. However, he was targeted nine times against the Steelers on Monday and caught seven passes for 52 yards. The matchup against the Chiefs is not the friendliest, but Diggs should have plenty of volume to make some noise as the fifth-most expensive WR at DraftKings.

From RotoBaller

Jan 19 3:43pm ET

Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs (foot) was limited during practice Friday, Jan. 19, but is not on the injury report for the Divisional Round playoff game. The Bills did not hold a practice Friday, so his practice participation is an estimation.

Fantasy Spin: Diggs injured his foot in the last playoff game but should be involved in the passing game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He should be a starting option in all fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Jan 19 1:23pm ET

Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs (foot) was upgraded to a limited practice on Friday, Jan. 19.

Fantasy Spin: According to head coach Sean McDermott, Diggs suffered his foot injury in the Wild Card Game and it "cropped up a bit" later in the week, which led to Thursday's DNP. He will almost certainly be listed as questionable on the final injury report later Friday, but there does not seem to be much concern about his ability to play in the Divisional Round game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Diggs has not been very effective in fantasy for the better part of the last two months, so he should not be considered a hot commodity in DFS.

From TheHuddle

Jan 18 6:40pm ET

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs (foot) received a veteran day of rest at practice on Thursday after taking part in full on Wednesday. It's a new injury listed for Diggs, but it's apparently nothing major, and he should be just fine to play in Sunday's Divisional Round playoff game against the visiting Kansas City Chiefs. Diggs caught seven of nine targets for 52 yards in Monday's wild-card win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. It's now back-to-back games for Diggs with seven receptions, but he hasn't found the end zone now since the team's Week 12 overtime loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 12. It might be tough for the 30-year-old to return to the end zone on Sunday in the Divisional Round against a Kansas City Chiefs defense that allowed the third-fewest half-PPR points to wideouts in 2023.
