Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph and Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate could be options for the Denver Broncos if they are cap casualties this offseason, according to Bill Barnwell, and Barnwell also believes the Broncos could target a tight end with an early pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Fantasy Spin: After making the move to acquire Joe Flacco, finding a reliable tight end would make sense. Flacco's love for throwing underneath to tight ends once resulted in Dennis Pitta catching 86 passes, so a veteran like Rudolph or Brate should be able to deliver TE1 production as the primary tight end in Denver.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate (hip) had arthroscopic surgery to repair a torn labrum in his hip, according to a source, and Brate is hoping to return for minicamp in June.
Fantasy Spin: The emergence of O.J. Howard has capped Brate's upside, but Jameis Winston has shown a habit of looking Brate's way in the red zone. He will be a touchdown-dependent TE2 in 2019.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate (undisclosed) has been dealing with an injury since the start of the season that has contributed to his dip in performance, according to head coach Dirk Koetter. 'There will probably be more information on that after the season is over,' Koetter said. 'But I think Cam, when he gets healthy again, will return to form very quickly.'
Fantasy Spin: Brate enters the final week of the regular season with 28 catches for 250 yards and six touchdowns, but even if he is healthier in 2019, he is likely stuck as a touchdown-dependent option while playing alongside O.J. Howard.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate logged two receptions for eight yards during the team's Week 16 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
Fantasy Spin: There was some hope that Brate would elevate his game following the O.J. Howard injury, but outside of a few touchdowns he's been thoroughly disappointing. Steer clear unless you have no other options.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate caught one pass for nine yards against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 15.
Fantasy Spin: Brate did catch two touchdowns in Week 14 but was not a big factor this week. He has not posted more than 36 yards in any game this season and can only be considered a low-end No. 1 tight end because of his touchdown potential.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate had just two catches for 12 yards in Week 14 against the New Orleans Saints, but both were good for touchdowns.
Fantasy Spin: If Brate could find the end zone like this on a regular basis, he would be a decent fantasy option. He has six scores overall, but 36 or fewer yards in every game this season. If he fails to score he is a bust. The Bucs travel to meet the Ravens in Week 15.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate caught three passes for 26 yards and one touchdown against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 12.
Fantasy Spin: Brate will receive most of the work at tight end with O.J. Howard out for the season but probably should only be considered a No. 2 fantasy tight end at this point.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate caught his only target, a 15-yard touchdown, in a 34-29 loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6, and Brate has scored in each of the past three games.
Fantasy Spin: While Brate is still a weapon in the red zone, he has just seven catches all year and has become a touchdown-dependent fantasy option.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate caught three passes for 29 yards and one touchdown against the Chicago Bears in Week 4.
Fantasy Spin: Brate could see more targets over the next few weeks if O.J. Howard is dealing with a serious injury. He can be a No. 2 tight end in some leagues but is not a strong starting option.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate racked up three catches, 34 yards and a touchdown on four targets in Week 3 against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday, Sept. 24.
Fantasy Spin: Brate hooked up with Ryan Fitzpatrick for what is believed to be the first touchdown in NFL history between a quarterback from Harvard and a receiver from Harvard. Despite the score, he remains more of a low-end TE2 in deeper leagues as long as O.J. Howard remains healthy. The Bucs meet the Bears in Week 4.
