The Carolina Panthers could seek a veteran backup to QB Cam Newton in free agency, in the opinion of ESPN's David Newton, who lists soon-to-be free-agent QBs Brock Osweiler (Dolphins), Trevor Siemian (Vikings), Tyrod Taylor (Browns), Ryan Fitzpatrick (Buccaneers), Sean Mannion (Rams) and Mark Sanchez (Redskins) as options they could consider.
Baltimore Ravens impending free-agent QB Robert Griffin III and Cleveland Browns impending free-agent QB Tyrod Taylor are possible backup options for the Ravens next season, according to head coach John Harbaugh. Harbaugh said the team will be looking to add two quarterbacks this offseason and want the quarterbacks to play a similar style to QB Lamar Jackson.
Cleveland Browns impending free-agent QB Tyrod Taylor could consider the Baltimore Ravens a potential landing spot in free agency this offseason, according to ESPN's Jamison Hensley. Taylor made his only Pro Bowl in 2015 when new Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman called the plays with the Buffalo Bills, and Taylor spent the first four seasons of his NFL career with Baltimore before leaving for Buffalo in 2015.
Fantasy Spin: With Joe Flacco almost guaranteed to be elsewhere in 2019, the Ravens are going to have to decide if Robert Griffin III is the man they want backing up Lamar Jackson. Taylor didn't play particularly well with the Browns last season, but his game is similar to Jackson's and would allow Baltimore to stick with its game plan if Jackson were to miss time. Taylor will certainly seek out potential starting opportunities elsewhere first, but a reunion with the Ravens makes sense if he doesn't like what the market has to offer.
Cleveland Browns impending free-agent QB Tyrod Taylor could be an option for the Baltimore Ravens this offseason as a backup to QB Lamar Jackson, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Jamison Hensley. Taylor had one of his better seasons when offensive coordinator Greg Roman was calling plays for him with the Buffalo Bills.
Cleveland Browns QB Tyrod Taylor has not been discussed in potential trades, according to head coach Hue Jackson.
Fantasy Spin: There's no advantage for Jackson to acknowledge shopping Taylor, but with Baker Mayfield the quarterback of the present and future, carrying a backup of Taylor's caliber may be a luxury the Browns can't afford -- keep in mind the Jets banked a third-round pick for Teddy Bridgewater. Always an underrated fantasy asset, Taylor's status is worth keeping tabs on.
Cleveland Browns LB James Burgess (knee) did not participate in practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 5 against the Baltimore Ravens. LB Christian Kirksey (illness) did not practice Friday, Oct. 5, and is listed as questionable. S Damarious Randall (heel) was limited in practice for a second straight day Friday and is also listed as questionable. WR Antonio Callaway (knee), DL Trevon Coley (wrist), DE Myles Garrett (wrist), WR Jarvis Landry (knee) and QB Tyrod Taylor (back) each practiced in full Friday and have been removed from the injury report.
Cleveland Browns LB James Burgess (knee) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 4. FS Damarious Randall (heel) was limited during practice. DT Trevon Coley (wrist), DE Myles Garrett (wrist) and QB Tyrod Taylor (back) fully participated in practice.
Cleveland Browns backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor won't rule out the idea of asking for a trade to a quarterback-needy team, but he's not actively seeking a trade. Taylor is in the final year of his contract and can be a free agent in 2019. Right now, Im focusing on getting healthy and continue to keep getting better and what I can do for the team, and thatll do it," Taylor said. If Taylor were to be traded before the deadline on Oct. 30, veteran Drew Stanton would be rookie Baker Mayfield's backup. As long as Taylor remains with Cleveland, he has no fantasy value.
Cleveland Browns QB Tyrod Taylor (back, concussion) is feeling a lot better and is expected to serve as the No. 2 quarterback in Week 5.
Cleveland Browns backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor (back) practiced in full on Wednesday. Taylor should be fine to serve as rookie QB Baker Mayfield's backup in Week 5 against the Ravens. Taylor has lost what little fantasy value he had at the beginning of the season now that he's holding clipboards on game day.
Cleveland Browns LB James Burgess (knee) and CB Damarious Randall (heel) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 3. DE Myles Garrett (wrist), DL Trevon Coley (wrist) and QB Tyrod Taylor (back) participated fully.
The Cleveland Browns have declared DT Devaroe Lawrence, LB James Burgess, OG Austin Corbett, TE Seth DeValve, WR Damion Ratley, CB Tavierre Thomas and QB Tyrod Taylor inactive for Week 4.
Cleveland Browns QB Tyrod Taylor (back, concussion) is expected to be available for Week 4's game against the Oakland Raiders. He had been listed as questionable on the injury report.
Fantasy Spin: Barring an injury to Baker Mayfield, it's unlikely that we'll see Taylor under center in a Cleveland Browns uniform again. Obviously, he has no fantasy value at this point.
Cleveland Browns QB Tyrod Taylor (back, concussion) will travel with the team for their Week 4 game but is still listed as questionable.
Cleveland Browns LB James Burgess (knee) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 4 versus the Oakland Raiders. TE Seth DeValve (hamstring), S Damarious Randall (heel) and QB Tyrod Taylor (concussion, back) were limited in practice Friday, Sept. 28, and are listed as questionable. DE Myles Garrett (knee), OL Desmond Harrison (shoulder), LB Christian Kirksey (shoulder, ankle), WR Jarvis Landry (knee) and DE Emmanuel Ogbah (heel) all were full participants in practice Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.
Cleveland Browns LB James Burgess (knee) and FS Damarious Randall (heel) did not participate in practice Thursday, Sept. 27. TE Seth DeValve (hamstring), LB Christian Kirksey (ankle, shoulder), DE Emmanuel Ogbah (ankle) and QB Tyrod Taylor (back, concussion) were limited during practice. DE Myles Garrett (knee) and OT Desmond Harrison (shoulder) fully participated in practice.
Cleveland Browns QB Tyrod Taylor (concussion, back) cleared the league's concussion protocol Thursday, Sept. 27. However, head coach Hue Jackson said Taylor also is dealing with a back injury that could keep him from serving as the team's No. 2 quarterback in Week 4.
Fantasy Spin: It's the Baker Mayfield Show now in Cleveland after the rookie replaced the injured Taylor late in the first half of Week 3. And barring a Mayfield injury, don't plan on seeing Taylor quarterbacking the Browns again.
Cleveland Browns quarterback Tyrod Taylor (concussion) returned to practice on Thursday and is out of the concussion protocol. Head coach Hue Jackson said Taylor will be the No. 2 quarterback for Week 4 against the Raiders if he's healthy. Rookie Baker Mayfield has taken over the starting gig after he replaced the concussed Taylor in Week 3 and led the team to a memorable second-half comeback over the Jets. With the future happening now in Cleveland, Taylor doesn't deserve to be owned in most leagues moving forward.
Cleveland Browns QB Tyrod Taylor (concussion, back), CB Damarious Randall (heel) and LB James Burgess (knee) did not practice Wednesday, Sept. 26. TE Seth DeValve (hamstring), LB Christian Kirksey (shoulder, ankle) and DE Emmanuel Ogbah (ankle) were limited. DE Myles Garrett (knee) and OT Damon Harrison (shoulder) participated fully.
Cleveland Browns quarterback Tyrod Taylor (concussion) was not back at practice on Wednesday. If he's not cleared in time for Week 4 against the Raiders, the Browns will go with Drew Stanton as the backup to rookie Baker Mayfield. Taylor has lost the starting job to the exciting Mayfield after the rookie led a second-half comeback against the Jets last Thursday. Taylor can now be dropped in most leagues if he wasn't already.
